Tasmanian Devil Euthanasia Maya, the zoo's oldest Tasmanian devil, hasn't been moving too well. Maria Franke, the keeper and vet Graham Crawshaw catch Maya for a check-up. At the health center, they discover a large tumour around the devil's hips. Kudu Baby Today the vets and keepers are visiting a new arrival, a beautiful baby Kudu. They have to check the baby for sex, and see whether its legs are strong. They also tag it and take blood. Red Dog Primates, especially the very advanced ones like orangutans, always need enrichment to make their days more interesting. Today the keepers are putting a huge stuffed dog into the holding area with the youngest orang, 4-year-old Jahe.

Snow Leopard Intro Lena is a female snow leopard that has arrived from Halifax. For the past few days she has been in a holding beside the zoo's male snow leopard, Olaf. The keepers hope they will get to know each other and that they will breed. Today they will meet each other face-to-face in the exhibit for the first time. Elk Check-up The baby elk the zookeepers picked up a few days ago had its leg broken. The vets put a pin in the baby's leg to hold it together. Today they check on the fawn to see if it can walk with the pin in its leg. Zoofari Training Adam is a summer seasonal who is being trained to work on the zoo's Zoofari Show. He has to pretend he is being chased by a wild boar. The boar turns out to be a sow called Fly, who's holding "fake" tusks between her teeth.

Rebecca Final Training Today's the big day. Rebecca is a 6-year-old camel who Dan and Karen are training to give camel rides to zoo visitors. Today Karen will ride Rebecca for the first time while Dan attempts to keep her calm. Dyann Feeding Baby Gorilla The baby gorilla lives in the health center now. Here she has to be fed, cuddled and exercised several times every day. Today Dyann acts as the baby's surrogate mother while several other keepers watch through the glass from the hallway.

Johari Moves The baby gorilla has been named. She is Johari. Now that she's been nursed back to good health, the time has come to return her to the gorilla holding. She is put in a separate pen beside her mother Josephine. Here she will continue to be fed by the keepers, but mom can keep an eye on her and the rest of the gorillas can get used to her being around. Zoofari # 2 Now that Adam the seasonal keeper and Fly the sow have there act all worked out, it is time to perform in the zoo's Zoofari Show for the zoo visitors. Dyann and Stevie's Visit Dyann has just returned to the zoo after a two week holiday. She is anxious to visit Stevie in the African Pavilion. While visiting Stevie she sees how much he's grown and she takes him out of his cage to test his flying ability.

Alice's Birthday Alice is a goofy looking Bactrian camel. One of the best ride camels at the zoo, her jaw was broken in infancy by her mother and today her tongue hangs out of her mouth. It's her birthday and keepers Karen and Dan want to do something special for her. They let zoo visitors know there's going to be a small party and they make a cake of hay and vegetables and get together at the camel ride area for a birthday bash. Rengat the Tiger Rengat is a Sumatran tiger with an attitude problem. Each night when Des, his keeper, has to put him back into the tiger house, Rengat jumps at Des. Today Des shows us what it is like to bring Rengat in for the evening. Seal Death Nelson is a favourite of the seal keepers. He has been hand raised and trained by the keepers here at the zoo and has formed a close bond with them. A few days earlier he was having trouble breathing so the vets brought him to the health centre for observation. Today he has taken a turn for the worse.

Gorillas (Samantha and Josephine) Josephine is ready to be re-introduced to the gorillas after having her baby. The problem for keeper Heidi, is to get Samantha, the dominant female to accept her. Kay and the Older Animals Today, Dr. Kay Mehren, the head vet at the zoo, has to visit three of the oldest animals. Damian the jaguar, Charles the gorilla, and Abby the orangutan. They all have minor health problems that are nothing more than the symptoms of old age. While visiting the animals, Kay looks back on her 27 years at the zoo and how she says her job has changed from predominantly pediatric medicine to mainly geriatric treatment for the animals. Barb, Vickie and Winnie Winnie is a young seal that has to be trained to go into a crate for transporting. Keepers Barb and Vickie have no trouble getting Winnie into the box. But when Winnie sees the door she bolts for safety. So, today, they want to try the next step again - closing the door on the crate.

Tiger Cubs It's a big day for Ollie, the supervisor in the Australasia pavilion. Today he will finally get to check up on Tatiana, the Siberian Tiger's new babies Andrea and Ferrets (Airport) This is what it is all about for Andrea the ferret keeper. Today she has to catch and crate 24 ferret babies born this year and 3 adults. They are being taken to the airport to fly to the U.S. so they can be released back into their natural habitat. She and Charles have to work quickly so that the ferrets make their plane. Tahra and the Lanner Tahra is a seasonal keeper at the zoo who is being trained to work with the birds of prey in the bird show. She has worked with the small hawk before but today she gets to work with a bigger one, a Lanner named Maverick.
