Episode 1
Ada throws a party when her son comes home from his National Service, Alf wonders where the money is supposed to come from to pay for it all, and Eddie's attempt to show his appreciation goes completely unnoticed.
Episode 2
Alf announces that he's practically secured Eddie the job that he wanted, Ada's informed that the prospective employers are coming for tea, and Jeff's forced to entertain a group of cowboy comic competition winners.
Episode 3
Ada does a friend a favour by agreeing to looking after her pedigree cat, the men of the house soon notice that he gets better food than they do, and Alf comes up with a way to get the furry interloper out of their lives.
Episode 4
Jeff's questioned when his typewriter is found among jumble sale items, Alf announces that a publisher is calling by to look at a manuscript, and the Larkins discover their Bohemian side in an attempt to secure a deal.
Episode 5
Ada's not impressed about having to make do with a magic lantern show, Alf gets an earbashing for sending a new television set back to the shop, and watching boxing at the Prouts' leads to a complete change of sides.
Episode 6
Alf announces that he's just been made Potholder to the Chief Imbiber, Ada insists that she wants a summer holiday despite it being November, and Joyce worries about a plan to render her father drunk and incapable.
