Jay Blades and his team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. The first visitor to arrive are Monica and Andrew Norton from Leicestershire with a One-of-a-Kind Clock of their father Ron Woodford. He was a cabinet manufacturer by trade and he had a dream to make a wooden clock. Each clock had a production time of 2000 hours. The clock they bring in was built for display in the World Trade Center in Dallas and was the 4th of 5 clocks. The clock has been in a box for 30 years. Steven Fletcher and his son Fred have their hands full to repair the clock, which bearings are full of rust. Second to arrive are Ol and Nathan Gynn from Cambridgeshire with an Iconic Pedal Car called nutty car. Ol and his wife saw this car stand for sale in someones garage when the boys were 2 and 4 years old. Marcus has died 5 years ago to cancer at the age of 36. Metal expert Dominic Chinea has really his hands full to repair this car for George and Tommy, the sons of Nathan. Finally to arrive are Peter Whiting and his daughter Angela with a Devoted Football Fan's Lucky Mascot, belonging to Peter. The cap is from the football club Rotherham United and is really worn out. Never missed a game without his cap. Master hatter Jayesh Vaghela brings the family happy mascot back in tiptop condition.

Episode 2

Jewish Prayer Book

Jay Blades and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. First to arrive at the barn is Gary Fischer with a remarkable Jewish Prayer Book from his grandparents from Vienna. During WWII the Jewish people were persecuted during wartime. 10.000 kids from Austria were brought to the UK in 1938 under the name 'Kindertransport'. In 1942 his grandparents were taken to a concentration camp Theresienstadt in Czechoslovakia, were they survived the war. They had a hold on the prayer book. Bookbinder Christopher Shaw makes the Prayer Book presentable again. Second to arrive is Geoff and Jane Allum with a Radio that was used 50 years ago during a rowing across the Atlantic Ocean with his nephew Don in 73 days and six and a half hour. They had to navigate with a sextant to determine the longitude were the time is important and therefore listened to the BBC World Service. The radio stopped playing exactly after closing the challenge. Radio expert Mark Stuckey is determent to pinpoint the failure, which he of course did. Finally to arrive are Tracy Dodds and her daughter Florrie with an Ovalia Egg Chair from designer Henrik Thor-Larsen in 1968, belonging to her parents and owned by Tracy 18 years ago with the promise to have it reupholstered again. The curved interior is a very difficult thing to upholsterer Sonnaz Nooranvary because she has never done this. She succeeded in restore this beautiful chair and make the speakers in the chair work again.

Musical Jewellery Box

Jay Blades and the team bring four treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. First to arrive at the barn is Jack Laugher with a pair of Olympic medals from the 2016 summer games in Rio de Janeiro, one silver and one gold, and both won by Jack in the diving pool. In the years since this double achievement, Jack has proudly taken his medals to schools to try to inspire the next generation to take up sports. Unfortunately, all that attention has taken its toll on the medals and their wooden cases. To restore them to their winning ways will be an Olympian challenge for the barn's silversmith Brenton West and wood wizard Will Kirk. Husband and wife Barry and Bernadette have brought in another memento from far off climes: a musical jewellery box that Barry bought for Bernadette while he was in Malaysia with the British Army over 50 years ago. Sadly, when he sent it back to Bernadette in the UK, it was damaged in transit and she has never seen it working. The responsibility for reviving the box falls to horologist Steve Fletcher. The barn's bear repair pair, Amanda Middleditch and Julie Tatchell, are next to be called into action, this time against a mythical monster in need of some TLC. Duncan the dragon arrives with Marisa and her 10-year-old son Jonah. Duncan was given to Marisa when she was just a little girl, and since then he has been a huge comfort through life's challenges, first for Marisa and now for Jonah. But the years haven't been kind to Duncan, and it's down to Julie and Amanda to make sure he's sturdy enough to carry on his important work keeping the family under his wing for years to come. Finally, a complicated fix of a simple tool for metal worker Dominic Chinea. Originally owned by Naranji Patel and brought in by his grandson Paresh, this hammer was one of a set of tools bought by Naranji after moving to the UK from India in the 1960s. For Paresh the hammer evokes happy childhood memories of helping his grandfather fix things around the home, and is symbolic of the life lessons that Naranji instilled in him. However, the hammer is no longer fit for purpose - the handle is old and bent and no longer fits the head properly - but fixing it while preserving as much of the original as possible requires some creative thinking.

Episode 4

Jubilee Special

Three special items are repaired to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. The first guest to arrive is Peter McGowran, he is a Yeoman Chief Warder of the Tower of London, also known by their nickname Beefeater. He brings in a special 103 years old Lantern, which is used every evening to lock down the two gates of the Tower of London. It is a huge responsibility because there are the Crown Jewels and 20 towers being built in 1078. The handle of the lantern is loose due to the rivets, a glass is broken and the legs are damaged. Steve Fletcher excepts the challenge to repair this century old lantern with pride. Second to arrive are Diane Gould and her son Terry Martin with an unfinished Pearly King Coat which belonged to her father Alfie, who was the Pearly King of St. Pancras. He had a collection of pearly suits because he had to made them himself. He worked to the suit they bring but couldn't finish it because he passed away suddenly. Amanda and Julie have to pull out all the stops to finish this suit, which they did naturally. Finally to arrive is Helen Ringland with a Victoria's Golden Jubilee Plate, from 1887 of the Queens great-great grandmother and painted by Helen's grandfather Jonathan Foster Tate for an exhibition in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1887. Her grandfathers family exists of builders and bricklayers. That he could make this beautiful plate is remarkable. The edge of the plate was broken and poorly restored. Ceramic expert Kirsten Ramsay repairs the plate without you can see the crack.

Episode 5

Precious Cornet

Jay Blades and his team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. The first visitor to arrive are John Barnes and his daughter Hazel with a well-loved 1920's Cornet, belonging to their mother Kath, who played it from the age of 6 in Cleethorpes and was the youngest player. John and Kath got her courtship at 16 and married at the age of 20 and were married 58 years. Kath got cancer in 2019 but died of a stroke. She died in June 2022. Instrument expert Pete Woods has the challenge to restore this iconic Cornet and Suzie Fletcher repairs the Cornet's Case. Second to arrive is Keith Jones from Cheshire with a precious Toy Monkey, belonging to his partner Peter which he was together for 15 years. They both got Covid. Keith came out and Peter died 19 days later. The Monkey is the only memory he has of Peter. The bear ladies Julie and Amanda take care of the Monkey and restore it. Finally to arrive is Helen Brooks from Oxfordshire with a unique piece of history, a 1909's Suffragette Autograph Book, belonging to Cynthia Maguire. All the Suffragette leaders autographs are in there among others Emmeline Pankhurst. What the movement did could take them to prison but Cythia has never gone to prison. It is of historical importance. A mouse has nibble a part of the corner of the book and the bindings of the pages are loose. Christopher Shaw makes this book presentable again and embroider expert Sara Dennis repairs the corner which was damaged from the mouse.

Episode 6

Miniature Victorian Diorama

Jay Blades and his team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. The first visitor to arrive are Heather McPherson and her grandson Jacob with a Family's Late Victorian Kitchen Table which is a long time in the family. Jacobs father, Barnaby, got a traffic accident when he was 1 year old and died of post traumatic epilepsy when he was 6. He remembers that he was playing with his dad on that table. Wood expert Will Kirk has his hands full to make this table presentable again, because the table tops are warped. Second to arrive are Grant Harvey and his mother Tracey with a Pair of Clown Shoes belonging to Tracey uncle Bert who was a clown. Bert worked in a factory in Acton were he chromed headlights and bumpers of cars and was a clown at children's parties in the factories of Acton in Park Royale. In his free time he was a clown in clubs for the working men in London. His wife and Tracey's mom were sisters. Cobbler Dean Westmoreland treats the shoes, that have dried out, with a glycerin cleanser to nourishes and softens the shoes. Finally to arrive are Sue and John Cox with a Miniature Victorian Diorama of Isleworth Race Parcours, which is never built because they couldn't finance it, belonging to his father George, who died in 2001. The diorama is from the nineteen hundreds and was displayed in the house above the butcher shop in Islewood which was there for 95 years in the family. John thinks that his granddad Jack made it. David Burville has to make this diorama presentable again, which he did.

Episode 7

Telescope

Jay and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. The first visitor to arrive is Ed Hammond from Farnham with a Telescope, belonging to his father and was a special part of his childhood when he was 10 years old. Looking to the moon and the stars his father told him everything. He climb into trees with the telescope to see other farms and wildlife. He has a few times fallen out of the trees and doesn't know of the damage of the telescope is the cause. Optics expert Richard Briggs does his utmost to repair the heavy damaged telescope and Suzie Fletcher takes care of the telescope's case. Second to arrive is Aziz Shaikh from London with a 1953 Philips Radio which he got from his father as a birthday present for his 7th birthday in Pakistan. It was Aziz fascination when he was 2 or 3 years old. The radio was transported from Pakistan in 2015 to the UK and the courier company did not take good care of the radio and it was badly damaged. The case was badly broken and the glass is broken at several places and is difficult to repair. Dominic Chinea has also studied graphic design and can make and order a new glass to see the channels. The case of the radio will be repaired by Mark Stuckey. Finally to arrive are Peter Newband and daughter Jackie from Lancashire with a Toy Elephant named Pookie which was made by his father for Christmas in 1946 when Peter was 4 and a half year old. It was specially made in a military hospital in Irak. He had sand in his lungs and was diagnosed with emphysema when Peter was almost 15 years old. The elephant is brown but was originally green. He put a stone in one of the legs from Bethlehem were Jesus was born for luck. His father was good with his hands according to Suzie. Leather expert Suzie Fletcher has to repair and paint the elephant green again.

Episode 8

Bulldog Barman Drinks Table

Jay Blades and his team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. The first visitor to arrive are Sophie Ellis and her son Harry with a Painted Portrait of herself. Roger Hampson who lived in the street in Bolton when Sophie was little. She had to sit still in the orange chair several afternoons in 1967 to be painted. The portrait starts to flake and her mother said someone needs to stop that. Art restorer Lucia Scarlisi takes the painting under her wing and repairs it. Second to arrive are Norman Kent and his daughter Sarah from Warwickshire with a Barrel Organ which belongs to the Town Henley-in-Arden. The citizens would like the organ to be restored, because it is out of tune and plays the 10 numbers in it badly. Organ restorer David Burville makes the organ clean and ready to play the 10 numbers flawless. Finally to arrive are Nigel Garry, who is blind, and his wife Karen with a Bulldog Barman Drinks Table called Boozy Barman. Nigel likes to touch the barman's ears because he is blind and feels himself alive. Bought in a very small shop with all kinds of unusual things. He stand beside of Nigel and waits of his gin and tonic, ones of twice a week. When they moved to another house Nigel walked into the barman and it fell and one ear got damaged and there is a crack in the arm which holds the tray. Ceramics restorer Kirsten Ramsay makes the bulldog barman drinks table as new.

Episode 9

Victorian Table

Jay Blades and his team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. The first visitor to arrive is Mei Mei Heryat with an Ornately Carved Victorian Table belonging to her father with which she had the earliest memories sitting on it. She grew up in the West of Ireland where her father ran a fishing hut called Delfy where it was very busy and the first thing you saw when you entered the hut was the table. When she was little she made fishing flies for her father and kept it in the draw. He died when Mei Mei was 17. The table has been damaged of woodworm and a acorn is missing and a massive crack on the table top. Wood expert Will Kirk treads the table against woodworm, makes a new acorn and repairs the table top. Second to arrive is Tim McCann with a 55 years old One Armed Fruit Machine which he got from his grandfather Cornelius McCann when he was 10 years old. He died shortly after he had given the machine. The handle of the fruit machine is stuck. Fruit machine expert Geoff Harvey strips the machine and ungrease it, because after 20 years the grease becomes hard. After a few actions the fruit machine was working again. Finally to arrive is Sue Gent with a Mechanical Toy Dog who bakes pancakes. It was a Christmas present from her parents when she was 5 or 6 years old. The mechanics doesn't work properly, because his ears and eyes have to go up when he flips the pancakes. To mechanical expert Steve Fletcher a interesting task to repair it, which he of course did.

Episode 10

Toy Fire Engine

Jay Blades and his team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. The first visitor to arrive are Angela Rushforth and her daughter Eve from Yorkshire with a 70 years old Pair of Roller Skates with wooden wheels, belonging to her mother. Her mother died in 2019 and her father is now 90. Her father Colin and mother Irene met each other at the roller rings in the late 1940's called the Astoria near Barnsley in South Yorkshire and married in 1952 and were married for 67 years. Cobbler expert Dean Westmoreland has to repair a damaged crack in the toe and a few eyelets are gone and the leather is discolored. Dean would not be Dean as he not made the roller skates looking as new. Second to arrive are Fredericka and Louise Charles from London with a Radiogram which belonged to her mother and father who belonged to the Windrush generation. The people of the Caribbean were asked after WWII to help rebuilding the country. In the Dominican Republic the UK was seen as the motherland and it was a massive opportunity for the people to come. Their friends had a radiogram too. It was their first major purchases. The radiogram was used on Sunday's to dance on records of Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole. The radiogram stopped 3 years ago with playing. To electronics expert Mark Stuckey no challenge is to big to repair this vintage radiogram. Finally to arrive are cousins Tamsin Thomas and Daniel Yates with a Toy Fire Engine made by his great grandfather and Tamsins grandfather, based on a fire engine that was stationed in the fire station. Francis Birchard was a firefighter during the Blitz in WWII and worked with the fire engine they made. He made it for Tamsin because there was nothing to play with in that time. Mechanical wizard David Burville is over the moon to repair this self made toy fire engine which headlights are missing and makes it to drive again.

Episode 11

Stuffed Toy Cat called Meowee

Jay and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. First to arrive at the barn is Gemma Kent from East Sussex. She brought a 36 year old Toy Cat called Meowee which belonged to her father who died young to cancer and afterwards belonged Meowee to his daughter Chloe who is 9 years old. A task for Amanda and Julie to restore this cat. Second to arrive are Rachel Storr-Barber and daughter Jess, they have a long and silent Jukebox for electronics wizard Mark Stuckey and Nigel Robinson. It belonged to her husband Chris who passed away in 2019. He had thousands of records which he changed four times a Year. The Jukebox went on fire during his burial. A difficult task for the experts to repair. And finally Peter Sunderland arrives with a Signboard called Bailie, created by Walter Scott in his famous book Rob Roy who is a local legend in Aberfoyle Scotland. The expert sign writer Dominic Chinea is trusted to make it whole with first to sand the board and trace onto template and paint it afterwards. He brings it to Aberfoyle himself to an enthusiastic audience.

Elderly Teddy Bear called Goldie

Jay Blades and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. First through the barn doors today is 74 years old Goldie Bear, accompanied by his owner Nerys Kendrick. Now Goldie needs the help of soft toy specialists Amanda and Julie. She was from her mother Judith, who got him when she was 14 months old. Now he is for her daughter. Amanda and Julie go to work to make him presentable again. Second to arrive is Merline Wright from Kent wit a Pair of Scissors to be repaired by scissor maker Jonathan Reid. It belonged to her mother Taylor who was a seamstress who worked in Jamaica for her living. She made all of Merline's cloths. Even her wedding dress was made by her. Jonathan goes to repair the pair of scissor's. Finally Stephen Carr arrives with a Leather Satchel which he got from his parents in 1969 when he went to secondary school. He was bullied at primary school because one leg was shorter than the other. The satchel gave him strength to go on. His father wrote a text on the inside of the satchel who is faded. Suzie and Lucy go to work to make it brand new.

Battered Bible

Jay and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. First to arrive are brother and sister Steve and Paula Prentice to repair a Variety Act's Unicycle by the hand of Tim Gunn. There parents Peter and Dorothy had a variety act in the 1940's and 1950's with there grandparents. With performances in the London Palladium. They are hoping that Tim can restore there unicycle. Second to arrive is Silvano Griffith-Francis from London with a Battered Bible from her mother, who bought it in the 1960's in an antique flea market in Oldham, now living in Christchurch in Barbados. A difficult task for Christopher Shaw to fix it to be representative again. And finally David Cooke from Lincolnshire arrives with a romantic keepsake ring, which belonged to his wife Caroline, who passed away in 2020 of a heart attack. For Richard Talman a challenge to restore the ring in its original setting.

Episode 14

Child's Pedal Train

Jay and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. Today's first visitors, Marc Maderson and sister Melanie Henry need book binder Christopher Shaw to fix their favorite 50 years old Kite, made of bamboo and tissue paper. Belonging to the stepfather of Melanie, handmade in the 1970's. Second to arrive is Kate Humphries from Aberystwyth with a Child's Pedal Train, which bought her father in the 1970's. Her older brother and sister played on it in their youth. The train if full of woodworm and several parts are rusted. A beautiful and challenging task for Dominic Chinea to restore this train. And finally Amanda Rayner from Buckinghamshire brings in a Shattered Plate, made for her parents Golden Wedding Anniversary. The guests put their names on the unbaked plate. The plate was used to put a vase with flowers on it, but there was spilled water to the plate and with removing the vase the plate fell to the floor and broke. This is the most challenging task for Kirsten Ramsay to restore this plate.

A Royal Visit

In a special episode to mark the BBC's centenary, Jay and the team meet the Prince of Wales in Dumfries House, 40 miles of Glasgow (in autumn 2021, before his accession to the throne) and restore two historic items, which is a Wemyss Ware piece commemorative Goblet from Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee dated 1897 and a 18 century Victorian Bracket Clock. Further they repair a Fire Set.

Episode 16

Vintage Radiogram

Jay and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. Sizing up the barn's latest project, electronics whizz Mark is hoping for the sweet sound of success as he fixes a 60-year-old sound system and cocktail cabinet. This vintage radiogram belongs to Clifton Smith and was once the pride and joy of his parents, providing the soundtrack to many happy family events. The last time Clifton heard it playing properly was at a party the night before he joined the army at the age of 16 over 40 years ago. Now he is pinning his hopes on Mark's electrical know-how to get it spinning discs once again. Lydia Lewis is the next arrival, with a tricky little trinket for horologist Steve. It is a mid-20th-century treasure that used to grace her grandmother's drinks trolley. It looks like a vintage telephone, but the base contains a hidden musical box that plays when the receiver is lifted, while the receiver itself cleverly conceals a lighter. Though her grandmother died before she was born, Lydia loves the telephone and would like to see it working again as it did when her grandmother was alive. Steve's challenge is to fix the lighter mechanism and repair the broken mouthpiece. Finally, the perfect job for master saddlemaker Suzie - a saddle. But Elana Beavis's saddle is no ordinary saddle. It travelled around Canada with her great-grandparents after they quit farming in England for a new life across the Atlantic running a rodeo. After many adventures, the family eventually moved back to the UK, with the elaborate saddle being one of the few possessions they just couldn't leave behind. Now Lydia would like to restore the worn-out leather work as a tribute to her intrepid ancestors.

Handmade Mosaic Table

Jay and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life. First to arrive at the barn is Vanessa Simonite, with what appears to be a piece of wood and a bag of bits, but once was a beautiful mosaic table made by hand by her late husband Jeremy. He made it in secret as a present for Vanessa just before he died. Years later, the mosaic tiles started to come lose, and in one unfortunate moment all came cascading off in one go. On hand to help repair this ultimate jigsaw puzzle is the barn's ceramic expert Kirsten with help from woodwork whizz Will. The next challenge is for the Repair Shop's book-binding specialist Chris. Mother and daughter Kathryn and Victoria Gethin have brought in a family heirloom from the very heart of their home - the kitchen. Victoria's grandmother Ida's handwritten recipe book contains the ingredients for many a special family occasion, from birthday cakes to Christmas buffets. But now the well-worn, stained pages are falling apart. Kathryn and Victoria are hoping Chris can rescue the recipes and memories they hold for future family events. Finally, Selina Shaw and Iris Newell have brought in a nautical time piece that they hope horologist Steve can make ship-shape once again. This art deco delight was bought by Iris's father - a trawler skipper by trade - for his wife. He was usually careful with his money, so it was an extravagant present and was treasured by Iris's mum. But it hasn't worked for over 30 years, the mechanical model ship the clock displays no longer sails, and the changing colours of the ship's seascape backdrop no longer change. Steve now represents their last hope of reviving this memory of Iris's mother and father.

Freedom Fighter's Leather Wallet

Today's first visitor is Gita Diwan from London with a Freedom Fighter's Leather Wallet, which belongs to her father who fought for the independence of India against the British Rule. The demonstrations were peaceful. He was arrested and taken to prison where he met Ghandi, which he supported. Out of prison he was treated as a hero. A challenge to Suzie Fletcher to repair the Leather Wallet. The second visitor is Dominic Nasmyth-Miller from Suffolk with a brass hidden box, never be opened and a Ceramic Dog for Kirsten to repair. For Mark Stuckey he has a Dog House called Polly. When called her name Polly the dog came out of the dog house. A challenging task for the two repairers. And finally John Phillips from Somerset brings a in a cut in half bicycle of which he cut the front fork's and made a two person's Colorfull Red, White and Blue Bicycle to drive to Paris in France with his wife to to on Vacation. They came not further than Bayeux in France, where the stayed for some time. To Tim Gunn and Dominic Chinea the beautiful task to restore the rusted and faded colors of the bike to restore.
