Adam has a client that has fallen for him. In the meantime a mix up with his daughter Lucy and his wife causes some confusion. A rather intimate op is also discussed.

Adam is worried about his upcoming vasectomy while Julia and Stan visit the bank manager in the hope of securing a £20,000 loan to start a landscaping business. The bank manager refuses them their loan, so Adam secretly transfers to them the required £20,000 from his account to set them on their way.

Down Memory Lane

Julia secures her first big landscaping commission but doesn't realize that her first day on the job clashes with an anniversary weekend that Adam has already arranged, but luckily for her the new job isn't quite as time consuming as her new clients made it out to be.

A Sketch in Time

Julia's new landscaping business is flourishing and Adam has a visit from a fellow German psychiatrist Heinz Gruber, who has devised a way to analyze clients using drawings. Unfortunately he mistakes Julia's and Stan's gardening sketches as useful visual aids and includes them in his portfolio.

For Whom the Bell Dings

Adam's doctor Malcolm needs a specimen sample to make sure that his vasectomy was successful, unfortunately gardener Stan took the sample jar to use for a soil specimen instead. Adam has a troublesome client Andrea who can't stop laughing every time a bodily part is mentioned. He finally gets round to providing the required sample only to find that his doctor's new secretary is his bodily part giggling client Andrea.

A Woman's Touch

Dr Barclay has a new girlfriend, magazine journalist Fiona, so Adam and Julia invite them round for dinner, the idea being that Adam would provide an article on psychiatry for publication. However Stan wants Adam and Julia to use Fiona's magazine to promote their gardening business.

The Chance to Dream

Adam and Julia are practicing royal etiquette, having been invited to a garden party at Buckingham Palace. Julia's partner Stan buys what he thinks are 500 Chinese terracotta garden ornaments, all of which turn out to be Chairman Mao's face. Adam and Julia ponder about how their hopes and dreams will turn out.

The subject of jealousy arises, so Juia questions Adam about an incident that happened some years ago.

There's conflict in the Charlesworth household when Adam announces that it is time give up his practice to fulfill his life long dream. Even though Julia and Stan's gardening business is flourishing she doesn't want to abandon it all just to sail off into the sunset in a yacht that Adam wants to buy.
