Joan Fairchild is a woman traveling along a dark rural road when she accidentally runs her car off the road. She immediately has an hallucinatory vision of a drowning woman in a lake, and seeks refuge in a large house nearby. Inside the house are a group of young people interested in experimenting with the occult and ESP. They offer her shelter for the night, but they hardly have her best interests in mind: under the guidance of their sinister leader, they intend to use their psychic abilities to telepathically send Joan distressing images of her deceased daughter--images that they hope will actually frighten Joan to death.

But the vision may be connected with Julie's father, whom she was told died when she was an infant.

Visiting the house owned by the Foundation financing the research (and where the room with the dead man's frozen body is located), Rhodes shares Laura's visions and they both suspect the doctor's bad heart was not the real cause of his death.

Rhodes comes to her rescue, believing someone with psychic powers is trying to kill Carol, using the visions.

Ruth also sees what appears to be the killing of someone, and sees an open grave in the cellar. When her daughter Jean and a friend arrive Ruth explains her visions, but no one really believes her -- especially after the cellar is dug up and no body is found. But when things that happened in the visions begin to come true, Jean suspects her mother's visions were not in her mind after all.

Carey Evers sees a vision of her own execution while on a seaside tour. When a hurricane blows in the tour operator brings his bus load to an inn for refuge. Staying at the inn is Dr. Rhodes, whose student Owen's father owns the place. Carey continues to see visions, now including the death of all the people in the inn. As the hurricane's fury mounts the group abandons the inn for the safety of a stone blockhouse, even though Carey insists the inn is safe.

The Eyes That Wouldn't Die

After being blind for ten years, young Kathy Turner receives a transplant and has her sight restored. The corneas came from a recently murdered woman, and when Kathy looks into a mirror she sees the killing. The police call in Dr. Michael Rhodes to look into the apparently psychic vision, and he also begins to see things. When the news of Kathy's vision hits the airwaves, the killer begins to stalk her, in fear that she can identify him.
