Standing by to whisk Danny to the action is driver Artie Burns (George O'Hanlon), and standing behind the newsman's favorite bar is Ike Dawson (Remo Pisani).

Taylor and Sheldon are able to follow enough leads to conclude that an escaped criminal is going to attempt to kill the policeman who arrested him. Then Taylor's investigation results in his being taken hostage by the criminal, and used as a human shield as they proceed to the policeman's home.
