Winterlicht

Four years after her release from prison, former public prosecutor Karin Lossow is facing a new beginning. Her daughter Julia has been suspended from duty, granddaughter Sophie has fled to Berlin to study. Karin rents out her guest room and, of all people, Julia's successor in the Heringsdorf criminal investigation department moves into the Mörderhus. Stefan Thiel has not heard from his wife for days and is slowly starting to worry. Is Julia Thiel in a wellness hotel? His mother-in-law Karin Lossow is also skeptical. The search for the former detective leads the two to the red light district of Stettin. There the clues mount: Julia has been offered a private investigation. The boss of the Usedom branch of the internationally active biker club "Mc White Eagles" is missing one of his gang mates. Julia's family has no idea that the missing woman is actually in mortal danger. The Danish Ellen Norgaard was born on Usedom and has not only returned to the island for professional reasons. She had just started her job as the new police detective when the incomplete body of a dead man was recovered off Usedom. A tattoo leaves no doubt: it is the missing rocker that Julia Thiel is tracking down in Poland.

There are still tons of ammunition from the Second World War on the seabed off Usedom. Especially in autumn, when storms sweep over Usedom, white phosphorus is often washed up on the beach. At first glance, the lumps look like amber. However, they are extremely dangerous because the material ignites easily and can hardly be extinguished. Ten-year-old Ada Harms is a withdrawn, melancholy girl who hardly has any friends. Ada has created a small refuge for her treasures in an abandoned hut near the beach. Ada loves to wander along the beach in search of all sorts of flotsam. Karin Lossow knows about the little ones' passion for collecting. To protect Ada, she regularly searches the beach for lumps of phosphorus herself. Ada's father Raik Harms has specialized in the recovery of ordnance. However, his company has got into difficult waters because he has lost an important tender. A competitor from Denmark won the bid. Raik is mad. He believes that the Danes have prevailed with dumping prices. In his local pub, he went drunk with a pocket knife at team leader Morten Olsen and injured him slightly. Raik asks Karin Lossow for support from public prosecutor Dr. Brunner. When a female corpse washes up on the beach in front of Heringsdorf, Commissioner Ellen Norgaard is extremely worried: Could the dead woman be her mother, whom she has been looking for in vain for years?
