ALBANY, N.Y. - WWE Main Event featured three highly competitive contests including the latest bout in the storied rivalry of Wade Barrett and Randy Orton. Also, Zack Ryder battled Cody Rhodes in search of redemption after being decimated by Mark Henry on Raw. In the evening's third contest, U.S. Champion Antonio Cesaro faced a new challenge, squaring off with Sin Cara. Randy Orton def. Wade Barrett. Over the past few months, Randy Orton and Intercontinental Champion Wade Barrett have been engaged in a highly competitive rivalry with each Superstar besting the other on separate occasions. But before competing in the latest chapter of their ongoing enmity toward one another, The Bare-Knuckle Brawler took the opportunity to remind the WWE Universe of his role in the upcoming film "Dead Man Down." After regaling the WWE Universe with stories of the Hollywood life that seemed only to annoy the Albany, N.Y., audience, Barrett showed a video package promoting the film. The Intercontinental Champion continued to run his mouth, even directing insults at "The Marine 3: Homefront" star and WWE Main Event commentator The Miz. Finally, The Viper slid outside the ring and attacked his opponent, silencing the British grappler and tossing him in the ring to begin the match. Immediately, the WWE Universe was reminded why these two ring warriors share one of the most competitive rivalries in WWE. Gaining an early advantage, Orton was relentless in his offense, keeping his opponent from channeling his uncanny resilience and battling back effectively. Feeding off of the energy inside Albany's Times Union Center, WWE's Apex Predator maintained control of the contest until Barrett shifted the tide by moving outside the ring. Having competed against one another many times, both Superstars have an understanding of each other's strengths and weaknesses and must devise new strategies in the midst of battle whenever they compete. Although Barrett managed to rebound and keep Orton reeling late in the contest, The Viper's early dominance and the support of the WWE Universe kept him in the fight. As the Intercontinental Champion prepared to execute the Bull Hammer elbow, Orton countered with a power-slam followed by a devastating RKO to secure victory. Cody Rhodes def. Zack Ryder. After being flattened by Mark Henry on Raw, Zack Ryder sought redemption battling Cody Rhodes in WWE Main Event's second contest of the evening. Long Island Iced-Z was fired up, looking to knock the "love 'stache" right off Rhodes' face. The battle was evenly match throughout, with momentum shifting until Ryder missed the Broski Boot, allowing Rhodes to successfully execute the Disaster Kick. With his opponent reeling, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes executed Cross Rhodes and secured the win. Sin Cara def. Antonio Cesaro. ION Television's third bout of the evening featured United States Champion Antonio Cesaro facing masked high-flier Sin Cara. The styles of both Superstars in this contest could not be more different as Sin Cara relies on his lucha libre abilities and Cesaro uses pure strength against his opponents. The masked marvel's unorthodox and fast-paced style presented a new challenge for The Swiss Superman who has relied on high-impact power maneuvers to prove his might. Although the U.S. Champion used his power to try and keep Sin Cara grounded, the luchador's uncanny speed and agility proved to be too much for the Swiss-born Superstar. After reversing a power-bomb attempt from the top rope into an impressive hurricanrana, Sin Cara managed to pick up a huge upset victory over the United States Champion.

Episode 25
Wed, Mar 20, 201341 mins
Wade Barrett def. R-Truth. Two nights after narrowly defeating The Miz and Chris Jericho in an action-packed Triple Threat Match to retain the Intercontinental Championship, Wade Barrett shifted his focus to former U.S. Champion R-Truth. With The Miz at ringside calling the action, Barrett intended to send a message to The Awesome One - and all challengers - while continuing to build on the momentum of his Raw title defense. Since returning from injury, R-Truth has been building his own head of steam and derailing the Intercontinental Champion would certainly propel the rapping Superstar back into title contention. An experienced in-ring veteran, R-Truth was well aware that the only way to match up with the aggressive style of The Barrett Barrage was to channel the same vigor as his opponent. Relying on his quickness and agility, Truth's unorthodox style left the Intercontinental Champion reeling early in the contest. The resilience of The Bare-Knuckle Brawler was on display, withstanding the effective offense of R-Truth before turning the tide outside the ring. Once in control of the contest, Barrett made sure to capitalize on his brand of competitiveness, attacking his opponent with unbridled ferocity. R-Truth remained in the battle, however, regaining control by using his prowess to counter a number of the British brawler's high-impact maneuvers. The Intercontinental Champion nearly met defeat when his opponent countered his trademark Wasteland maneuver. Trying to regroup, Barrett rolled out of the ring as R-Truth reached for him through the ropes. In a devilishly wise move, Barrett pulled on Truth's arm - forcing his challenger to bounce off the ropes and to the canvas. Seizing the opportunity, the British Superstar rolled down his elbow pad, re-entered the ring and delivered a devastating Bull Hammer elbow to secure the victory. Following his impressive victory, the Intercontinental Champion made sure to take a moment to gloat about the win and the effectiveness of The Barrett Barrage. As he addressed the WWE Universe, Barrett made sure to specifically target his opponent from Raw, The Miz. Shoving The Awesome One, the star of "The Marine 3: Homefront" exploded from his chair and attacked the Intercontinental Champion, sending him away from the ring. Sheamus re-enforced his uncertainty about the possibility of teaming with Big Show against The Shield at WrestleMania. Natalya and Layla def. Alicia Fox and Aksana. After setting their animosity aside visiting families in Malaria ravaged Rwanda, Natalya and Alicia Fox were all business on WWE Main Event, facing off in Divas tag team action. The competitive nature of all four Divas was certainly on display. There was no love lost between the four beauties and momentum shifted back and forth early on. Once Layla tagged in Natalya, though, the third-generation Diva showed off her aggressive side. With her tag team partner keeping Aksana at bay, Natalya locked the Sharpshooter on Alicia to secure the victory. The Usos def. The Prime Time Players. Two of WWE's most impressive tag teams locked up in the final contest on WWE Main Event. The Usos and The Prime Time Players each possess unparalleled teamwork and the high-flying style of the twin Usos provided an interesting match-up against the strength of WWE NXT alums Darren Young and Titus O'Neil. Harmoniously in sync with one another, The Usos took the fight to Darren Young early on, tagging in and out flawlessly and frustrating O'Neil. Regrouping, O'Neil entered the contest and used his raw power and athleticism to regain control of the battle. Taking both Usos to task, O'Neil allowed enough time for his partner to recover and The Prime Time Players had their sights set on victory. The agility and teamwork of the Uso twins proved to overwhelm Young and O'Neil, though, and a late rally allowed the sons of Rikishi to seize an opportunity to execute a high-flying Superfly Splash for an impressive and hard-fought victory.
