A detective recovering from amnesia caused by a shocking car accident begins to suspect not everything is as it seems, following the reappearance of a young boy.

Who and where is Lucy? Jess is running out of time to piece the puzzle together. Meanwhile, Ruby is hiding something.

Episode 3
Jess is still trying to piece together the night of the accident when a distraught father turns up at her house, begging for help to find his daughter Chelsea. Ordered by her boss to follow up the case, Jess reluctantly returns to Waiheke with Shephard. (She is also becoming increasingly dependent on her meds.) The investigation leads to a sleazy backpacking hostel, a party thrown by a group of uber-wealthy 20-somethings and a hostile local who knows more than she's letting on.
Episode 4
Ruby's news is a shock for Jess, leading a nasty fight between them. When a badly decomposed body is discovered on the beach, the investigation goes into overdrive. Two of the partygoers come under suspicion when a video of them harassing Chelsea comes to light. The news of Susan Bridges' true identity leads to a confrontation and revelation about Harding's background. Then another missing girl is reported.

The shooting of a Maori man, Hoani Casey, by a retired detective leads to increased tensions on the island. The Casey family history with local police hinders the investigation and makes life difficult for PC Kerr. An informant comes forward but is brutally eliminated. Meanwhile, Jess is dealing with withdrawal from her painkillers and her memories gradually returning.
