Turning Point

Turning Point was the longest running science serial that was aired on Doordarshan though the 1990's. The aim of the series was to "inculcate the scientific temper." Thus the wonders of science were presented in the simplest language to engage both the young and old. Thus the program that began as a monthly affair quickly went on to become a weekly series that was broadcast in Hindi, English and various regional languages. The series gained immense popularity and critical acclaim by bagging a host of national and international awards like the Grand Prix Jules Verne at the 11th International Science Film Festival.. The series was hosted by renown Kannada actor and playwright Girish Karnad (among many others); and Prof Yash Pal the well known Indian scientist and academician.
