Over two million followers online want to see how the "Paleo Girl" brings the Stone Age back to life on Lake Constance. When Katrin Baumann, as Paleo Girl is actually called, tries to push a prehistoric boat into the lake one morning, she is drugged from behind and kidnapped. Julia and Jakob are able to reconstruct this from the evidence after they have discovered the abandoned boat on the lake and, with Mechthild's help, the crime scene. The investigation leads them into a world where the website is constantly busy, clicks and followers are all that matters. Katrin's boyfriend, the nerdy Luka, seems to be more interested in his online profile than in the fate of his girlfriend. He is frightened by the thought that Paleo Girl's big competitor, Janko Reinert, could now gain more fans. With a trick, Jakob is able to expose the true identity of the Paleo hater "Rulaman 666". He had made massive threats to the beautiful Stone Age researcher online. But Fabian Krause has an alibi for the time of the crime. Then events take a turn: While trying to match a tire track, Julia is attacked - and finds herself tied up in a cellar side by side with Katrin. Nele and Paul do not miss how personally Jakob suddenly takes the case. During the investigation, Julia and Jakob grow closer, but they remain professional. While Jakob risks everything on his own, Julia enables Katrin to be freed. The happy ending seems close. But then someone turns out to be a big liar and two others discover their feelings.

A radio message from Paul tears Julia and Jakob away from their lovemaking on the Bodan. The body of a competitive rower who died during training has disappeared from the funeral home. The young widow Leni Senger is stunned. The undertaker Lotte Reichelberger is under a terrible suspicion when Nele discovers that her deceased husband was dealing in body parts... Nele has gently forced her son to do an internship with the police because she is annoyed by his apparent inactivity. But he is anything but enthusiastic about his "mandatory internship". Nele's mood doesn't improve when she catches Julia and Jakob throwing paper balls in the office instead of continuing to investigate the missing body. When the two finally arrive at the funeral home, they witness an argument between the owner and Manfred Lindner. He has not only lost his son in a motorcycle accident. He is also a veteran rowing coach who is being begged by the rower Gesa Gutmann to help her with her last chance to qualify for the Olympics. A wide field opens up for the WaPo Bodensee investigation, and they are in for a big surprise. And Niklas can also score points at the police station with his drone flying skills. Only the lovers experience an unpleasant surprise.

Paul takes part in an open water swim. In the middle of the lake, a swimmer next to him gets into trouble and dies. The dead man is the businessman Max Behringer, who has made many enemies with a wind farm project on the Swiss Seerücken. The island of Reichenau directly opposite is therefore in danger of losing its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with corresponding consequences for tourism. Nele and Julia ask around on Reichenau and become aware of Behringer's sister Tina Leiner. She runs a hotel and would be particularly affected by the indirect effects of the wind farm. But Behringer's business partner Urs Thaler and his partner Jan Hermann also have their reasons for murder. Paul and Jakob are investigating Behringer's Swiss environment. They are assisted by the brittle Swiss colleague Ladina Brugger, who has her own qualities. Julia and Jakob, on the other hand, show few qualities. After Nele discovers their relationship and gives them an ultimatum, the lightness no longer really sets in. Julia believes that she will make Jakob unhappy, and after a conversation with Mechthild, he makes a momentous decision. Mechthild tells her lodger Jakob that she has only ever regretted the things in life that she did not do.

"Not even two weeks," is Mechthild's prediction for the future of the WaPo lovers Julia and Jakob. In fact, the first frictions between the two arise when solving the Kaltenbrunner case. In the process, they have to solve the terrible death of Max Dohm. The working student was locked in his employer Jürgen Kaltenbrunner's yacht, which sank with the "Bodenseeperle" early in the morning and is now being rescued by divers from a depth of 18 meters. Anne Kaltenbrunner and her daughter Celina seem surprised when they hear of Max's death. And Jürgen Kaltenbrunner thinks he remembers that the popular Max had a serious argument with Dominik Peschel. Dominik is secretly in love with Celina... But then it turns out that Celina's mother had an affair with Max and the cards are reshuffled, alibis crumble, and false trails are laid. And while Paul is already talking to a potential successor to Jakob at WaPo Bodensee, things are heading towards a dramatic finale on the lake that no one would have expected.

Bomb alert on Lake Constance. An unexploded bomb from the Second World War has washed up and must be rendered harmless. Under the command of Matthias Krämer, the defusing of the dangerous anchor mine begins. Paul is also on site. He and his friend Matthias know each other from their time together in Afghanistan, where they were involved in setting up the local police force. The young explosives expert Sven Sailer is to defuse the mine. Matthias, Paul and Sven's colleagues Alexandra Schulz and Hadi Bozkurt remain connected to the young man via radio and GoPro video transmission. When Sven takes a closer look at the mine, the unthinkable happens: It explodes. Sven has no chance. His death is a shock for everyone. A tragic accident? But then Paul and the forensic team find evidence that the apparent industrial accident was an assassination attempt: someone deliberately detonated the mine remotely using modern explosives. When Julia brings the news to Sven's wife Steffi, the pregnant woman collapses. Nele and Paul discover that the explosives come from the weapons depot of the bomb disposal service in Friedrichshafen. When Paul confronts Matthias, who is responsible for the depot, he admits that 40 kilos of explosives and 15 high-precision detonators were recently stolen from the depot. Is the thief also responsible for Sven's death? And who is the mysterious Afghan woman with whom Paul apparently has a very personal history and who now urgently needs his help?

Episode 6
48 mins
Mechthild lets Nele and the almost bald Jakob take part in her training to become a tour guide. She describes the story of the Gnadensee particularly vividly. In the Middle Ages, those sentenced to death were pushed from the boat into the lake after ringing a bell - with the chance of saving themselves by swimming... Franziska Grünwald, the owner of the Magellan sailing school, reports Lea Klein missing. When Julia and Jakob find one of Lea's sneakers in the lake and shortly afterwards her dinghy, their suspicions seem to be confirmed. Lea must have capsized during the night. But Julia has doubts, because the night was windless and Lea is an experienced sailor. Lea's single father, Robert Klein, is shocked. The skipper, who works all over the world, blames himself greatly for always having too little time for his daughter. His anger is directed at Nicole and Milena. The three girls were best friends and spent every summer at the Magellan sailing school. Robert believes Milena and Nicole incited Lea to do something stupid. Nicole and Milena claim that Lea suddenly disappeared during the night, but Nele doubts this. Then it turns out that Franziska Grünwald was robbed. 60,000 euros have disappeared. Money that Robert also knew about. Was there an argument between Lea and Franziska? What did Nicole and Milena know about it? It has long been clear that hurt feelings also play a role. Paul gives the case a decisive twist when he demonstrates an old sailor's trick. Buried feelings awaken in him because he meets Amira again for the first time in years. After fleeing Afghanistan, she needs a place to stay and something to eat. Paul begins a solo tour under Nele's suspicious gaze.

Episode 7

Two boats are racing across Lake Constance early in the morning. One of the boats overlooks an unsuspecting swimmer. The emergency doctor can only confirm his death. There is no trace of the driver. While Paul is more concerned with Amira than his job, Julia is able to locate the boat that caused the accident. It belongs to Stefan Lang, a local politician. The boat had been reported stolen shortly before. The only strange thing is that its lock is undamaged. Suspicion soon falls on Noah, Lang's son, who lives with his divorced mother. During questioning, Noah denies the crime. But he can't fool his parents. They advise Noah - not entirely selflessly - to keep quiet... Meanwhile, Paul is pulling out all the stops to get Amira papers and a place to stay. He fears that she is going astray to secure her livelihood when he catches her at a photo shoot. But his wife Christina is on to him, catching the two in flagrante delicto on their boat. So Nele is amazed when she finds Paul sleeping in the police station cell in the morning. His wife has thrown him out. Then a blackmail letter turns up at Lang's house about the alleged cover-up of the accident. Lang deposits 75,000 euros on the lake using a buoy - and suddenly disappears... Now Jakob's presence of mind is needed.

Amira has been hired as a cleaner by a cleaning company. Her boss Alex Richmonder is not on good terms with her and threatens her over the phone while she is cleaning up blood residue on a yacht and finding a friend's gold chain. A short time later, Amira is dead. Paul is immediately taken off the ongoing investigation. But he cannot observe this case from a distance. The ex-policeman Richmonder is suspected of the crime. Paul investigates on his own and conceals important details, which not least puts a strain on his private life. When he takes Richmonder to Nele at night, she loses her temper and Mechthild has to perform unusual services. While Nele locks Richmonder up for sinking his gun in the lake, Jakob directs the investigation towards yacht owner Sascha Wiegler. He is having his boat steam cleaned while his dock neighbor Lara Mangold mocks him. But the two have more in common than it initially seems. For Paul, everything is now at stake: his marriage to Christina and his future as a police officer. It's good that Nele has a big heart.

But when Frank is found dead, Tobias' dream threatens to burst. Because not only the chef Lena is keen on the restaurant, but also the real estate speculator Maria Reddemann. But who killed Frank? Tobias claims to have caught the alleged perpetrator red-handed. Julia reconstructs the crime with him. Frank was beaten to death with a rounded object. Tobias's cane? And then a fingerprint leads to the trail of the fired kitchen assistant Michael Radny. Paul catches the fleeing Radny after a chase across the lake. But it quickly becomes clear that the matter could be much more complicated. In addition, after a SUP tour together, Julia feels attracted to the charismatic blind chef. Jakob is jealous, even though the two are now just colleagues again. Or is there more between them than they would like to admit? Niklas notices that Mechthild keeps forgetting things. He tells his mother Nele. She knows that there is dementia in the family and asks Noah to secretly do a dementia test with Grandma.

Episode 10

The discovery of the body of physics professor Franziska Ernhardt leads investigators Nele Fehrenbach and Paul Schott to the University of Konstanz. Was the scientist the victim of a relationship dispute? Her affair with student Dirk Abmeyer, who is actually in a relationship with her young colleague Lenka Kurilova, suggests this. But both deny the crime. A break-in at Franziska's office leads the investigation in a new direction: the murdered woman was apparently gathering information that proves corruption on the part of the dean of the faculty, Luca Romero. Had Ernhardt blackmailed him with her knowledge in order to succeed him in his position? And how does the Austrian guest lecturer Hannah Havas fit into this picture? Romano had personally appointed her and wooed her at the university's expense. But then a 2000-year-old ring is found in the murdered woman's stomach. Had the professor swallowed the piece of jewelry as a message to the investigators? The officers soon become specialists in archaeology and find an exciting lead. But the new knowledge doesn't help them much. First, they are surprised by a hostage situation. The police must prevent the suspects from escaping at all costs.

Episode 11

Patrycja Sikora is found strangled to death on the shore of Lake Constance. When the autopsy shows that she had had sex immediately before the murder, but that rape can be ruled out, the police have a lot of evidence that it was a crime of passion. Ex-boyfriend Nico Nolte reports a consensual break in the relationship, but also that a mysterious stranger recently tried to tell him who Patrycja had an affair with in exchange for money. Paul and Jakob believe that Ralf Kräcker - husband of Patrycja's employer Ines Kräcker - could be the said affair. He could even be a possible murderer. But Ralf receives unexpected backing from his wife Ines. But she is playing her own game. Ines has had private investigator Elke Brandt shadow her husband for weeks. And this Elke is an old acquaintance of Nele. It was also at her instigation that Elke was expelled from the police academy in Hamburg 25 years ago. And Nele quickly realizes that she shouldn't be trusted too much now either. Elke meets with Ralf and makes demands. The police now have to act very quickly.

Nele's son Niklas even forces her to create a playlist, Paul swaps shifts with Julia, and then one night on a stormy sea, the investigation of the surfer who was struck by lightning turns into a drama that could cost Julia and Nele their lives. Yasira, the surfer's girlfriend, tells the police that she suspects her boyfriend has taken the trendy drug Tilidin, which leads to overestimation of one's own abilities. Suspicion quickly falls on Emmy, who not only works as a waitress in the surfer bar "Hang Loose", but is also picked up by Paul and Jakob after a rampage across Lake Constance in her father's boat. She has a drug past and has just been through rehab. The fact that she can't get along with her stepmother Babette and that she keeps causing her father Sebastian conflicts of conscience remains a secret from the police for a long time. But Julia does notice that something is wrong with the parcel acceptance in her shop. Then one of the customers on the lake refuses to accept a parcel. Sebastian Rau becomes suspicious and opens the box. His world falls apart, while Yasira meets Emmy and apparently wants to bury the hatchet. When Niklas tells her that he is chatting with her father and hated her for breaking up with them, Nele makes a momentous decision that surprises absolutely everyone. Even her mother.

Episode 13

A series of drone attacks shakes the perfect yacht world on Lake Constance. So-called "saviors of the world" use drones to place packages with a timer on the boats. In panic, the passengers jump overboard. Over breakfast at the Fehrenbach house, a controversial discussion about these attacks ensues. Mechthild reminds her daughter Nele that she also went on demonstrations for peace and climate protection in her youth. Niklas sits there, seemingly disinterested, and considers not going to university after all. Meanwhile, the leader of the "saviors of the world" approaches another yacht with an accomplice and a drone in the boat. It belongs to the doctor Dr. Kampmann. Here, too, a man and a woman jump overboard. This leaves Kampmann junior, a "savior of the world", disturbed - because the woman who jumped at his father's side was clearly not his mother. Later, he confronts his father. When Jakob questioned him, he concealed the existence of the girlfriend on board. When she is later found drowned, Nele and Paul are already in a state of emergency. Mechthild found a mask of the "Saviors of the World" while vacuuming in Niklas' room. Then a bomb explodes for the first time. Nele issues an arrest warrant for her own son, while the "Saviors of the World" become more radicalized. The next live bomb is being built. Then a clue from the KTU gives Paul an idea.

Episode 14

Nele had imagined it completely differently. The anniversary celebration of her high school class on the event ship "Wilbert" ends the next morning with the death of her former classmate Conny Wilbert. Conny had been with Benni since school, and he recovered her body from Lake Constance. Paul quickly realises: it was murder. Benni's suspicions immediately fall on Eva Thiel, who he says has been stalking him for a week. For Nele, who has also known Eva since school, this is more of a loving gesture. She is suspicious of the waitress Mira Selig. She had an argument with Conny that evening and also owes her 10,000 euros. And then things get really tough for Nele: her old friend Johannes Lasch, who had once left her and stayed away from the celebration on the "Wilbert", has recently started running a wine shop with Benni, selling supposedly fine wines. He tries to escape from Jakob. In vain. He also finds the murder weapon, a pipe with traces of blood, under Johannes' bed. Nele's ex has to go to jail. Mechthild, of all people, advances the investigation with old memorabilia from the attic, which she is currently clearing out with Niklas' help. In between, she plays a video game with her grandson. Nele can't believe it.

Episode 15
48 mins
After a raid on a gold transport, the perpetrators flee across Lake Constance. When the engine of their boat breaks down, Tamara Sedlak and her friend Antonio Krusewitz hijack the boat of Frederik Schick and his brother-in-law Oliver Danner. Because Frederik resists, a shot goes off from Antonio's gun. Oliver is fatally wounded. Frederik can hardly look his sister Lea Louise Danner in the eye when he tells her the sad news at a playground. In order to at least be able to help her financially, he makes a fatal decision that also brings the robbers back into the picture. They had to leave the gold, worth 300,000 euros, at the bottom of Lake Constance. While Nele and Paul quickly find their way to the shipyard where the escape boat was stolen and Antonio works, they have no idea what disaster is brewing for Lea Louise. At home, however, chaos has broken out: a cousin who emigrated to Italy decades ago has left her household goods to Mechthild. Two budgies, a double bass and a motorcycle trailer suddenly appear in front of the house. For Niklas, this is the perfect opportunity for a joyride - without a helmet and without a driving license.

Episode 16
48 mins
The wheezing distress call that reaches Nele and Julia on a patrol trip by radio comes from big fisherman Heiko Frömmke. The two find him dead on his yacht. Heart failure. But the laboratory discovers that the whitefish that the businessman had eaten shortly before had been poisoned with ecstasy. That's why Paul quickly suspects Frömmke's fun-loving young wife Sabrina, who gets out of a friend's car in high spirits when the detectives bring her the news of her husband's death. However, the fisherwoman Clauda Schaub would also have reason enough to be happy about Frömmke's death. The businessman had bullied her several times and pressured her to give him her fishing license. Jakob is the first to realize that Frömmke had shady dealings with the Bulgarian fishmonger Bulat Umarov. He delivered Kazakh whitefish to Lake Constance in large trucks, where they were put in a tank and reclassified as Lake Constance whitefish - simply because Lake Constance no longer produces enough fish to meet demand. Umarov puts pressure on Sabrina Frömmke to sell her husband's business to him, while Sabrina's lover Steffen Kamp wants to take her to a nice hotel in Switzerland. Then Sabrina finds the office devastated and Julia receives interesting information from the Bulgarian police. Only Nele's presence of mind prevents another murder. At her home, another drama is taking place: Mechthild has received a goldfish from a friend to look after, which Niklas wants to look after. But the fish soon stops moving.

Episode 17
48 mins
The shots at Nele come without warning. Hit, she collapses on the Bodan in front of Paul's eyes. The apparently driverless yacht Drako, which the two wanted to check, picks up speed and disappears. Shots at police officers are a case for the Konstanz public prosecutor Gregor Mertens, who gets involved in the investigation. While Nele discharges herself from the hospital and appears like a ghost to her worried mother Mechthild, Julia and Jakob first track down the owner of the yacht, the lawyer Robert Grimm, and then his Drako on Lake Überlingen. On board is a dead junkie with a weapon whose caliber would fit. Case solved, thinks public prosecutor Merten. But he has not reckoned with Nele, who, pumped full of painkillers and sleeping pills, continues the investigation - and gets very close to the public prosecutor in the process... In the meantime, the police have found the dead junkie's roommate, Luca Smolka, on a campsite. His statements open the door to club owner Sandro Kubitschek, who obviously mistreated his wife Miriam and who has so far always slipped through the police's grasp. His business partner Baz Lehmann is not on good terms with him because Kubitschek still owes him money. The police look for Kubitschek and find his lawyer. Nele visits Miriam Kubitschek to make her an offer. In the end, Nele is lying in her own garden with a gun and a dead body next to her. Shot. By Nele?

Episode 18

Nele is suspected of murder and doesn't remember anything in prison. She is said to have shot Sandro Kubitschek in the heat of the moment when he visited her at home and tried to threaten her. Public prosecutor Gregor Mertens is doing everything he can to get Nele out of the matter as legally unscathed as possible. He forbids the team from interfering in the case any further. Paul, Jakob and Julia, however, have no intention of sitting still. They firmly believe that Nele would never be capable of such an act. In order to be able to research undisturbed, they move their headquarters to Mechthild's house, where Nele's mother soon makes a strange discovery... Kubitschek's business partner Baz Lehmann has an alibi and is still waiting for Kubitschek's debts to be repaid. His wife Miriam is preparing her escape and is scared to death when Paul knocks on her door. At least she knows who has been doing business with her husband recently. When the secret investigators find ammunition at a shooting range in the forest, thanks to an illegal investigation by Max, that was also used to shoot Nele, it becomes clear to them that Nele is being framed for a huge mess. But does prosecutor Mertens also accept the evidence that was found behind his back? After all, lawyer Grimm has discovered every legal weakness so far.

Instead of Paul, Julia and Jakob, they are met by the key witness Baran Buljakow, who has been freed by his wife Shiba, and his clan friends Victor and Anatol in police uniforms. Nele's colleagues, on the other hand, are crouching naked on the floor. Nele resorts to a ruse, escapes and calls the SEK while the hostage takers prepare their escape across the lake. But a surprise awaits Buljakow. With the help of her SEK colleague Noel Jaspers, Nele finds out a secret that completely reshuffles the cards. She gives herself up as a hostage in exchange for Julia. Just as the SEK has the hostage takers in their sights, Mechthild rushes in. She is scared to death for Nele. Another shot is fired and hits.

Nele and Mechthild receive an unexpected visit early in the morning from their neighbor Steffi Hillebrand. Steffi is upset - her house has been broken into and her husband has disappeared. Nele immediately investigates and discovers Roland Hillebrand, floating lifeless in Lake Constance not far from his property. Was he the victim of a robbery and murder? After all, there is currently a series of break-ins. Then it turns out that, contrary to Steffi's original statement, the Hillebrands' marriage was over. In fact, the couple were in the middle of divorce proceedings. The next clue leads to Boris Kukies, who, after serving a prison sentence, works in his brother Anton's water taxi business. Paul Schott doesn't believe a word Boris says. Anton first gives his brother an alibi and then - annoyed by Boris's crooked dealings - turns him in. Boris is caught red-handed. When Hillebrand's jewelry is found at Boris Kukies's, he protests his innocence and has a phone call with his brother that shocks everyone involved. Jakob makes a discovery that puts everything in a new light. And Julia finds threats from the dead man on his cell phone.
