Justin and Zeke are running against each other for student body president, Zeke declares that it is time for him to be more independent from Justin, but if he gives him a good reason, he would vote for him. Meanwhile, Alex is running for speaker of the assembly in order to get free time to pull pranks around the school. Harper tells her that her pranks were getting out of hand and Alex comments on how hilarious her last prank was, accidentally confessing in front of the principal, landing her in Saturday detention. While she is at detention, the rest of the family decides to go to all of the places that she had been banned from, which are all islands. Justin says to Harper that Alex thinks that on an island, there are no rules. When Harper adds that they live on Manhattan Island, Justin asks her if it explains a lot to her.Just as they were about to leave, Mr. Laritate comes to the door to take Justin to detention. He doesn't know why and is very scared of a boy named Eddie, who is also in detention. When the door is opened, they find the room covered in vote for Justin posters, a prank that Mr Laritate thinks was done by Justin. Then, a girl who you soon find is named Stevie walks in, saying that she was late because of a phone call with Eddie's Mom, who, she claims said that Eddie had to get out of her chair. Mr. Laritate says that she makes Alex look like Justin. He leaves and Alex asks Stevie how she got into detention so fast. Stevie says that she got into trouble in her old school and they had her making up detention there, but she didn't mind because it's the best way to meet "her people." Alex takes out a hidden pillow, alarm clock, and hammock. She sets the alarm clock to play the sound of a gentle rain. Eddie says that she has to turn it down, because it made him have to go numero uno, then declaring: "That's right, I speak French!" Stevie walks up to it, turns up the volume and says: "Well, wi-wi" getting a high five from Alex. Later, when Alex wakes up, Eddie says that he doesn't vote, but if he did, it would be for Justin because of the prank. Meanwhile, Harper, Max and Jerry are stuck on top of the Cony Island ferris wheel, they all get hungry and discover Harper's cracker ans salami earrings, declaring that they were saved. Harper is then flashed out by Alex, who was out of detention. She says that she wants to find whoever actually pulled to pull the prank to help with her campaign. When Harper sees it, she doesn't know whether it's the greatest prank ever pulled, or a new design idea for her bedroom. They discover that even the stapler was wrapped, by someone with nimble fingers and lots of down time. Harper says that it is her, but Alex reminds her that it's not. When Harper says that she wishes the posters could talk, Alex uses magic to do so and asks who did it. The poster told her that he couldn't tell her because she was going to vote for him and he promised not to do it. Harper again insists that it must be her, because she was voting for him. Alex insists that it wasn't her and they leave. Eddie and Them, a gang led by Eddie, tell Justin that he could hang with them. He does as they say (untie his shoes and wear his pants lower) and tells Zeke that Eddie and them were his "crew" and, to impress them, pretends to throw a rock at Zeke. At the election, Eddie and Them showed up and told Justin that they had voted for him, and their votes put him over the top, but Mr. Laritate says that he is disqualified for the prank and Alex claims that she did it. Stevie then walks in and says that it was actually her who wrapped the room in the posters, and directed at Alex, even the stapler.She then opened her locker and Vote for Justin posters fell everywhere. She got three Saturday detentions and told Mr Laritate that she wasn't busy on the fourth Saturday, and maybe they could do something. She tells them that she knew if Justin got detention, Eddie and Them would vote for him and he'd win. She later tells Alex the real reason, that the second biggest troublemaker in the school was the sister of the president, and there was a lot of ways to go with that.Alex and Stevie say that they could be good friends, much to the dismay of Harper, until Stevie does as Alex says and tells Harper that her dress is pretty. Alex flashes Harper back to the Ferris wheel, which is still stuck, but not before she could grab her jerky jacket.
