Boleigh, Cornwall

The Time Team travels to Boleigh, Cornwall, to investigate an underground structure known as a Fogou (pronounced FOO-GOO). Cornwall and other Celtic cultural areas have many examples of these caves but to date no one has figured out what they were for. The team has three days to attempt to resolve the issue.

Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire

Stanton Harcourt is built on a series of old river channels where the Thames flowed 200,000 years ago. At the site of a local land fill huge numbers of bones belonging to a range of extinct animals have been found. The Time Team come to aid hard pressed local diggers in locating the the exact river channel hence allow them to reconstruct the ancient landscape.

Templecombe, Somerset

Templecombe Somerset is the site of a priory that dates back to the 12th century. The exact location of the original building has been confused by later construction. The Time Team set themselves the task of untangling the ruins and coming to grips with the history of the location.

Teignmouth, Devon

Close to the medieval port of Teignmouth a ship wreck over three hundred years old has been found. Despite everyone's best efforts no one has so far identified the ship or where it may have come from. The Time Team has 3 days to unravel the mystery.

Navan, County Armagh

The team travel to Northern Ireland to the site of the Navan fort, a series of complex earth works dating back to the earliest human occupation. They are looking to confirm a persistent legend that the site was the power base of an early king and he at one point had three separate strong holds in the area even though only two have ever been found.

For years a Suffolk farmer has gathered hundreds of pieces of Roman pottery, jewelry and coins from one particular field on his land. Where did all this rich material come from and why is it so concentrated in one area?
