Episode 13
Mon, Mar 31, 2008106 mins
Much of the show was a showcase of the career of Ric Flair, who had lost a "Career Threatening" match to Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV and, per pre-match stipulations had to retire. Past opponents toasted Flair as being the one of the sport's best-ever athletes; video highlights of some of his greatest matches were shown throughout the match. At the end of the night, Flair addressed the crowd and thanked them for their support through the years. The Big Show and Triple H offered words of thanks, and members of the longest-lived version of the Four Horsemen (Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard and Barry Windham, along with manager J.J. Dillon), along with Greg "the Hammer" Valentine and "King" Harley Race all came to the ring to embrace Flair. The entire WWE roster broke kayfabe to salute Flair in the ring. Earlier: * Randy Orton gloated about his victory to retain the WWE World Championship at WrestleMania, claiming the WWE was now in the "Age of Orton." JBL came out and challenged Orton, implying that he (Orton) was still champion by luck and not by dominance as JBL was during his WWE title reign (in 2004). As Orton was yelling back at JBL, Matt Hardy snuck in the ring and attacked Orton. * In the ring, Michaels talked about his WrestleMania victory over Flair, seeming to feel remorse over ending Flair's career. Throughout the evening, he paced around the back area and tried to shake his claim to being Flair's last opponent, even though several WWE stars (namely, William Regal) tried to convince Michaels that he did the right thing by pinning Flair. * The Big Show talked about his WrestleMania loss to Floyd Mayweather, then began talking about his memories of Ric Flair. In the middle of the promo, the Great Khali came out to challenge Big Show. Show refused to back down and told Khali he had better leave; Khali eventually left the ring but continued to yell back at Big Show. * Maria tried to convince Santino Marella to call off their "anything goes" match, but Marella refused. He then ranted about how he was "forced" to participate in the BunnyMania match (in lieu of the more prestigious "Money in the Bank" match) and then said that "divas should be walking around looking great making the a pasta and making the babies." Santino tried to back out of the match, but Maria slapped her "ex-boyfriend" across the face and stormed off. Santino angrily said he'll settle the matter in the ring. Match results * Cryme Time def. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. * Brian Kendrick and Paul London def. Hardcore Holly and Dustin Rhodes. * Chris Jericho def. C.M. Punk. * WWE Champion Randy Orton def. Matt Hardy to retain the title, following an RKO. * Maria def. Santino Marella in an "Anything Goes" match after the entire WWE Divas roster attacked Marella in the ring (in retaliation for sexist remarks Marella had made before).

Serious and not-so-serious segments centered around the 2008 presidential campaign. Serious moments come in the form of pre-taped segments from Democratic presidential candidates Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-New York) and Barack Obama (D-Illinois) , and presumed Republican nominee Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona). The comedic moment features impersonators portraying Clinton and Obama; "Hillary" was accompanied by her husband, former President Bill, who was also played by an impersonator. Clinton and Obama spoke their signature lines and briefly grappled with one another before Umaga came out and laid out both "Hillary" and "Obama;" "Bill" fled before Umaga could attack him. Shawn Michaels and Batista confronted each other about their upcoming match at WWE Backlash. Batista told Michaels that his targeting him is about the tactics he (Michaels) used to get to where he's at in his career, tactics he disapproves of. Michaels agreed and admitted his past victims are but collateral damage, then told Batista their differences will be settled at Backlash. Batista accepted Michaels' handshake, then pulled him in close for a staredown before leaving the ring, teasing a look or two back on his way out of the arena. Maria, accompanied by several face divas, introduced new WWE Women's Champion Mickie James, who upset Beth Phoenix for the title on April 14. Mickie was in the middle of her speech when Beth Phoenix (accompanied by several heel divas) came to the ring and said her winning the title back wasn't a matter of if, but when. A fight broke out, with the faces getting the upper hand. Match results KING OF THE RING 'Quarterfinals' * Chris Jericho def. MVP by submission in 5 minutes. * C.M. Punk pinned Matt Hardy after foiling a sunset flip attempt in 4 minutes. * Finlay def. The Great Khali by disqualification in 2 minutes when Khali refused to stop beating up Finlay. * William Regal def. Hornswoggle by submission in 15 seconds. 'Semifinals' * Punk pinned Jericho in 6 minutes following a "Go to Sleep." * Regal def. Finlay by referee's decision in 4 minutes after Finlay became trapped in the Regal Stretch and was unable to tap out. 'Finals' * Regal def. Punk by submission in 6 minutes to win the "King of the Ring" tournament. Other matches * Carlito pinned Hardcore Holly in 4 minutes following the "Back Stabber." Following the match, Santino Marella refused to heed Cody Rhodes' warning to shut up and (as promised) was struck over the head with Rhodes' microphone. * Edge, JBL, Randy Orton and Chavo Guererro def. The Undertaker, Kane, Triple H and John Cena in 9 minutes when Edge pinned Kane. A post-match mêlée ensued, ending when Undertaker chokeslammed Orton and JBL.

Episode 17
Mon, Apr 28, 200887 mins
A video review of "WWE Backlash" focuses on the Fatal Four-Way Elimination Match, wherein Triple H defeats WWE champion Randy Orton to become the new champion. In the ring, Triple H declared the "Age of Orton" officially dead, after which time Orton invoked his rematch clause for tonight. Triple H obliged, setting up the night's main event. By virtue of his "King of the Ring" tournament victory, William Regal was crowned "king." After boasting about his victory and vowing never to give up either his general managership or his throne, he insulted the audience. His tirade was interrupted by the returning Mr. Kennedy, who challenged Regal to a match. Things quickly degenerated into a pull-apart brawl. "The Highlight Reel": Chris Jericho, dressed in a tuxedo, came out to present the "Best Actor in Sports Entertainment" award. After playing clips of "Fuji General" (Magnificent Muraco and Mr. Fuji from a 1985 broadcast of "TNT") and a promo with Heindrich and Michael Cole (from a September 2004 broadcast of "SmackDown!", wherein Heindrich cornered Cole in a back room, read a hate-filled poem and attempted to sexually assault his victim), he brought out the "winner": Shawn Michaels. His reasoning: He claimed that Michaels had faked his knee injury during his win over Batista at "Backlash." Michaels stood silently as Jericho implored him, in essence, to stop faking his knee injury. Santino Marella was backstage and attempted to mingle with a person wearing a kilt. He hurled an insult at someone he thought was a Diva, but instead the person identified himself as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. After Marella insulted Piper about his past confrontations (including one with Cyndi Lauper during the "Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection" era), the Rowdy One slapped Marella across the face. "Does that boy have a death wish, or is he just special?" muttered Piper afterward. As the Triple H-Randy Orton match was reaching its apex, the scene cut back to the production truck, where a still-upset William Regal came in and demanded that the control board operator cut the show off immediately, claiming that the "disrespectful" fans didn't deserve to see the match's conclusion. When the operator refused, Regal grabbed him by the neck and repeated his order. The show ended thereafter. Match results * Mickie James, Ashley, Michelle McCool, Kelly Kelly, Maria and Cherry def. Beth Phoenix, Melina, Jillian, Victoria, Natalya Neidhart and Leyla when James pinned Hall. * JBL made short work of Robbie McAllister. Afterward, he challenged John Cena to a match. * Brian Kendrick and Paul London def. Trevor Cade and Lance Murdoch when Kendrick pinned Murdoch. After the match, Cade and Murdoch argued, the latest in a series of disagreements between the two. * Paul Burchell and Katie Lea def. Super Crazy in a 2-on-1 handicap "intergender" match when Katie Lea pinned Super Crazy. * Cody Rhodes def. Santino Marella. After the match, Rhodes was attacked by Carlito; Hardcore Holly ran in for the save. * The ending to the Triple H-Randy Orton match was not televised, having been cut off by General Manager William Regal; the action was in apparent retaliation for Kennedy interrupting Regal's coronation ceremony earlier in the evening and fans "disrespecting" him. (Note: Several wrestling Web sites later reported that, according to fans, Regal immediately came into the arena after the "cutoff" and demanded the match be stopped)

Episode 18
Mon, May 5, 200891 mins
After highlights are shown of King William Regal's ill-fated coronation ceremony, and Regal's subsequent "forcing" Raw off the air last week, WWE owner Vince McMahon defends Regal's actions as "visionary." Regal then addresses the crowd, and when they refuse to stop their catcalls, he momentarily orders the lights turned off. Shortly after the lights are brought up again, Kennedy comes out and demands a match. Later, Triple H comes out and tells Regal that he erred last week when he ordered his WWE championship match stopped vs. Randy Orton. Regal responds by forcing Triple H and Kennedy to team in a handicapped match vs. the 14-man ECW roster. Chris Jericho visits Regal's office, contending that Shawn Michaels was faking his knee injuries. Regal assures him that if that's the case, he'll have no problems teaming with him as they battle The Miz and John Morrison. Trish Stratus makes a cameo appearance backstage, acting unimpressed as Trevor Murdoch attempts to serenade her. Ron Simmons walks by and shouts "Damn!" After the segment ended, announcers Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler talked about Simmons' induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. In a backstage interview with Todd Grisham, Orton downplayed his disagreement over the interruption of his WWE Championship match last week but says he respects Regal's decision. During the Paul Burchill/Katie Lea tag team match, Regal orders Jim Ross' microphone shut off and asks Mike Adamle to serve as lead announcer. Lawler did his best to work with Adamle, but it was apparent that he couldn't wait for Ross to come back to the booth. Carlito's Cabana: Carlito decried Rowdy Roddy Piper's actions last week against Santino Marella before introducing Piper as his guest. After Piper and Carlito traded verbal jabs, Santino came out to attempt to give Piper his comeuppance, but Cody Rhodes came out and introduced Cryme Tyme. Shad and JTG then danced with Piper and Rhodes in the ring as the heels fled. Match results * Mickie James def. Beth Phoenix in a lumberjack match to retain the WWE Women's Title, when interference from Melina (on Phoenix's behalf) backfired. * Paul Burchill and Katie Lea def. John Cutler in a 2-on-1 inter-gender handicapped match. * Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho def. The Miz and John Morrison. Michaels continued to sell his "knee injury" after hitting Morrison with the Sweet Chin Music. * Randy Orton and C.M. Punk battled to a no-contest when General Manager King William Regal ordered the lights turned off. Following the commercial break, Orton angrily demanded to know Regal's whereabouts. * JBL def. D.H. Smith. * Team ECW def. Triple H and Kennedy when Chavo Guererro pinned Kennedy. Post match: Triple H beat back everyone on the ECW roster before the lights went down again. When they came back on, Orton immediately attacked Triple H.

Episode 19
Mon, May 12, 200883 mins
In the opening segment, ring announcer Lillian Garcia sings "God Save the Queen," with a stoic General Manager King William Regal standing at her side. Regal then cuts a promo denouncing the fans' "disrespect" as of late and then attempts to throw two people - who turn out to be members of Mickie James' family - out of the arena. James comes to ringside to protest, but Regal responds by threatening to strip her of her WWE Women's Title. John Cena intervenes, and then reads e-mails from fans who protested Regal's recent actions in regards to turning out the lights during matches. Regal, after promising not to turn the lights out tonight, announces a match pitting Cena vs. Randy Orton, and (in response to Cena's concern that JBL will interfere) that anyone who interferes would be suspended. The segment ends with Cena cutting a pro-American promo and having Garcia sing "R-E-S-P-E-C-T." Backstage segments included Todd Grisham interviewing Santino Marella about his recent feud with Roddy Piper, and Mickie James thanking John Cena for sticking up for her earlier. Cena accepts James' offer to accompany her out on the town later on (with her brother and his girlfriend). The Highlight Reel: Chris Jericho cut a promo saying that he now believes that, after their tag team match on the previous show, Shawn Michaels actually had a knee injury. Michaels came out and said that he was coming clean: He wasn't really injured, and that he simply lived up to his reputation of doing what it takes to win. Jericho scoffed and continued to insist that Michaels' injuries were legit ... until Michaels superkicked Jericho in the face. Michaels walked away, showing no apparent sign of injury. Melina and "Glamazon" Beth Phoenix begin arguing about their tag team match from earlier, the point of contention being over whom the easier opponent - Mickie James or Phoenix - would be for Melina if she were to wrestle for the WWE Women's Title. A pull-apart brawl ensued. Also: Grisham interviews Randy Orton about his upcoming match at WWE Judgement Day. Match results * WWE World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes def. Santino Marella & Carlito to retain the belts. Roddy Piper was at ringside on behalf of Holly-Rhodes. * Kennedy def. Snitsky. * WWE Women's Champion Mickie James & Maria def. "Glamazon" Beth Phoenix & Melina. During the match, Phoenix abandoned Melina, leaving the match to be a 2-on-1 affair. * Jeff Hardy def. Umaga. Regal set up the impromptu match as Hardy was attempting to address the crowd about wanting to become Intercontinental Champion. * Cryme Time def. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. Post-match: Cade and Murdoch cut a promo saying they had patched up their recent differences. As Murdoch was singing a few bars of Kenny Rogers' "The Gambler," Cade attacked Murdoch and walked away. * Randy Orton def. John Cena after referee JBL kicked Orton in the head, then administered a very fast three count; Regal appointed JBL the "guest referee" at mid-match. Post-match: Orton and JBL continue to attack Cena until Triple H interfered and began attacking Orton. As Cena and JBL brawled outside the ring, Orton gained the upper hand on Triple H. A cage was lowered to the ring, and Orton prepared to deliver more punishment, but Triple H regained the advantage. Orton made his getaway, while Triple H celebrated at the top of the cage.

The show opened with an in-ring promo by Chris Jericho, who commented on his interrupting Shawn Michaels' "retirement" announcement at SummerSlam the previous evening (the SummerSlam in-ring promo ended with Jericho attempting to hit Michaels but striking his wife, Rebecca Hickenbottom, instead). Jericho, refusing to accept responsibility for what happened the previous evening, said everything would have been easier had Michaels simply turned in his resignation and "retired" gracefully, and claimed that Michaels' last act in wrestling was cradling a dazed Rebecca's head in his arms. Jericho then pinned the blame on Rebecca being punched on Michaels and the fans, and that Michaels had it coming to him. Later in the show, a clip from post-SummerSlam, where Michael Cole attempted to interview Michaels and Rebecca, was played. Michaels, near tears, said he was going home to be with his wife and family, but didn't complete the rest of his thought (implying revenge). Also A backstage segment with Batista and John Cena.
