The new principal, Dominic English, has been drafted in to kick the under-performing school into shape but the childish, love-able loser, Tom Hegarty, is the only thing standing in his way. Tom is continually coming up with half-baked plans to make Dominic's job more difficult. However, to Tom's dismay, his best friend, Briege Daly, is falling in love with Dominic and he gets sucked in to setting them up.
