Benny and Tom are perplexed by the odd reactions of their teacher Mr Fisher and their classmates after visiting Room 12, a seemingly ordinary photo-copying room. Eventually they discover that the room has been turned into a giant work-place and that the pupils, teacher and Tom's father have become a zombie labour force, thanks to the Prospector, who works for the inter-galactic Consolidation, and who plans to harness their brain power to drill to the Earth's core and remove the fusion sphere, causing the total collapse of the planet.
