Episode 1
Thu, Sep 15, 201143 mins
After her mom's fatal accident, Cassie Blake moves in with Grandmother Jane in small beach resort Chance Harbor, Washington, and gets a notably confusing welcome from five new schoolmates. Adam Conant is as helpful and (too) friendly as is his three-year girlfriend Diana Meade. Haughty Faye Chamberlain, assisted by Melissa Glaser, can't resist testing the newcomer with dangerous magic. Hunky neighbor Nick Armstrong catches her eye. Diana takes Cassie to an abandoned house where they all secretly meet as a magical Circle that can only reach its true potential if she joins (completing their generation's heritage of witchcraft, evidenced in grimoires, but which also killed several of their parents). When Adam's father, barman Ethan, tries to warn Cassie about the dangers, Diane's father Charles forcefully yanks his chain. As friendly, patient Adam starts overcoming Cassie's disbelief and reluctance, hostile Faye's abuse of power makes her reconsider everything.

The heirloom witches from the other families agree to perform the bonding ritual, with Cassie, which should restore maximal power and bind abuses, the last prospect causing Faye to resist longest. Charles reluctantly hands over the crystal he used to scare Ethan into silence, only to find, under protest, that Faye's mother Dawn uses it herself, albeit to undo a black magic death. Adam finds it harder to resist romancing Cassie, who has come to hesitantly trust him. Henry Chamberlain fears Dawn's plans and plans to expose her, but is stopped gruesomely.

Dawn discovers someone from their past: an intense man named Zachary Larson is in town asking questions about Cassie and the Circle, so she asks Charles to keep an eye on him.

By blood, he inherits Nick's magical place in the Circle. They need him, so Adam must suppress his grudge, as must scorned Faye, who plans to turn the tables on him. In eliminating evil Simone (who tries to kill Cassie), Jake proves his value, but he bears a hidden agenda, as the sole witch member in a witch-slayer society.

Reluctantly, Cassie believes Jake's warning that her innate black Balcoin magic will turn her evil unless spell-bound (especially after a perceived betrayal has her almost kill Adam). Charles firmly resists Dawn's attempt to take charge of their crystal, and duly mistrusts both a surprise visit from his manipulative mother Kate and Dawn's gift of wine for her, fearing it poisoned. As Faye seeks help from the descendant of a voodoo priest to regain individual power, Cassie, having confided in Adam and later Diana of her Balcoin connection, accepts a nocturnal cleansing ritual in the woods from Kate, who wants to eliminate the Balcoin threat. Both witches end up surprised.

John Blackwell suddenly stands on startled Cassie's doorstep but gets a cold welcome from his daughter, who soon believes he's her father and alive but not that he came to save her, feeling that suspicion vindicated when he demands the medallion. Ethan warns Adam that John is more dangerous then he can even imagine. Devil's Spirit supplier Callum lures the girls, through Melissa, to a party and into a voodoo 'game'. Although Callum poisons their minds against Lee, Lee comes to their rescue. Jake is stunned by Blackwell's appearance, terrified by the return of witch hunter Eben, who took over from 'soft failure' Isaac. Jake makes a deal, John for his daughter, but Eben, a better sorcerer, plays dirty tricks on both men.

Episode 16
Thu, Mar 15, 201243 mins
Tensions arise between Adam and Cassie over what her father John is so eagerly searching for in the abandoned house - the 'sway' Adam and Nick safely retrieved earlier, used to steal a witch's power. She insists to take it to John and tends to believe his explanation that he needs it to protect her circle from evil witch hunter Eben by outing the traitor of sixteen years ago. Jake shares Adam's concern and stresses that Eben could only triumph over the parents' circle if one of them betrayed them, and the logical suspects are John himself and Adam's father Ethan, whom the Blackwells later confront without final resolution. At the school's "casino" fundraiser, John firmly refuses to side with doting Dawn again. Lee attends with Faye, but is caught and confronted aside by his deranged ex Eva, who now has powers. Faye, meanwhile, wants to visit Lee but finds only Eva, his killer, which leads to multiple confrontations. The senior circle generation is shocked to be confronted with the grim truth about themselves, including Amelia, John and Jane Blake (who remains in mental care).

John must ultimately reveal he still has his magical powers to act against witch hunter Eben, who got obsessed enough to start invoking demons with Jake's former mate Samuel as human sacrifice, but goes very easy on naive ex-circle mate Ethan, who remembers the previous disastrous attempt. Frustrated that he had to magically wreck his lover with Cassie, Adam hesitates to help the girls cruelly play with hockey star Kyle's mates during their season triumph celebration. Having discovered that the traitor used by demon-calling witch-hunter Eben is Jake's presumed-dead brother Nick, the circle has a hard time chasing him and working out his tragic story. A spell devised by the 'Blackwell half-sisters' to reveal the missing crystal also grants them a vision of its history, starring John as black magician scheming to wreck the previous circle and construct the kids' one to his design, for one by fathering them. Grant is back, but can only serve a shoulder for Diane to cry upon after her non-biological father admits having attempted to protect her, also by wrong means, including the murder of Cassie's grandmother Amelia. Adam found the last crystal after undoing its cloaking, but Nick overheard the outcome and grasps it, to exchange with Even for the demon he needs to survive, forcing Jake and John's party to fight them, ending in Faye saving her new lover Adam and Jake by stabbing Nick. The circle must now decide whether to trust John to help protect them by constructing the crystal skull against Eben.
