Kenneth Ma (Can't Buy Me Love) and Tavia Yeung (Beyond the Realm of Conscience) reunite as the iconic medical couple in the sequel to the modern classic that is sure to send your heart rate surging. Neurosurgeon Cheung Yat Kin (Kenneth Ma) marries fellow doctor Fan Tze Yu (Tavia Yeung) and the two are happily living together, expecting their first child. However, when Tze Yu is diagnosed with a tumor, her pregnancy becomes medically unsafe and, much to her dismay, Yat Kin doesn't want her to go through with childbirth. This causes a dangerous rift between the two, one that love alone can't bridge. And before the once-happy couple can focus on their marital problems, Yat Kin also has to contend with pathology specialist Lok Man Sang (famed Hong Kong heartthrob Lawrence Ng), a new arrival to the hospital who simply cannot go without disagreeing with our lead, and who also gets involved with Heung Chin Yi (Miss Hong Kong Pageant runner up Tracy Chu), an internal medicine doctor nearly 20 years his junior with her own heartbreak to deal with. Between an unwanted power struggle, the slow disintegration of their marriage, and the small matter of saving lives, Yat Kin and Tze Yu have to figure out just to how bring their flat-lining marriage-and love-back to the operating table. Also known as On Call 36 Hours II, the medical drama is a sequel to the 2012 TVB hit, The Hippocratic Crush. Network regulars Tommy Leung and Poon Ka Tak once again return to helm the project, while both the opening and ending theme for the series are performed by famed Hong Kong singer and actress Joey Yung. The first episode originally aired on November 4, 2013 and the finale on December 13, 2013, with the drama running for a duration of 30 episodes. The much-anticipated sequel proved to be a hit with the fans, regularly netting the highest viewership amongst its fellow productions for the network.
