Episode 1

The socialite Pemberton couple throws another grand party at their villa, surprised when her tacky screwball sister Mackenzie Murphy shows up for the first time, clearly an utter misfit in their posh circles. However when the FBI shows up to arrest the couple for massive business fraud, black sheep Mackenzie doesn't have a minute to consider the barked 'request' to mind their three not-amused kids, and the house staff 'just a while'. By the time the runway parents call from overseas the can't regain the country indefinitely, it's already clear that Mac is unfit as house-or baby-sitter, let alone to raise spoiled brats, as they all found out to their peril. Chip is furious as her foppish advice to bluff a bully got him bloodily beaten, firstborn bitch Sabrina spares nobody in a brutal battle of dirty tricks, not even the owl she's supposedly championing as fashionable 'environmental activist'. Little Ben needs a proper mother figure.

Mickey drives off in a 'bonus' sports car, allowing maid Alba to tag along, but finds her home invaded by meanwhile unfaithful boyfriend Jimmy and beleaguered by a loan shark out of patience, so they soon head back. The kids were happy left alone, but seeking a role model, Chip makes the mistake to invite his war hero granddad, without realizing The Colonel is now a wheelchair vegetable and grandma proves a sadistic arch-conservative disciplinarian, so even welcoming Mickey back is a lot better for both.

Episode 3

Now the tyrannical grandparents are gone, things return to 'normal' in the Pemberton villa, except that Mick's shabby lover Jimmy had moved in, but also Sabrina's gorgeous handyman-stud Kai, built like a Greek god. Mick's efforts to get Sabrina on birth control only result in little Ben assuming the pill is good for him, which gives him serious hormonal mod swings. Failing to convince Sabrina, Mick resolves to seduce Kai, who isn't even tempted, then Ava helps her pretend Sabrina is pregnant, but Kai isn't nearly as non-committal as assumed, nor even Sabrina.

Episode 4

Having forgotten Ben's birthday in their parents' absence, which a postcard "from Iraq" masks, the Pembertons and Mick hastily improvise one. Chip sets out for his kid brother's dream gift, a pony, but finds the willful equine a nightmare to bring home. Jimmy and Mick promised Ben and his kid guests a clown, but they find Sully passed out in the bathtub; nearby is what looks like a junkie kit.

Little Ben's obsession with imaginary friend Omicron and spooky behavior convince big brother Chip he needs to step up as role model, but a fraternal quality time day with bicycling lesson proves a painful miscalculation. Scolded poisonous bad examples by Alba, Mick and Sabrina promise to quit smoking but rather seem to add her nicotine patches to their addiction, and pile up enough 'last smoke' butts to start a fire in the already pissed-off neighbor's home. Faced with a most suspicious fire inspector, discovery of Ben's tree house secret proves surprisingly auspicious.

Chip loyally defends his parents' off-limits master bedroom when Sabrina claims it, rivaled by Mickey, both trying to undermine Chip's motivation by claiming their parents long lack of messages suggest they lost interest, which Chip desperately attempts to disprove, before overreacting faced with the unsavory truth (or what seems so) by tipping off the feds. Learning Teddy, the classy man who seemed interested in her, is an old money tycoon, Mickey dumps fellow 'lowlife' Jimmy to chase a fortune and life of luxury aboard his huge yacht, but makes a fool of herself and proves his worst nightmare.

Their parent's legal peril being exposed in a Manhattan society magazine, the Pembertons' financial adviser Barry counsels economizing on credit cards and socialite luxuries like the country club, but hearing about it only inspires Mick to take Alba along for wellness spoiling. Chip feel it's up to him as acting family head to show the Pembertons are still around by competing in the golf tournament, but their soiled reputation already sees him degraded to 'common' contractor Jerry Berlin's looser team with Dai and Jun Yamaguchi, and accepting Jerry's bragging gets Chip accused of cheating. Sabrina fails to 'bribe' society reporter Oliver Fishburn, who exposed the family with gossip, only becomes a target herself, so she, Ben, Mick and Alba attempt to discredit him, but the plan only makes Sabrina look shittier then ever.

Episode 8

Chip is the only member of his school lacrosse team caught in the locker-room with nude girl pictures mailed by seniors, who make obviously insincere efforts to make him feel cool and fully accepted so as to buy his silence . Against his better judgment he ignores Sabrina's advice to just tell the truth and avoid an honor court, which she is on. Mick convinced him to adhere to her no-snitching code, and imposes her even more dubious services as his defense counsel. the case goes even worse when the identity of the nude poser becomes clear to them. Meanwhile Alba spares no bribe or other effort to get Ben to snitch on a car vandal to exact vengeance Guatemalan style.

Episode 9

The Pemberton kids are used to being served -with their playmate guests- and giving orders, not doing chores. Mick soon finds Alba was right to want they won't 'listen to reason' without fear of punishment, which she claimed being outdated but must admit being required to gain any authority. Letting the house decay into a pigsty obviously doesn't scare kids, but baring them from the coolest party is a different matter, sheer abuse does the rest.

Jimmy is bluntly dumped and chased from the Pemberton estate after Mick brings in her latest lover, colored ex-foster-child Dante. Initially his gentleman behavior charms the women and his fatherly concern the kids, but as soon as he dares order Chip to take chores of Alba's hands, it becomes clear he must be put in his low-born place or simply chased. Ben's pet bunny's death and Dante offering him a puppy instead also starts a theological and educational conflict around reincarnation.

Chip is unfairly discriminated as 'oppressive white male', claims that's the present time and accepts with Sabrina a dare from the women to get to know Aba's Guatemalan roots properly, which prove all but deep, and the whole operation pointless. Despite big brother Chip's efforts to be a male role model, all the female influence on little Ben has made him feel and dress like a girl. When the elite pre-school principal summons guardian Mick to discuss Ben's recently disturbing general misbehavior and includes cross-dressing, she hears only that detail and makes his expulsion inevitable by 'leaving themselves'. Having neglected to consider alternatives, she must transfer Ben to a public school, and when a parent opposes the 'transgender admission', fabricate blackmail ammo with Jimmy.

When it seems as though Chip is getting scammed by a girl he met online, Mickey tries to teach him how to be a "wolf" vs. a "sheep." Meanwhile, Sabrina is scared that her boyfriend is beginning to mirror Jimmy's ways and she plans an intervention.

Chip is duly unimpressed by Jimmy's efforts to teach him and Ben 'life lessons in self-reliance', yet lets himself recruit in dental amateur-surgery as Jimmy has no health insurance, for which the hobo now pays an even more painful price then anyone feared. When Sabrina wines her life is ruined because of her cyber bully ex-friend posting her diary after Mick and Alba attempted cyber-countering, Mick urges her to fight to reclaim bitch status, yet is the one to chicken out just because the bully is an a wheelchair.

Episode 14

Pretending she and Alba deserve a break after 'minding the brats', Mickey takes off to a casino, dragging along hesitant Alba, who has a hard time curbing her crazy gambler mode, which Jimmy knows and duly fears. Meanwhile her alleged 'authority', symbolized by the pepper mill, is handed to Sabrina, who takes off having put amused Ben on a leash in his bedroom. Jimmy decides teaching a lesson for 'treating kid bro like a dog' by telling Ben to hide, but soon can't find him either, as he misses Alba and takes the bus alone. Chip rationally laughed away the pepper mill charade, but seeing Jimmy eager to grab it steps up as natural head of the family, completing the scramble. Meanwhile Mickey's gambling gets out of control, Alba ends up evicted by the casino, and chance strikes.

Episode 15

Chip finally is about to get the Pembertons accepted again by the cool kids striking a friendship with popular Dylan, to be sealed by a sleepover. As this invitational merry-go)round means many days off babysitting, Mick is eager to help talk over Dylan's mother, which she would blow but his father's absence makes Karen accept. Dylan comes with a long list of absurd conditions, which Mick and Jimmy promise to enforce, except when the contrary suits them. The real trouble arrives in the stoned person of Dylan's girl, school tramp Olivia, whose desperate father Don GPS-tagged her. Dealing with them proves a painful task of deception, especially for Jimmy, but discovering an adultery fixes things in the end, provided Chip can forgive Dylan having used his new mate as dating facility.

Episode 16

Jimmy agrees to take the somewhat effeminate Pemberton boys along for a 'men's day' at the stadium, but chip wisely sneaks off to a VIP sky box while Ben's due doubts about brutish fan excesses prove painfully right. Meanwhile Mick comes along, having due doubts about Sabrina cashing in on a parental gift, a pre-paid plastic surgeon's job, in the shape of breast implants. Dr. Goodby naively agreeing to a 'test ride', the vixens get themselves into trouble and call Alba to the rescue, in vain for half of the silicon stuffing.

Episode 17

Hearing a suspicious noise at night, Chip bravely gets up and grabs an antique weapon to take down the intruder in the dark. By the time everyone has gathered, the police has been alerted before they realize it's the kids' father Christopher Pemberton. He is no more amused by the painfully warm welcome then his bitching wife Poodle to have returned while international fraud-suspect fugitives only to find their cash stash was found and spent by Mick, who is 'fired' as minder. The family and domestic fights take a backseat when the police arrives, who were initially mislead by staging Jimmy as the robber, who soon offered to deliver a better prey if released from hospital without handcuffs. An oversight in the mansion has terrible consequences.
