Manfro, the leading crimefighter of a specialized New York City task force assigned to the highest crime beat in America - the infamous subway, intercedes in yet another news worthy and life and death effort to save innocent lives. While off duty, he gets into a high speed pursuit (a homage to the famed chase from The French Connection), to capture armed supermarket robbers who fled in a getaway car, and despite them pointing a gun at him, he refuses to back down, leading to an unforgettable show down. The TV episode was the most watched prime time reality cop show at the time, leading into the Baseball World Series, both (ghost) written and narrated by the highly decorated Transit Cop.
