Showtime Invests in Laughing Stock From Steve Carell
Just months after leaving The Office, Steve Carell is returning to TV — albeit behind the scenes — with a new interview series on Showtime. Laughing Stock, executive-produced by Carell and David Steinberg, will bring on comedy greats from the last five decades for one-on-one discussions about their careers, influences and the evolution of comedy with Steinberg (Sit Down Comedy with David Steinberg).

Steve Carell on Office exit: Strange but bittersweet
Guests will include Mel Brooks, Tina Fey, Jerry Seinfeld, Jane Lynch, Larry David, Ellen DeGeneres, Judd Apatow, Carl Reiner, Chris Rock, Sarah Silverman and Don Rickles. "We have gathered a monumental assortment of comedic legends, and their contemporary protégés," said Carell, who's starring in the new feature film Crazy, Stupid, Love. "It's enlightening, fascinating, but more importantly, it's funny."
The first season of Laughing Stock will consist of 10 half-hour episodes, which will debut in early 2012.
