Episode 1
It's a day of big changes at the Stanley household. Larry and his animated twin brother, Luke, are starting high school after being home-schooled all their lives. They're eager to make friends, but bad first impressions have Larry on the run from the school's quarterback, and Luke on the outs with the beloved chess club. Meanwhile, their genius younger sister, Lori, is starting at a school for gifted kids, where she encounters troubles of her own. On the homefront, Dad struggles to come up with a fresh concept for a new online comic strip he is attempting to get off the ground, while Mom discovers that rejoining the workforce, after being a stay-at-home mom for so long, is not as simple as it sounds.
Episode 2
When Mom starts working long hours at the community centre, she recruits Larry to be her catering assistant. Larry is reluctant - until he discovers that Chelsea, a cute girl from school, also works there part-time. Luke soon grows suspicious of Larry's sudden interest in working with Mom. When he discovers the truth, he too begins volunteering to help out at work, and both boys begin competing for Chelsea's attention. But when a crisis emerges, and Mom needs the boys to help out, they are nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Dad is having trouble getting his online comic up and running. Lori agrees to help him, if he makes her his business partner. Before long, the partnership starts to sour, and dad is faced with the difficult task of firing his nine-year-old daughter.
Episode 3
Larry and Luke are invited to a teen party that Chelsea is throwing at The Brock, but Mom and dad have already booked them to babysit Lori, so they can spend a romantic night together for the first time in ages. The twins devise a plan that would allow them to do both things, without Lori even noticing they are gone, by attending the party individually in short shifts. But when Luke's dance moves jeopardize the whole operation, the boys are left needing Lori's help to save the day. Meanwhile, Mom and Dad also find themselves at The Brock, where they are attending Pam's last minute staff party. What they didn't realize is that the party is geared towards kids, not couples. They decide to make the most of it, and soon find themselves facing off against children in various party games.
Episode 4
Mom convinces Pam to let her run The Brock while Pam is away at a conference. Unfortunately, Mom, Dad and the rest of the staff come down with food poisoning, forcing Larry and Luke (with some help from Chelsea) to cover for Mom by teaching all the classes at the centre that day. But the harder they work to maintain control, the more things seem to go wrong. Larry gets dominated by a youth karate class, Luke has to deal with a pregnant woman who goes into labour during yoga class, and Doop messes with the thermostat, plunging the entire community centre into sub-zero temperatures. Meanwhile, back home, Lori is tasked with taking care of Mom and Dad -- which isn't easy since they are both difficult patients, and she has a terrible bedside manner.
Episode 5
Larry is spending all of his time with his new football team mate, Darnell, leaving Luke feeling left out. Larry promises to see a movie with Luke, but ditches him at the last minute to go with Darnell instead. This creates a rift between the brothers, something they have never experienced before. Luke decided to find his own new best friend, and through trickery convinces Ronnie that he is the perfect candidate. But after an awkward dinner, Larry and Luke's relationship splinters even further, forcing Darnell and Ronnie -- bitter childhood rivals themselves -- to form a temporary truce, long enough to find a way to bring the Stanley boys back together. Meanwhile, Mom feels foolish for not being able to help Lori with her homework, so she hires a tutor to teach her and Dad. But when Lori discovers the tutor, Mom and Dad convince her it is actually a long lost Uncle. Everything gets more complicated when Lori and her "Uncle" hit it off together.
Episode 6
When Mom accidentally sells Larry's lucky shirt at the Brock's rummage sale, Larry's bad luck starts to spiral out of control. Making things worse, Chelsea buys the shirt, and Larry's pride prevents him from asking for it back, even after her luck changes for the better. But when Darnell makes a potentially humiliating bet against their rival football team, Larry must get his shirt back, by any means necessary. Meanwhile, Lori tries to help Doop find the confidence to ask Pam for a raise, while Luke finds lots of fun uses for his new suit of armour.
Episode 7
With their busy schedules, the Stanleys have not been spending quality time together, so Dad reinstates an old tradition -- Family Game Night. Everyone makes a promise to be there, even if it means turning down other obligations. But Mom gets booked for a catering gig, Larry finds himself with a football practice, and Luke gets the opportunity to join Ronnie's LARPing party. Instead of canceling game night, and breaking dad's heart in the process, they decide to bring their other obligations home with them, without dad noticing. But when Pam almost burns the kitchen down, the football team and the LARPers start an all-out war in the backyard, and a six foot biker dressed like Santa shows up looking for his cookies, it's not long before game night descends into a chaotic mess -- leaving dad to feel betrayed.
Episode 8
Luke accidentally breaks a sculpture at The Brock's art auction. During his attempt to fix it, he glues himself to a painting to avoid discovery, and then is promptly sold in auction. It's up to Dad and Lori to plan a perfect art heist in order to swap Luke for a duplicate painting before Luke is carted off by the art collector. But in order to pull off the heist they will have to get past Doop, who is guarding the art as part of his night school security guard course. And to make matters worse, a real art thief has also targeted the same score. Meanwhile, Mom has invited Chelsea over to the house to help prepare for a catering event, and Larry is determined to use the opportunity to show Chelsea how cool he really is. Unfortunately Mom didn't get the memo, and is unintentionally undermining him at every turn.
Episode 9
Dad gets writer's block and can't come up with funny material for his comic. He overhears Larry using a new catchphrase, and recreates Larry saying it in his comic. The catchphrase is an overnight sensation, and soon everyone's saying it. It's even got its own line of merchandise. Trouble is, the phrase was actually created by Darnell, who now thinks Larry stole it on purpose. Luke tries to use the power of dad's comic strip to his own advantage, in order to rid the school of the mean lunch lady. But that goes down even worse then Lunch Lady Lizanka's goulash. Meanwhile, Mom is dealing with her own power struggle, as a hipster food truck moves in on her turf at The Brock.
Episode 10
The kids are surprised when they get their first report cards from their new schools. Larry gets very high grades, leading him to think he must be a genius. He soon finds himself recruited into the chess club, where he must face the top chess player in the school district. Luke, on the other hand, discovers his grades are very similar to Dad's, so Dad decides to make Luke his art protégé, which includes teaching his cartooning class for him. Both Larry and Luke find they are way out of their league. Not surprising, once it is discovered that there was a mix up with the report cards. Meanwhile, Lori's report card reveals she is failing gym class, and Mom convinces her to take an extracurricular fitness class at The Brock to make up her grade. Lori loves the class, but Mom finds herself hounded -- and hunted -- by the relentlessly perky fitness instructor.
