There's something about vintage clothing that makes presenter Dawn O'Porter think people should buy old items instead of today's mass-produced clothes: They are unique and don't cost as much as the current stuff. She hopes to make people see her point of view on "This Old Thing." In each episode, O'Porter acts as a stylist by helping a person make the most of hand-me-downs and thrift-store finds to make a fashion statement. She also takes a look at the history of fashion and showcases some of the most iconic fashion items of recent history. The show features a team of seamstresses and tailors who ask people to bring them secondhand clothes and accessories to be valued, repaired and revived with a few quick alterations.
