Finding on his way a sinkhole and hearing an injured man trapped, Bash ignores fireman warnings by descending, getting trapped after administering urgent aid, before getting rescued, recalling how his fate was saved once in Syria. Suspended, Theo can only help by phone when called from New York, where he can send the patient to a desk acquaintance. An epidemic risk lures if a highly contagious patient Megs didn't keep in sight can't be tracked down. Novak cares little when not only staff criticizes his self-righteous decisions and poor bed side manner but patients even seem to shrug his advice, so June must defend it. Back above ground, Bash seeks his once welcome rescuer Elliot, who can't forget having been left abruptly.
