Episode 1
Jenny and Gabe's windfall is bringing her no peace of mind. Certain the other shoe is moments away from dropping, Jenny is constantly on the lookout for the thing that might undo all her good fortune this time. When Gabe's smoking-hot new protégé Riley arrives, Jenny fears she's found the source of her future trouble. However, Jenny's about to discover she's judging a very pretty book entirely by her cover.
Episode 2
Jenny's world is rocked when she discovers, much to her surprise, that she's pregnant. However, she fears all is not well and a quick consult with Sophie suggests they may have had a false start. Jenny and Gabe are philosophical - they're not ready for children just yet - but things take a complicated turn as it emerges the pregnancy is actually ectopic. Weathering the rollercoaster of emotions, Jenny makes a determined choice to focus on how lucky they were the issue was caught early. She still wants a family with Gabe but right now she's happy to embrace their carefree lives and make the most of being newlyweds. Frances struggles to let Keith in, feeling disloyal to the father who raised her. However, when Keith teaches her a little about himself, Frances starts to develop a connection.
Episode 3
When Jenny is offered a permanent job at Millner Boys,' she's in two minds. She loves teaching but misses the camaraderie she had with Rob. Maybe it's time to try a new school and new adventures before she and Gabe start a family. But then she meets the new Year 8 Co-ordinator, Eliza, whose progressive style of teaching resonates with Jenny. The two click immediately and a subsequent night of roller derby helps Jenny realise Eliza's friendship may be the adventure she's been looking for.
Episode 4
Frances is shocked to learn the money for Keith's cancer treatment is due in two days. As she scrambles to find the money, Bridget meets Keith and, finding him not quite right, gets in touch with Lily to validate his story. Frances is irritated when Lily arrives on her doorstep, adamant Keith is lying. Refusing to believe her, Frances transfers the full payment to the treatment centre - only for Bridget and Lily to figure out that Keith is a con man. It's up to Bridget to make the scales fall from Frances' eyes but once they do, it's a race against time to stop Keith before he leaves the country with Frances' money - and her pride.
Episode 5
Frances has shut out the world in the wake of Keith's scam. Pete sticks by her side but is bewildered she still won't report Keith to the police. Assuming it's because she's embarrassed, supportive Pete makes the call for her - only to discover the money she gave Keith was unethically "borrowed" from a client account. Always intending to pay it back, Frances scrambles to get her own cash transferred in time but will luck be on her side or has she put her - and Bridget's - entire livelihood at risk? Riley's cyberbully becomes increasingly aggressive in his tactics, Jenny feels like the invisible woman, and Luke takes Sophie and Alex fishing to resolve their conflict.
Episode 6
Suspended from practice and burdened with guilt, Frances decides to own up to misappropriating her client's funds. The stress puts pressure on her relationship with Pete and she eventually snaps, blaming him for making her soft and vulnerable to Keith's scam. When Bridget takes the fall for Frances' mistake, claiming she accidentally made the transfer, Frances is allowed to stay open - albeit with conditions. The business may be safe but has she done irreparable damage to her relationship? Riley's determined to impress Colin Gammell, an investor, but she's worried he won't take her seriously because of her age. The revelation of Alex's drug debt drives a wedge between Sophie and Luke. Jenny gets cold feet in her and Gabe search's for a family home.
Episode 7
Following Cain's death, Sophie struggles with what the event says about her as a person and finds herself overwhelmed with guilt and grief. Luke wants to help her through it but Sophie doesn't know what she needs or how to let him in. This feeling of Sophie's is deep set and primal, so when she finds herself back in the bar with Alex one night, a spontaneous - and very fraught - solution, presents itself as a possibility. Meanwhile, Frances finds herself working under a new mentor, Riley's new Mr Right casually drops a startling revelation, and a fracture appears in Team Reynolds.
Episode 8
One week on and guilt-ridden Sophie still hasn't answered Luke's proposal. In fact it's still a secret to their family and friends - until Alex discovers the ring. Wanting his brother to be happy, Alex pressures Sophie to accept but before she can decide, Luke withdraws his offer. However, Sophie and Luke soon realise they can't just go back to how they used to be. There's been a seismic shift in their relationship and it's a make or break time for them as a couple. As Jenny's attitude towards her marriage problems improves, Gabe's deteriorates.
Episode 9
It's the morning after Gabe's drunken mistake and Riley's response is immediate - she contacts Zuko and lines up a new job. The kiss was a wake up call, forcing her to confront the person she's becoming and she finds she doesn't like it. After advice from Frances, Riley breaks up with Ethan and holds out an olive branch to Jenny - all too aware that the damage could be irreparable.
Episode 10
Eager for some time away, Jenny organizes a 'glamping' trip for the girls. When Sophie and Frances convince Riley to tag along, Jenny's furious, not ready to be around the woman Gabe cheated with. But Jenny eventually confronts her marriage issues, and she and Riley tentatively reconcile. Jenny returns home with new perspective, keen to talk to Gabe. But can they repair their fractured marriage?
Episode 11
Frances' blasé attitude to the celebration of milestones is revealed to be a poor attempt to cover her nerves about attending Pete's parents' fortieth wedding anniversary. Despite her fears, the Reeveses are warm and welcoming but their tight-knit family values give her pause for thought about how much she's asked Pete to compromise by being with her. Accepting that marriage genuinely means a lot to him, Frances suggests they get hitched. But can Pete get her down the aisle before she changes her mind?
Episode 12
Frances' blasé attitude to the celebration of milestones is revealed to be a poor attempt to cover up her nerves about attending Pete's parents' 40th wedding anniversary. We see a wedding, a possible pregnancy and Luke finds out about Sophie's infidelity.
Episode 13
Happily reunited with Gabe and keen to celebrate their pregnancy, Jenny braces herself for the return of the Gross family. For all the teasing, she's pleased to be back in their warm embrace and grateful she can put her burdens down for a while and be looked after. But a trip down memory lane shows Jenny she's at her best when she's brave and when she and Gabe are presented with one last challenge, Jenny's forced to consider whether she's willing to give up and take the safe option or if she's strong enough to keep fighting for their future.
