Escaping Expulsion

Alador and Odalia Blight get Luz, Willow, and Gus expelled from Hexside. Luz decides to take matters into her own hands and she makes a deal with Odalia to let her and her friends back into Hexside, on the condition she must participate in a presentation. Amity learns what her mother is planning, she and her friends go to Blight Industries to save Luz, with help from Edric and Emira, who are secretly rebelling against their mother. Amity is able to put a stop to her mother's scheme and she threatens to destroy the abomaton, unless Odalia accepts Amity's request to let her friends go back to Hexside, causing Odalia to begrudgingly agree to Amity's request. Odalia tries to back out on the deal again, but Alador reminds her that she made a promise and as Blights they should always uphold their end of the deal. Alador and Odalia are visited by the Emperor's Coven, they request to have enough abomatons built for an upcoming event.

Through the Looking Glass Ruins

Gus tries to impress Bria, Gavin, and Angmar a group of Glandus High students, he takes them to the Looking Glass Graveyard, but the three misfits have a sinister plan on acquiring items from the grave site. Gus soon finds an unlikely ally in Matt, the two are able to stop Bria and her friends from stealing from the grave, Gus soon reconciles with Matt. Meanwhile, Amity tries to help Luz acquire Phillip Whitbane's diary so that she can find another way back home, but it doesn't go as planned when Luz accidentally gets Amity fired by her boss. Luz decides to make it up to Amity and she is able to convince the librarian to give Amity another chance. Luz goes to Blight manor and she gives Amity her badge back, she is soon intrigued with Amity's new hair color. Luz is unable to get Phillip's diary, but Amity reveals that the echo mouse is able to record pages from books. Amity thanks Luz for getting her job back and she kisses her on the cheek. Meanwhile at the Noceda residence, Camila is supposedly at home with "Luz" and the two are watching an animal documentary together.

Hunting Palismen

Eda reveals to Luz and King that Raine used to be her lover, but the two had grown apart because of her rebellious behavior towards the Emperor's Coven and Raine is trying to protect Eda from Belos. It is soon discovered that Raine is leading a bard resistance against the emperor.

Luz tries to record a video diary for her mother to prove to her that the Boiling Isles isn't dangerous, but the video diary doesn't go as planned for Luz after she accidentally blinds Boscha with a glyph magic combo. The Covens Day Parade is about to be initiated on the Boling Isles, Eda tries to get Raine to remember what has happened, but they have no memory over their ordeal with Kikimora or their encounter with Terra. Luz and Amity manages to capture Kikimora, so they can get answers regarding the Day of Unity. Terra attacks Luz and Amity, she offers Kikimora a promotion for proving her loyalty. During the conclusion of the parade, Belos unmasks himself to the public and he lies to the inhabitants about his plans on uniting the human and demon realms together. Eda, Luz, Amity, King, and Hooty are still suspicious about Belos' true motives and the upcoming Day of Unity.

Reaching Out

Amity wants to prove to her father that she can make her own decisions, she goes against her father's wishes by participating in the Bonesborough Brawl in order to gain her father's approval. Meanwhile, Eda tries to figure out why Raine has been brainwashed into serving Belos, she gets help from Edric who is studying potions and beast keeping while Emira is studying healing. During the brawl, Amity feels hurt when she finds out that Luz told on her father, causing Luz to admit how her father died when she was young, Amity promises to help Luz honor her late father. Warden Wraith causes a rampage at the Bonesborough Brawl, after Edric accidentally adds the wrong ingredient to the truth serum. Amity tells her father that she is making her own decisions and the two work together to stop Wraith. Luz and Eda are able to cure Wraith from his monstrous transformation. Eda interrogates Wraith about Raine's brainwashing and he reveals that he had nothing to do with what happened to Raine. Amity tells Alador that she doesn't want to be in the Emperor's Coven and he agrees to discuss the matter with Odalia. Luz uses her plant magic to create flowers and Amity creates a small abomination balloon for the flowers, the couple observe the flowers flying up to the sky.

Episode 15

Them's the Breaks, Kid

Eda reveals to Luz how she first met Raine Whispers and her days at Hexside. Along the way Eda had to put up with her ruthless principal Faust and the challenges she was forced to partake so she can stay at Hexside, such as the Covens vs. Wilds maze challenge conducted by the plant head coven, Terra Snapdragon. Eda and Raine found the competition entirely pointless. Despite Eda losing the challenge, Terra ensured that she would allow Eda to continue her education at Hexside. At lunch, Eda is excited to see that Raine is attending Hexside, due to losing their previous scholarship. As the story ends, Eda becomes concerned about Raine's well-being. Back at the Emperor's palace, Terra gives Raine her special tea, to relieve their headache but unbeknownst to Terra, Raine discreetly used their bard magic to blow away the mind-wiping magic. It is soon discovered that Raine has been working with Darius and Eberwolf to stop Belos and they learn that the only way to stop the draining spell is with Eda's curse, but Raine refuses to put Eda at risk and they decide to figure out another plan.

Episode 16

Hollow Mind

Luz and Hunter find themselves transported into Belos' mindscape, the two learn about Belos' true intentions through his memories regarding the Day of Unity. Hunter soon learns that he is the clone of one of Belos' unnamed relatives. Luz discovers that Belos' real name is Phillip Whitbane and she vows to expose his fraudulence on the Isles. Luz and Hunter are able to escape with help from Eda and some unseen allies. Luz allows Hunter to stay at the Owl House, but he runs away after finding out that Belos has lied to him. Eda asks what Luz knows about Belos' motives, she becomes completely silent.

Episode 17

Edge of the World

Luz informs Eda, King, and Hooty about Belos being a witch hunter and the what the Day of Unity is truly about, after going into Belos' mind with Hunter. Eda is shocked over the revelation and Lilith arrives with Owlbert after learning about Belos' true motives. Luz goes with King to meet with the Titans, so he can learn more about his past, but more horrifying secrets come into light during their quest.

Episode 18

Labyrinth Runners

At Hexside; Edric, Emira, and Mattholomule are allowed to study multiple tacks. During lunch Amity, Willow, and Gus become concerned about Luz's whereabouts and Luz tries to warn Amity about Belos' true motives. Amity and Willow head to class, but Gus notices Flapjack and he follows him into the auditorium. Gus finds that Hunter has taken refuge at Hexside. Gus asks what Hunter is doing here, but he vaguely replies that his living situation has been compromised. Gus gives Hunter his lunch and he leaves to meet his classmates in the gym. Adrian Graye Vernworth, the head of the illusions coven, arrives at Hexside to provide fake sigils for the students, but Gus notices the ruse and he prevents Edric from being branded by the coven scouts, the real Adrian arrives and he tries to brand Gus with a coven sigil. Hunter saves Gus from Adrian, he uses an illusion spell and everyone ends up trapped in a labyrinth. Hunter works with Gus to find where their friends went, they are able to find them in one of the classrooms. Gus, Hunter, and the rest of the Hexside students and faculty decide to stop Adrian and the coven scouts. However, Gus is soon captured by Adrian during an ensuing fight and he tries to brand Gus again, but he dispels another illusion spell again, causing Gus to reveal his fears and doubts. Hunter tries to talk to Gus, he finally admits to Gus why he left the Emperor's coven and what Belos' true motives were. Hunter assures Gus that he will never hurt him and he still considers him his friend. Gus becomes moved by Hunter's words of encouragement and he removes the illusion around Hexside. Adrian, however, is put in a state of shock over his ordeal and Gus takes the magical amplifier from the illusion coven head. With the crisis resolved, the coven scouts take a catatonic Adrian back to the Emperor's palace, while one of the coven scouts decides to quit her position. Hunter begins to tell everyone at Hexside about Belos' true plans and what the Day of Unity is really about.

Episode 19

O Titan, Where Art Thou

The Owl House has been ransacked by the Emperor's Coven. Eda and Lilith have managed to evade them, Luz is relived that the two sisters are safe. Eda goes with Luz to retrieve her palistorm wood, which was taken by the coven scouts. Eda contacts Raine, but they are soon caught by Terra. Meanwhile, King is still coming to terms with his identity and he has a heart to heart talk with Steve, who has defected the Emperor's Coven. Luz is able to get her palistorm wood, but she and Eda are soon caught, the two are taken into custody. However, Luz and Eda end up in a hideout, the two are released by Darius, Eberwolf, and Raine. The three coven heads reveal that they only feigned their loyalty to Belos, so they can learn more about the Day of Unity and it is soon discovered that Belos is planning a genocide. Luz is still shocked over Belos' motives, but Eda assures her that they'll stop Belos together. Eda teaches Luz how to carve her palisman.

Episode 20

Clouds on the Horizon

Everyone prepares for the Day of Unity on the Boiling Isles. The Covens Against the Throne prepare for their endgame on stopping Belos' mass genocide. Luz and her friends must rescue Amity and her siblings after they are caught by their mother for attempting to destroy the abomatons. At Blight Manor, Luz is able to save her girlfriend and they go to Blight Industries to destroy the abomatons. Luz and her friends disguise themselves as coven scouts, but they get caught. Alador confides in King about his personal troubles and his marriage to Odalia, he decides to become a better father to his children. King reveals the true nature of the Day of Unity to Alador. At the Blight Industries warehouse, Odalia imprisons her children and her friends, but Alador releases them, he finally stands up to his wife and he quits his position at Blight Industries. Alador apologizes to "Luz" for all the trouble that he and his wife has caused, but "Luz" changes back into Hunter. Gus reveals that Luz was only trying to protect Hunter, causing everyone to realize that Kikimora is taking Luz to Belos.

Episode 21

King's Tide

The Day of Unity begins and Luz has been captured by Belos. Eda prepares to take Raine's place as head of the bard coven in order to prevent the draining spell, she goes with Darius and Eberwolf. Before the draining spell can begin a disguised Eda is placed next to Terra and Adrian, causing the illusion coven head not to comment over his encounter with Gus. The draining spell is soon delayed, but Terra and Adrian notice the ruse, he dispels Eda's disguise, Darius and Eberwolf try to intervene but they are forced to stand down. Raine is forced to take their place for the draining spell, it begins to take full effect, the coven heads begin to notice the life being drained out of them, Terra asks Raine if Belos is giving them paradise, but they reveal that no one is being spared. Meanwhile, Luz is able to brand Belos with a sigil, but he transforms into a monster. Alador starts to hold off the rest of the abomatons and he gives Amity a device to stop the abomatons. Amity, Willow, Gus, and Hunter notice Eda and all of the coven heads unconscious. Amity and her friends arrive to save Luz from Belos, they work together to stop him. With the stakes held high, Kikimora takes King to the Collector, so he can stop the draining spell. King accepts the Collector's offer on being his playmate and the Collector is soon released from his prison, he gets back at Belos for lying to him and Belos is seemingly killed. The Collector stops the draining spell and he is determined to play Owl House with King. Luz and her friends notice a portal to the human realm, King sacrifices his freedom and he allows Luz to go into the human realm. The portal is soon destroyed, but Luz and her friends are distraught over being apart from their loved ones. At the Noceda residence, Camila answers the door, she sees Luz, Willow, Amity, Gus, and Hunter. Luz tearfully reveals that she's back. Unbeknownst to Luz or her friends, they don't realize that Belos hasn't been fully defeated and a small drop of his remains leaks inside the shack.
