The Bones Cast: Then & Now

Bones, a TV series about a forensic anthropologist and her team of scientists (or "squints") solving crimes with an FBI agent, ran from 2005 to 2017. In those 12 years viewers saw the show's characters fall in love, catch murderers, and face a few tragedies along the way.

But in the two years since the long-running Fox show has been off the air (take heart: full seasons are streaming on Hulu), you may have forgotten what the cast looked like way back when. If you're as curious as Dr. Temperance Brennan, you may even be wondering what these actors are doing now.

Luckily, we're here to refresh your memory. Here's what the Bones cast looked like then and what they look like now.

In 2005 Emily Deschanel debuted as Dr. Temperance Brennan on Bones. Throughout the series, fans watched Dr. Brennan learn how to open up to the people around her as she pieced together her complicated past. But now that Bones has ended, what's Emily Deschanel up to?

Now, the L.A.-born actress plays Angela on TNT's Animal Kingdom.

Boreanaz played dreamy but tough FBI agent Seeley Booth, who works cases with Dr. Brennan. Booth affectionately refers to her throughout the series as "Bones," hence the name of the show. The two partners eventually fell in love. What came next for this strapping star?

Boreanaz is currently starring on CBS' SEAL Team as Jason Hayes.

Conlin played Dr. Brennan's artsy, free-spirited best friend, Angela Montenegro, who eventually fell for her nerdy and super-rich coworker Jack Hodgins. Notably, Angela's father was played by ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons.

Since her time on Bones, Michaela Conlin has appeared in TV shows Here and Now and Yellowstone.

T.J. Thyne played Jack Hodgins, an uber nerd from a wealthy family who is passionate about his job and always quick with a smart remark. Hodgins also proved to be surprisingly smooth as he wooed Angela.

Post Bones, Thyne has appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and will appear in an upcoming series called Gentefied.

Eric Millegan played Zack Addy, Brennan's favorite assistant. However, not even his close personal relationship with Dr. Brennan or his friendship with Hodgins could save him from falling under the influence of a serial killer. Though Zack's time at the Jeffersonian ended after Season 3, the character appeared in select episodes throughout the series. But what has Millegan been up to lately?

Since his departure from Bones as a series regular, Millegan has performed various cabaret shows off Broadway in New York City. In 2018 he released an album, Better... With Friends, that included a duet with former Bones co-star Emily Deschanel.

Dr. Lance Sweets, played by the always adorable John Francis Daley, was originally brought in by the FBI to evaluate Booth and Dr. Brennan's work partnership. Over time, he became their close confidant and a friend to the entire Jeffersonian team. (This made his murder super devastating.)

Since Bones, Daley has brought his acting, directing, and writing talents to the small and big screen. The Freaks and Geeks alum teamed up with Jonathan Goldstein to write and direct the 2015 Vacation rebootand direct 2018 comedy Game Night. Daley also appeared in each of those films. In addition, he was one of the writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming, is a producer of Stuber, and is involved with a slew of upcoming projects.

Tamara Taylor played Dr. Camille Saroyan, the pathologist who led the Jeffersonian team with poise. Cam eventually found romance with suave intern-turned-doctor Arastoo Vaziri.

Taylor has made regular TV appearances since her role on Bones. She's been in August Falls, Altered Carbon, Sunday, #Truth, and an upcoming series called October Faction.

John Boyd played junior FBI agent James Aubrey, who was introduced on Bones in Season 10 after the death of Dr. Sweets.

Since his time on Bones, Boyd has appeared in the films Wonderstruck and Peppermint.

Carla Gallo played super-smart, eager intern Daisy Wick, whose love story with Sweets was tragically cut short.

Gallo has been in many movies since Bones, including Little Evil, Room for Rent, A Futile and Stupid Gesture, and the upcoming Sid Is Dead.

Eugene Byrd gave life to the neurotic, closed off Dr. Clark Edison, who always found himself caught up in his coworkers' personal lives.

Post Bones, Byrd has made several appearances on screen, including Still the King, Kings, A Million Little Pieces, The Rookie, and L.A.'s Finest. He is currently filming a project called Definition Please.

Joel David Moore played pessimistic and dark-humored "squintern" Colin Fisher.

Since Bones, Moore has appeared in shows like American Housewife and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and he's got a number of projects in the works, including four different Avatar movies.

Ryan Cartwright played Vincent Nigel-Murray, the lovable British "squintern" with a gift for trivia. Vincent was tragically murdered in Season 6.

British-born Cartwright has appeared on Alphas, The Big Bang Theory, Mom, Sin City Saints, Kevin Can Wait, and Fam since his run as Mr. Nigel-Murray on Bones.

Iranian American Pej Vahdat played "squintern" Arastoo Vaziri, a man of science who was also devoted to his Muslim faith. Arastoo revealed his romantic side when he dated and eventually married Dr. Saroyan.

Vahdat has had a booming career since his stint on Bones. He appeared in films such as Roman J. Israel, Esq., Magnum Opus, and Hope Springs Eternal, as well as TV shows like NCIS, Family Guy, Lucifer, Arrow, Empire, and The Village.

Starting in Season 4, Michael Grant Terry played soft-spoken working class "squintern" Wendell Bray.

Since the series, Terry has voiced various video game characters.

Confident, handsome Cuban "squintern" Rodolfo Fuentes was played by Ignacio Serricchio.

Since his time on Bones, Serricchio has appeared in Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, The Mule, and Lost in Space.

Intelligent, eccentric "squintern" Jessica Warren, who dated Agent Aubrey for a while, was played by Laura Spencer.

Since Bones, Spencer has been in multiple film shorts and will have a role in the upcoming TV movie Kevin Vs Josh.

Ryan O'Neal played Max Keenan, Dr. Brennan's estranged father with a criminal past, beginning in Season 2.

O'Neal is set to appear in an upcoming film called The Waste Lands.

Brennan and Booth's daughter Christine was played by multiple infants as a baby. Sunnie Pelant took over the part late in Season 9, when Christine was old enough for dialogue.

After the FOX series ended, Pelant appeared on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and NCIS.

Ty Panitz played Booth's son Parker starting in the first season, making his final appearance when Booth and Brennan married early in Season 9. Gavin MacIntosh played the role in Season 11.

The now 20-year-old actor has not done much in the way of TV and film since his Bones days. He currently attends UC Berkeley.

Patricia Belcher played federal prosecutor Caroline Julian throughout the series.

Before and after her time on the crime procedural, Belcher has had an active TV career. She has appeared on the short-lived Trial & Error, Mom, Code Black, Teachers, No Good Nick, and A.P. Bio.
