Episode 1
Rebel Spirit

Six months has passed since Korra and her friends have stopped the Anti-Bending Revolution. Things have changed drastically the United Republic Council have disbanded, since Tarrlok has taken his own life alongside his brother and the United Republic now has their first president. Korra is in a relationship with Mako, she is still continuing her air bending training with Tenzin and her boyfriend, Mako is on the Republic City Police Force. Asami is now running Future Industries after her father has been incarcerated for conspiring with Amon and the Equalists, but she is having trouble redeeming the company and her company is almost bankrupt, Asami plans on meeting Varrick so they can make a business deal. Bolin is leading the Fire Ferrets, but they end up losing their match to another pro-bending team. Korra and her friends head to the Southern Water Tribe for the Glacier Spirits Festival. However, Tonraq is less than thrilled to see his estranged brother, Unalaq, who is the chief of the Northern Water Tribe.

Korra begins to doubt on making the right choice on helping Unalaq but her relationship with her parents and Mako become strained. Matters soon become worse for Korra, when Tonraq and Senna get arrested after they are accused of treason.

Civil Wars: Part 2

Korra tries to prove her parents are innocent. Judge Hotah releases Senna, but her father ends up going to prison. Korra suspects that the trial is rigged and she confronts the corrupt Hotah, he finally admits that Unalaq framed Tonraq for treason. Korra soon learns that her uncle is responsible for getting her father banished from the Northern Water Tribe so that he can be chief. Korra and her friends break Tonraq and the rebels out of prison. Korra and her friends head back to Republic City to get help from the president, but they are pursued by Eska. Meanwhile, Tenzin tries to find Ikki after having a fight with Jinora and Meelo. Tenzin finds Ikki spending time with baby sky bison and despite their issues with their siblings they are still family. Ikki and Tenzin return to the temple, Jinora and Meelo apologize to Ikki. Kya and Bumi give Tenzin a family photo as an apology.

Peacekeepers

When Raiko refuses to help Korra on stopping the Water Tribe Civil War. Korra goes behind Raiko's back, she has General Iroh and the United Forces help her resolve the conflict. However, Raiko finds out about Korra's plan from Mako, Raiko threatens to have General Iroh court-martialed and he reprimands Korra for going behind his back. Korra begins to resent the president even further, but Iroh tells Korra that she should go to the Fire Nation and talk to his mother, Fire Lord Izumi. At the police station, Korra angrily confronts Mako for betraying her, they end up having a nasty break up. This causes Mako to become guilty for betraying Korra and for ratting her out to the president. At Mo Ce Sea, Korra heads to the Fire Nation by a speedboat, but her cousins Desna and Eska attack her. However, a dark spirit arrives and Korra tries to purify it with her spirit bending, but she is soon ambushed by the dark spirit.
Episode 6
The Sting

Asami's company is in danger of being shut down, due to all of her inventory being stolen by the criminal triads. Mako performs an investigation in order to figure out who has been stealing from Asami, he begins to suspect Varrick is responsible for the thefts. Elsewhere, Korra has gone missing after being ambushed by a dark spirit after trying to go to the Fire Nation Capital in hopes of getting help from Fire Lord Izumi. An unconscious Korra is soon found by the Bhanti villagers.

Beginnings, Part 1

At the Bhanti Village Temple, Korra is being healed by Fire Sages after being ambushed by a dark spirit. Korra doesn't remember who she is, her past lives inform her that she is the Avatar and in order to regain her memories, Korra must find Raava and if she doesn't find Raava she will die and the Avatar cycle will be over. Along the way, Korra meets Wan, the first Avatar from ten thousand years.
Episode 8
Beginnings, Part 2

Korra begins to learn more about Wan and Raava. Korra learns that Wan has gained all of the elements from the lion turtles. Vaatu plans on plaguing the world into eternal darkness during Harmonic Convergence. Wan and Raava must work together to stop Vaatu, the battle almost goes poorly for Wan, but he and Raava fuse together permanently, he imprisons Vaatu in the Tree of Time. Wan vows to restore balance to the world. However, this proves to be a daunting task for the Avatar. Many years later, an elderly Wan apologizes to Raava for not bringing peace and balance to the world, but she assures him they will be together for an entire life time and they will never give up. Wan exhales his last breath and the Avatar cycle begins. Korra wakes up and she remembers everything. Korra leaves the Bhanti Village Temple by a sky bison and she heads off to the Eastern Air Temple to get help from Tenzin in order to prevent her evil uncle from releasing Vaatu.
Episode 9
The Guide

Korra arrives at the Eastern Air Temple to seek Tenzin's help. Korra informs Tenzin and everyone else about Unalaq's true intentions and he plans on releasing Vaatu during Harmonic Convergence and she reveals how she met Wan, the first avatar from ten thousand years. Tenzin and his family become stunned over the revelation. Tenzin and Korra talk privately to discuss the matter, she begins to feel guilty for trusting her power-hungry uncle. Tenzin assures Korra that they will work together to stop Unalaq from releasing Vaatu. Tenzin tries to guide Korra into the spirit world, but every attempt fails. Korra successfully uses her spirit bending to stop a dark spirit and she apologizes to Tenzin for how she acted towards him, Tenzin accepts Korra's apology. Jinora guides Korra into the spirit world. Meanwhile, Mako and Asami rekindle their relationship, though Mako's investigation into Varrick's true plans leads him to get arrested.

After losing Raava to Unalaq, Tenzin encourages Korra not to give up. Tenzin shows Korra the Tree of Time and she is able to tap her energy into the universe, she becomes a towering spirit of herself. Korra heads to Republic City via a spirit portal to stop her evil uncle from causing chaos. Tenzin, Kya, Mako, Bolin, along with Desna and Eska fight off the evil spirits. During a lengthy battle, UnaVaatu tries to spirit bend Korra, but at the last minute, Jinora arrives in her spirit form to assist Korra, who brings Raava's residual light back. Korra finally gets Raava back from the Dark Avatar, she uses her spirit bending to dissipate her uncle and Vaatu. Korra finally merges with Raava again, but she can no longer contact her past lives. Korra decides to leave the spirit portals open to usher in a new peace to the world. Korra apologizes to her cousins for not saving their father, but Desna and Eska assure Korra that they aren't going to miss their father and the cousins end up on good terms with Korra. Desna and Eska decide to return to the Northern Water Tribe and they become co-chiefs in their late father's place. At the Southern Water Tribe Palace, Mako tries to tell Korra about their break up, but she tells him that she remembered what happened. Korra and Mako break up on good terms, due to their differing roles. Korra declares the Water Tribe Civil War over and she tells her people that both the Southern & Northern Water Tribes will continue to be allies. Korra announces that the Southern Water Tribe Council has elected Tonraq to become chief of the newly independent Southern Water Tribe.
