Freshman comedy Modern Family grabbed a leading five nominations for the Television Critics Association Awards.
The ABC show was nominated for best new series, best comedy series and best program of the year. Stars Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet were singled out for their individual performances.

Fellow first-year series Glee followed close behind with four nominations, as did AMC drama Breaking Bad. Glee earned nominations for best new series, best comedy, program of the year and recognition for Jane Lynch's performance. Breaking Bad snagged acting nods for stars Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul, besides best drama and program of the year.
Recently departed series Lost, Law & Order and 24 were all nominated for the Heritage Award.
The TCA Awards will be handed out July 31.
