Agent Christopher wants team Wyatt to eliminate Rufus's coworker Anthony, whom Flynn abducted while stealing the time machine. They only can track them to 1962 (in or around) Las Vegas, when atomic tests were routine near the future Sin city. Only posing as staff on site at a mob casino, they work out Flynn targets John F. Kennedy and mob king Sam Giancana's mistress Judith Campbell, and after she betrays Wyatt and escapes, realize that Flynn blackmails her, using intimate photographs, to help steal a plutonium core. Her fling with the Air Force base general enables her to access a secure nuclear facility. Shocked, Rufus finds that Anthony is Flynn's willing collaborator, working to destroy Rittenhouse, not why. Anthony seemingly hands the core to Rufus, who prevents Wyatt from killing him, but it's a decoy while Flynn escapes with the real core. Wyatt sends a telegram to his wife in fifty years, attempting to save her life in 2012, in vain. Upon their return to the present, Wyatt covers up Rufus' protection of Anthony; Lucy tells her patient fiance Noah that she needs time, hence moves to her mother's to clear her head. In the Nevada desert, Flynn and Anthony dig up the plutonium core, which they buried to avoid risky time-travel with it.

Following them, Wyatt and Rufus get trapped with architect Sophia Hayden and a guest named George Henry in the World's Fair Hotel, run by sadistic serial killer H. H. Holmes as a trap. At the fair, Lucy and Flynn force Harry Houdini to break into Edison's office to plant a bomb, but Houdini outsmarts Flynn, who can barely escape. Houdini and Lucy save Wyatt and Rufus at the hotel, where Lucy realizes that "George" is Holmes just as she is captured, but Wyatt saves her by killing Holmes. The trio returns to the present. Rufus records a threat to Rittenhouse and hands it to Mason. Wyatt gets a phone call from Flynn, revealing Jessica's killer and suggesting Wyatt tries erasing his existence.

After failed attempts, Wyatt chases the bartender outside in the midst of a tornado, but he trips over debris, resulting in a fatal fall. Meanwhile, Emma tells Flynn and Anthony about Rittenhouse's real intentions for the time machines. Flynn wants to continue eradicating Rittenhouse, but Anthony would destroy both machines and confides in Lucy he plans a sabotage. Lucy and Agent Christopher agree to keep it to themselves just before Lucy learns of Mason's dealings with her biological father, Benjamin Cahill. When Wyatt, who is taken into police custody, and Rufus return to the present, they sadly find Jessica was still killed but the other two women were saved. There is an explosion at the Mothership's location, but not enough debris from the machine and Anthony's body is discovered in the rubble with close-range gunshot wounds. Agent Christopher and Rufus realize that Flynn discovered Anthony's betrayal and escaped in the Mothership. Lucy confronts Cahill about Rittenhouse.

The Lost Generation
