Ben Graham and Alisha Cole are successful personal injury lawyers. When Ben sees a half-naked man forced into a vehicle and subsequently into a flat across the street, he does the right thing and calls the police. They seem little interested and the reason is simple: it's the police who are holding and interrogating a suspected terrorist outside of the law. Despite their best efforts, there is a clear and consistent attempt to muzzle them. Ben is arrested, his previously handling of a personal injury lawsuit is leaked to the press in an effort to tarnish his reputation and eventually, his law firm suspends him. They realize that if they are going to succeed, they will need to gather irrefutable proof.
