Three generations of a middle-class family live together in a large row-house in Hong Kong. Headed by matriarch Dut (Pik-Wan Tang), the family go through good times and bad, having to face issues dealing with broken marriages, rocky relationships and past struggles. Their family business, a delicatessen café, is headed by oldest son Chuan (Fung Kwok). Chuan's wife Pui (Tin-Ngoh Seung) has some resentment towards Chuan's immediate relatives and wants higher status within the family tree, even if it resorts to devious means to obtain it.
