Jack on the Lam

A couple of FBI agents come to the apartment looking for Jack, when he wasn't there, they tell the girls it's in relation to someone he knew when he was in the Navy. At first Jack doesn't remember him, but he then remembers that the guy helped Jack get out of Navy a little early so he thinks that's why the FBI is looking for him. When they return Jack puts on a dress and pretends to be Chrissy who's suppose to go out with a client.

Love Thy Neighbor

Jack finds a present the girls hid and when he reads the card, he assumes it's a gift for him in honor of their anniversary being roommates. Jack decides he has to get something for them but is broke. So he asks Larry for the money he owes him but he doesn't have it. So Larry tells him that he moonlights as an escort and offers him his latest job. Jack reluctantly accepts and the woman is after more than an escort. When the girls see him with her, Jack doesn't tell them what's going on and when they ask Larry he tells him a story of Jack feeling undesirable.

After the Ropers leave, the guys sell everything they didn't want to bring with them so they can pay the rent. But Ralph Furley, the guy the new owner sent to take care of the building comes and upon learning of what they did, threatens to throw them out. Until he meets Lana and is willing to reconsider if they set him up with her.

Jack and Janet try to convince Chrissy to not quit her job to become a cosmetic saleswoman. Also, Furley hosts a game of strip poker.

Jack the Ripper

Jack and the girls want to redecorate the apartment and they expect Furley to pay the costs. But Furley says the owner, his brother won't let him. And the Dean at Jack's cooking school, wants to cook for a party he's throwing and is not going to compensate him. Jack then goes to a therapist who specializes in instilling assertiveness. And he does with Jack, who goes out and stands up to the Dean. Jack then goes home and chooses the wall paper which Janet doesn't like and stands his ground by being a jerk. And when Furley comes in, he maintains his position about him paying for the costs but Furley also went to the same therapist and stands up to Jack.

The Life Saver

Jack, Janet and Chrissy have been on placed on high alert when Mr. Furley threatens to evict them due to excessive noises they have been creating (door slamming, pots and pans dropping, etc). Meanwhile, Jack saves a man named Lyle Wormold at a restaurant from choking. Grateful, Mr. Wormold offers Jack and the girls a penthouse apartment to live in, rent-free for one year. Therefore, the kids play final tricks on Mr. Furley before their anticipated move.

Old Folks at Home

A homeless man named Leo Moran randomly shows up at the kids' apartment, hoping to find a place to stay. Feeling sympathetic, the kids offer to let Leo stay for a few days until he can find a permanent place to live. However, he proves to be a bit of a burden to the kids, especially Jack. Jack has been dating Scarlet O'Hara-type girl Nancy Norwood and Leo gets in the way during their date at the apartment.

A-Camping We Will Go

Larry wants his girlfriend to with him to a cabin. But she's an actress and refuses to go in case someone "calls" with a job. So he tells her that Jack Tripper, a director, will be with them. So she agrees. Larry tries to get Jack to go but he's too exhausted to go, but Larry assures him he will get plenty of rest. Before leaving Larry tells the girls they can go there any time. And they do. And so does Lana and Furley, because Lana wants to hook up with Jack and she needed Furley to being her there.

Chrissy's Hospitality

Jack and Chrissy was trying to put up new shower curtains one day, but was interrupted by a visiting Mr. Furley, who keeps forgetting his purpose for the visit. While he ponders, Chrissy slips and falls in the tub, hitting her head. While appearing fine at first, she passes out in the middle of night. Panicking, Jack and Janet take Chrissy to the hospital, where the doctor gives a grim prognosis.

The Loan Shark

Jack needs money so Crissy goes to a loan shark not realizing that there's a big interest payment. So Jack tries to return the money but the loan shark says that he still has to pay the interest. Jack says he can't but when he mentions he's a chef, he says Jack can pay him back by teaching wife how to cook. The woman arrives and hits on Jack.

The Love Barge

Jack gets a job working on a cruise ship and can take someone with him. He considers one of his girlfriends but Janet and Chrissy were hoping that he would ask one of them. And they think he wants a playmate. But he says he doesn't want them to feel like he prefers one over the other. So they decide to find a way to pick who will go. They play games and when that doesn't work out. They decide to let whoever Furley first speaks to, to be the one who goes. And when he speaks to Janet Chrissy wallows which makes Janet reconsider. Eventually Lana convinces them that neither of them should go only because she wants to go with him.

Ralph's Rival

Furley goes to Jack, Janet and Chrissy and tells them that a guy he knows is coming and he always felt inferior to him because he's successful. He can't tell him that he works for his brother and that he's single. He asks if one of the girls would be willing to pretend to be his wife. Chrissy agrees. But when the guy asks if he could spend the night; Chrissy has to stay. And things get out of hand when Chrissy boyfriend shows up looking for her.

A Black Letter Day

Lana sees an article in a newspaper's advice column wherein a guy says he is living with two girls and that's he's doing it with one of them. She assumes it's Jack. So she brings this to the attention of Janet who thinks it's not possible till she remembers that Crissy was cutting up the paper she assumes to keep her from seeing the article. So that's when things get unpleasant.

The Reverend Steps Out

Reverend Snow is up for an offer as the new minister for the Santa Monica Church. This is initially great news for Chrissy when her parents would be able to move closer to her. Unfortunately, Reverend Snow tells Chrissy that the recommendation board would never approve of three kids living together; therefore, she is forced to move out. However, Jack and Janet try to prevent Chrissy from leaving.

Larry Loves Janet

Larry visits the kids' apartment one day, feeling down and depressed. While Jack and Chrissy are out, Larry reveals his problems to Janet, telling her that he was rejected by a girl. Janet consoles him and, as Larry leaves, blows him a kiss from across the room. This leaves Larry thinking that Janet is in love with him. After Larry tells Jack that he is in love with Janet, Jack coaches her in how to deal with Larry.

Mighty Mouth

Janet and Chrissy try to get Jack to join their gym. But he's not interested until he meets their trainer, Shirley. He then goes to the gym to hook up with her. However, the other trainer at the gym happens to be Shirley's brother, Harvey, who is extremely overprotective. Upon learning of Jack's interest in his sister, Harvey puts him through a rigorous program. Jack and Shirley agree to meet at her place. When Harvey learns of their date, he sets out to get Jack. But Janet and Chrissy intercept and invites him to their apartment. But Shirley decides to meet Jack at the apartment instead.

The Love Lesson

When Mr. Furley catches Jack kissing new girlfriend Bobby Trilling, Jack tells him that Bobby is actually a man. Hoping to "convert" Jack into liking girls, Mr. Furley plans to coach him. Thinking that this would finally get himself off the hook of his pretending life style, Jack goes along with the training. However, what he doesn't know is that if he is successfully "converted," he would have to be evicted.

Handcuffed

While Janet and Chrissy are disco-dancing in their apartment, they create a "disturbance" to one of their neighbors, which causes a visit from a police officer. The officer, Daniel Trent, informs Janet and Chrissy of the issue. While doing so, Chrissy and Daniel recognize each other as distant cousins. After Daniel leaves, he accidentally leaves his handcuffs behind, leading to Jack and Chrissy fiddling around with them. As a result, they handcuff each other, but not before they discover that they don't have the keys to unlock them.

And Baby Makes Two

Jack and Chrissy get ready for a skiing trip and Janet is supposed to go with them. However, she pretends she forgot about the trip so she could be home to work on a surprise by redesigning her and Chrissy's bedroom. Men start to show up at the apartment to interview with Janet for the designing job. However, when Jack and Chrissy overhear Janet's conversation with one man, they think she is hiring one to be a surrogate father.

Jack's Bad Boy

Jack, Janet and Chrissy are short on money for a month's rent. To add to the complicated matters, they discover that an orphaned boy named Billy ran away from home and sneaked into their apartment. Janet and Chrissy are sympathetic but Jack is suspicious of Billy's intentions. He turns out playing against Jack to get Janet and Chrissy's sympathy and affections.

Lee Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother

Jack's older brother, Lee, pays him a visit. Jack cannot stand him because of him being "Number One" in everything he does. When Lee visits and impresses Janet and Chrissy, Jack feels inferior, and wants to find a way to compete against him. Things get complicated, however, when Lee starts dating Chrissy.

The Root of All Evil

Larry invites Jack to go with to the race track. Jack tells the girls about it and they give him money to put down a bet for them. Chrissy picks the horses which are long shots. But they win and Jack comes home with over a thousand dollars. They agree to share it but when the girls buy expensive and needless things that's when they all turn on each other. Eventually it gets so bad that they decide to go see a therapist to deal with it.

Secret Admirer

A secret admirer has been sending letters to Chrissy at work. One day, Chrissy decides to meet him and leaves a note for the admirer to meet her at the Reagle Beagle. When he didn't show, but responded to Chrissy's note, she invites him over to meet her at the apartment. When he arrives, however, Jack and Janet think Chrissy might not like him and try to break their date.

The Goodbye Guy

Mr. Furley complains to Jack, Janet and Chrissy that while he was visiting his brother Bart's office to give him the rent receipts that were overdue, he humiliates him in front of Nancy, Bart's secretary that Mr. Furley is fond of. Feeling down, the kids try to console him. While discussing ways to cheer Mr. Furley up, Jack overhears him on the phone talking about "taking gas." As a result, the kids think that Mr. Furley is contemplating suicide.
Episode 25
Jack's Graduation

Jack is one test away from graduating cooking school. The test consist of preparing a salmon dish, and Jack does his best to prepare the meal. However, when Jack wasn't looking, one of his classmates switches his unprepared dish with Jack's, giving Jack a failing grade on his exam. When he might not graduate from cooking school, Jack tells Janet and Chrissy that he is leaving town.
