British TV star chef Carluccuo and his faithful assistant Gennaro embark on a journey back to their native Italy, to revisit the culinary paradise they left decades ago. They start in Gennaro's home north easter region, Emilio Romagna, enjoying i capital Bologna and smaller towns rich gastronomic traditions, including prime meats, wines, pasta and balsamic. They deplore they demise of the family dinner-devoted mama and nonna (granny), but find some solace in modern cooking courses and even a foodie rehab center for former addicts.
