Episode 1
Anthony Hardy is an English serial killer who was known for dismembering some of his victims. In November 2003, he was sentenced to three life terms for three murders, but police believe he may have been responsible for up to five more.
Episode 2
Danielle Jones went missing in June 2001 and was never seen again. Suspicion very quickly fell on her uncle, Stuart Campbell and although a body has never been found, he was tried and convicted of her murder and abduction partly due to the fascinating investigation which relied on the use of forensic authorship analysis of text messages sent from her mobile phone. The case has recently appeared in the media as the murderer had served his term and family of the victim are upset at possible parole as Campbell has never admitted to the murder and failed to reveal where he buried her.
Episode 3
Tom Cressman was a successful businessman who mixed in high society but a month before his 40th birthday, he was murdered. Cressman met Jane Andrews, dresser to Sarah Ferguson the Duchess of York, and very quickly they moved in together. Two years into the relationship Andrews was convinced Tom should marry her but Cressman had other ideas. What he didn't know was that Andrews was firmly of the opinion, "if I can't have him, nobody will" and while he slept, she battered her boyfriend Tom with a cricket bat before finishing him off by stabbing him. Andrews went into hiding but called friends asking them to call her about Tom's whereabouts so she could create a false idea and say he was still alive. After conviction of the murder of Cressman, Andrews absconded from an open prison in search of a man she had also become obsessive about during prison visits who had stopped visiting.
Episode 4
Women who murder are extremely rare, and in the type of relationship that Harvey had with Tracie Andrews, it is usually the woman who comes off worse, if she had just admitted what she had done, relied on the evidence that Harvey had assaulted her she may not have been tried for murder, but she lied repeatedly, including a toe curling TV appeal in which she blamed a road rage attack by a "bald fat man with staring eyes" in describing the "killer". The case has many layers going right back to the couple getting together which will work well.
Episode 5
Dubbed 'the real Hannibal Lecter' by the press, Peter Bryan is schizophrenic cannibal and serial killer who committed three murders in the 90s/00s. He is currently serving a whole life sentence and will never be released. In 1993, Bryan beat a 21 year-old shop assistant to death with a hammer. He was convicted and sent to Rampton Secure Hospital where he was seen to make steady progress with psychiatrists and social workers over the course of the next 10 years. In 2004, he was transferred to an open psychiatric ward in Newham General Hospital but within a month of his transfer, he walked out of the unit and killed his friend Brian Cherry. When the police caught up with him, he was cooking the dead man's brain in a frying pan. He was then remanded in Broadmoor Hospital where he went on to kill a fellow patient. Bryan said that, had he not been interrupted, he would have eaten his flesh. There are sensitivities around this case.
Episode 6
Kayser Osman, 15, had been the victim of a bullying campaign by a knife-wielding youths which led to an attack which led to his death from a single knife wound. Another 15-year-old was found guilty of manslaughter. Street gang murder in Harlesden. Very good investigation, case broken by very good interview tactics similar to Catherine Corridan.
Episode 7
In 2015, the body of Marta Ligman was found inside a suitcase in the Grand Union Canal. The pathologist said he couldn't rule out that she was still alive when she was stuffed into the case in a tight foetal position and placed in the water. Her partner Tomasz Kocik had reported her missing following pressure from family, and he claimed she had had an affair and run off with her lover. He was eventually convicted but not before laying a false SMS trail that made it look like Marta was still alive.

"The Black Widow" is how Linda Calvey referred to herself, yet she pleads innocence of the murder of her husband. Do pictures of Linda at her weddings show her as a jubilant bride, or a smiling predator stood arm in arm with her next victim?
