Ryan Seacrest is hosting the second edition of the Emmy Award-winning Idol Gives Back special on Wednesday, April 9, at 7:30pm/ET on Fox. Some new faces have been added to the roster of performers and personalities scheduled to appear, including presidential hopefuls Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama and John McCain. It will be very interesting to see who will truly be "giving back," and who will be stumping for votes. Vanity Fair has released pictures from its upcoming April issue featuring funny ladies Tina Fey, Sarah Silverman and Amy Poehler on the cover. They look more like Greek goddesses in flowing gowns than the "tomboy" garb they're usually photographed in on the job — the point being that women can be funny and hot. Just take a look at the VF site for yourselves. Me-ow!The inside article, "Who Says Women Aren't Funny," discusses why comediennes continue to carry a stigma. The mag tries to shatter that image and demonstrates (through multiple amazing Annie Leibovitz photos) just how many talented ladies we have that make us laugh every day. How Kimmel's Video Became a Star-studded Affair | Today's News: Our Take | 2/26/2008
After watching Jimmy Kimmel's hilarious post-Oscars "I'm F--king Ben Affleck" music video, I had one lingering thought I just couldn't put to rest: How in the world did they get stick-in-the-mud Harrison Ford to play along?Apparently, all they had to do was ask. When Affleck learned that Ford found the humor in an earlier video, in which Kimmel's girlfriend Sarah Silverman confessed to getting down with Matt Damon, they approached the Indiana Jones star and found him more than willing to play a part. Ford was just one in a shockingly large group of celebs, including Brad Pitt, Robin Williams, Cameron Diaz and Josh Groban, who were eager to make an appearance in Kimmel's jokingly vengeful retort.Even with all that star power on hand, shooting the clip took quite a while. New York's Daily News reports that the scene in which Kimmel and Affleck almost kiss required 10 takes because the pair couldn't stop laughing. If you thought Sarah Silverman's "I'm F**king Matt Damon" was the most hilarious video you'd ever seen, wait till you get a load of what Jimmy Kimmel did to strike back last night during his post-Oscar show. Not only did he whip up a ridiculously brilliant video featuring Matt Damon's "other half," Ben Affleck, as his love interest, but he also went on to recruit what appears to be all of Hollywood to serve as backup singers. Robin Williams, Don Cheadle, Cameron Diaz, Lance Bass, Josh Groban, Harrison Ford — it’s an endless list! Brad Pitt even makes a cameo as the Fed Ex guy. To celebrate her bf's 5th anniversary show, the hilariously crass Sarah Silverman surprised late-night host Jimmy Kimmel with a pre-taped music video featuring none other than Matt Damon. The only thing funnier than the lyrics of her song, “I’m f***king Matt Damon” are his wicked dance moves (he rides that pony like pro). Matt Damon was always considered a cool guy in our book, but he has taken it to a whole new level after watching the video. read more
