Episode 1

House Bunnies

Hef shows the girls the movie "Madame X" (1966) which was filmed at the Mansion five years before Playboy bought the place. Later, Hef's secretary Mary tells the girls that Adam Sandler's production company (Happy Madison Productions) wants them to play themselves in the comedy "The House Bunny." The girls read through the scripts, looking for their lines and evaluating how true to life their dialogue is. Anna Faris and the crew come to the Mansion, where the girls and Hef shoot their scenes by the pool and inside the house. Later, Hef and the girls go to Sony Studios so Hef can record his voice over dialogue for the movie. They are given a tour of the lot, including the soundstage where the music for "The Wizard of Oz" was recorded back when the lot was owned by MGM. They stop at the Happy Madison Productions office, where Anna Faris promises to bring "The House Bunny" to the Mansion for a screening. Later, it's movie night at the mansion, and everyone gathers around to watch the completed movie.

Hot Chocolate

The girls plan for Hef's 82nd birthday celebration in Las Vegas. Bridget arranges to train with Cirque du Soleil for a trapeze act. All three of the girls go to Madame Chocolat to have certain particular body parts molded in chocolate as gifts for Hef. When Hef and the girls arrive in Las Vegas, Bridget goes to the Bellagio for training with the cast of Cirque du Soleil's "O" show, while the others go to Hef's suite at the Palms, which they consider a home away from home. Later, Hef and friends watch Bridget perform a trapeze act with the Cirque acrobats, and they are all quite impressed. At night, Hef's birthday party is held at the Playboy Club at the Palms, where a table is dedicated in Hef's honor. When Hef and the girls return to his suite, they are greeted by Pamela Anderson, who carries out a birthday cake naked. Back at the Mansion, the girls present Hef with the chocolate versions of their body parts. Hef is so amused by the gifts that he says he hopes he lives to be 105 to keep getting birthday presents like these.

She Got Game

The Playboy party during Super Bowl weekend in Arizona is coming up. Before that, though, Holly directs a Playmate pictorial for Kayla Collins, and Bridget orders an outfit for the party which resembles a cross between a corset and a football jersey. Kendra flies out to Arizona early to play in a celebrity flag football game alongside some of her NFL heroes. Holly, Bridget, and Hef fly in on the night of the party, which turns out to be a big success.

Scream Test

Halloween is approaching at the mansion. First, Bridget poses for artist Olivia, who plans a painting of her as the bride of Frankenstein. Bridget meets with the producer and writer of a horror movie, who want her to be a co-producer and recruit Playmates as cast members. Two sculptors bring a seven-foot sculpture of Frankenstein to the mansion, which they have to carry from room to room when Hef's bedroom, the gym, and Bridget's bedroom are deemed undesirable locations for it. Later, Bridget has the mansion staff do a table reading of the script of the movie, "The Telling." There is an open casting call for the movie at a horror bookstore in Burbank, at which the prospective actresses demonstrate their screams. Soon it's time for the Playboy Halloween party at the mansion. Holly dresses as Tinker Bell, Bridget as Medusa, and Kendra as a 1970s pimp/disco girl, while Hef wears a robe and has devil's horns attached to his forehead. After the party, Hef shows the girls a homemade horror/mystery magazine he created in his youth, and the four of them watch "The Bride of Frankenstein" together.

Change of Undress

Holly talks about her plan to redecorate the Playmate house, also known as the Mapleton house, located across the street from the Mansion. New Playmates are scheduled to move in, along with Holly's friend Angel. Holly and friends go to the Crunch gym for a lesson in "cardio-striptease" (aerobics inspired by strippers). Later, Holly, Bridget, Kendra, and friends paint the Mapleton house. Kendra tries using the paint roller to paint her breasts, but she finds that the paint is hard to wash off and decides that painting one's breasts is a bad idea. Later, the Mapleton house carpet is replaced, and a stripper pole is installed. Holly hosts a barbecue for the new house residents, and Hef comes over to see the redecorated house.

Girl Crazy: Part 1

Holly is in charge of finding the 55th Anniversary Playmate. She takes the responsibility seriously, especially after Hef tells her that he is looking for a "Playmate of the Year, times 55." The process starts with a mass casting call at the Mansion with hundreds of candidates having their pictures taken. Holly, Bridget, and a few of their Playmate friends then travel to Chicago for the casting call there. First they visit Playboy's headquarters and then go to the hotel where the casting call is being held. They see various women posing and being interviewed, but Holly is hoping to find a really special candidate to take back to Los Angeles. Holly and friends go to Hooters for lunch in hopes of finding potential Playmates there. They meet Crystal, a customer, who turns out to have auditioned for the Playmate search the day before. After spending more time at the casting call, Holly prepares to continue the Playmate search in Dallas and New York. Meanwhile, Kendra goes shopping for clothes and is surprised to find herself surrounded by paparazzi and fans. Later, she invites Hef to join her in a live Internet chat.

Girl Crazy: Part 2

Holly, accompanied by Bridget and friends, continues her search for models to become the 55th Anniversary Playmate. In Dallas, they see numerous women at the casting call, and Holly becomes more optimistic about being able to find a suitable anniversary Playmate. Holly and friends continue on to New York, where they visit Coney Island and then walk through Times Square, visiting several hot dog vendors until they find one with the kind of yellow mustard Bridget likes. They proceed to the casting call and see many more potential Playmates. Afterwards, they have drinks with Playmate Sasckya Porto at a hotel roof bar. Returning to the Mansion, Holly shows Hef pictures of her top choices for the 55th Anniversary Playmate. They agree on five candidates (including a set of twins) to come in for a Playmate test. Also, Kendra goes shopping for a wig, eventually choosing one with short black hair.

Kentucky Fried

Hef tells the girls that they are all invited to attend the Kentucky Derby and the Barnstable Brown Gala before the race. Bridget and Kendra go to a boutique to buy appropriate hats, while Holly decorates her own hat. They all fly to Louisville and check into the hotel, after which they go to the gala, where they are greeted by numerous autograph-seeking fans. The party itself is attended by numerous celebrities ranging from Travis Tritt to Lennox Lewis. The next day, the girls get ready to attend the Derby. They play a prank on Hef's secretary, Mary, in which they attempt to get her to wear an ostentatious hat, but they eventually relent and give Mary her modestly decorated visor. At the race, the girls drink mint juleps and then go to place their bets. Holly bets on Pyro, Bridget spreads her bets among four different horses, and Kendra plans to bet on Big Brown but gets a tip on Court Vision and changes her mind at the last minute. After visiting the paddock, the girls rush back to their seats and watch the race. Big Brown wins, resulting in wins for Hef (who had bet on him) and Bridget (who had him among her selections), but disappointment for Kendra. Nevertheless, the girls are satisfied with their Derby experience.

Pleading the 55th: Part 1

Holly and Hef have narrowed the candidates for 55th Anniversary Playmate to Crystal from Chicago, the daughter of a Playmate from 1968; Dasha from Ukraine, who has already been a Playmate in her homeland; Kristina and Karissa, twins from Clearwater, Florida; Jessica from Orange County via MySpace; and Hope, a television host from Texas. All of them come to stay at the Playmate House across the street from the Mansion while they take their test shots. Most of them arrive on the same day, have dinner with Hef, play pool in the game room, and go skinny dipping in the grotto. The next day, most of the candidates are photographed for the tests, with Hef dropping by occasionally to praise them. Hope arrives as well; her television schedule prevented her from arriving earlier. Holly, Hef, and the candidates go out to dinner at Ketchup, and the next day Hope takes her test shot. Holly and Hef review the photos soon afterward, because they have to narrow the choices down to three while the candidates are still at the Playmate House. Hef makes his selections for the top three: Crystal, Dasha, and Hope.

Pleading the 55th: Part 2

Hef has decided that all the remaining candidates for 55th Anniversary Playmate will become Playmates, although only Crystal, Dasha, and Hope are still in the running for the anniversary honor. Holly, Bridget, and Kendra take the future Playmates to Knott's Berry Farm to ride the roller coasters. Later, in turn, Hope, Dasha, and Crystal each go to Playboy Studio West to shoot their centerfolds, with Holly standing by to evaluate them. Holly is pleased by all three of them and satisfied that she surpassed her expectations in terms of finding a potential anniversary Playmate. Holly and Hef review the three centerfold photos, and then Hef makes his decision - Dasha will be the 55th Anniversary Playmate. Hef and Holly present her with a necklace representing the honor, which Dasha describes as a dream come true. Later, everyone goes to a club to celebrate Dasha's selection.

Catcher in the Raw

Kendra tells Hef of her plan to organize a Playmate softball game. This will be one of the only events that Kendra has organized, compared to Holly and Bridget who have more experience organizing events. After discussing her plans with Holly, Kendra goes to American Apparel to order uniforms. Later, she reviews back issues of Playboy to put together a list of potential Playmates for the game. Although Holly doesn't consider herself an athlete, she goes to a batting cage with Kendra to practice, and her hitting skill improves after receiving tips from Kendra. On the day of the game, the invited Playmates gather at the Mansion and then go to the softball field. The two captains choose up sides - Kendra is the captain of the "Ballaz" and Victoria Fuller is captain of the "Playaz." Virtually everyone from the Mansion, including the staff and guests, are in the stands. "All the Way Ray" Anthony plays the national anthem on his trumpet, and Hef throws out the first pitch. The game is fun for all, and Kendra distributes trophies at the end. Kendra is pleased that the game went well and everyone had a good time.

Glued to Their Sets

Holly, Bridget, and Kendra are planning a "Girls Next Door" book based on their lives at the Mansion. They review Bridget's scrapbook looking for photos to use in the book. Hef tells the girls that he has been compiling scrapbooks for many years and has almost 2,000 of them. He takes them to his scrapbook room which has shelves and shelves of volumes. Hef shows the girls his scrapbooks, which begin with pictures of Hef's parents before he was born, followed by his childhood and youth. Amid the photos are cartoons Hef drew in his childhood and adulthood before Playboy was established. As Hef flips through the volumes, he reminisces about past girlfriends such as Joyce Nizzari, Barbi Benton, and Sondra Theodore, as well as the original Playboy Mansion in Chicago, hosting "Playboy After Dark" on television, and the Big Bunny jet airplane that the company used to own. Eventually they arrive at the scrapbooks covering Hef's marriage to Kimberley Conrad (which they flip through quickly), the post-marriage years, and finally the current era with Holly, Bridget, and Kendra. Later, the "Girls Next Door" book is ready, and Holly and Kendra bring a copy to Bridget as a surprise while she is in the middle of her radio show.

Kickin' Aspen

Hef and the girls fly to Aspen, Colorado, to stay with his former girlfriend Barbi Benton. Barbi lives with her husband George in one of the largest houses in Aspen. After they arrive, Holly gets a snowboarding lesson from Barbi's daughter Ariana, and Kendra shows Barbi her snowboarding skills. Later, the group goes to Barbi's house. Barbi has decorated the entire house and filled it with art, and a tour of just half the house takes an hour. The next day, Barbi and Ariana make breakfast for the whole group, with Barbi trying to remember Hef's food preferences from when they were a couple in the 1970s. The whole group then goes on a sleigh ride to the nearby ghost town of Ashcroft. That night, there is a formal dinner at Barbi and George's house, although Bridget and Kendra have trouble appreciating the food. However, Kendra is very impressed by the disco inside the house. The girls express appreciation for Barbi's hospitality, and Barbi explains that she has grown to appreciate the girls as fellow girlfriends.

Happy Birthday, Anastasia

Bridget's sister Anastasia is about to turn 21, and the girls plan to take her on a road trip to celebrate. Before that, though, Bridget gets a toy puppy for her dog Wednesday to play with, and Holly gets a rabbit. She names the rabbit David (after photographer David LaChappelle) and takes the rabbit to a veterinarian to be fixed. To Holly's surprise, the vet discovers that David is actually female. Later, the girls and Anastasia set out on their road trip, along with Anastasia's friend Alyssa, Sara Underwood, and Stacey Burke, in a motor coach stocked with junk food and alcohol. Along the way, they stop by a railroad track so Kendra and Sara can have pennies flattened by a train; at Andersen's, a restaurant known for pea soup, which Kendra successfully persuades the others to try; in Solvang, a town known for its Danish decor, which all of them find cute; and at Bubblegum Alley, an alley whose walls are covered with gum, which they find both fascinating and disgusting. They stay at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, where all the rooms have different decor. Bridget surprises Anastasia when their parents show up to join them for dinner. After dinner, Anastasia takes advantage of being 21 by drinking one shot after another. Kendra wonders whether she herself partied as much as Anastasia on her own 21st birthday (and then remembers that she did). The ride back to the Mansion is much quieter, as most of the women spend the time sleeping or reading.

"The Telling," the horror movie for which Bridget is a producer, begins filming at the Mansion. At first Bridget is unsure what she is supposed to be doing as a producer, but she soon becomes comfortable with the job. Holly appears in the movie as the arrogant leader of a college sorority. She struggles to remember her lines during rehearsal but eventually learns the dialogue. After Holly's scenes filmed at the Mansion are over, Bridget continues to work on the film and performs in it as well. Her character is shown attending a dinner party with a group of people in creepy masks, and then being chained up for a torture scene. Once filming is complete, Bridget is thrilled with the film, but she is still reluctant to watch the scenes she acted in. Meanwhile, Kendra's car has been stolen and stripped, and so she goes car-shopping along with Playmate Brittany Binger. Kendra test-drives various cars and eventually decides on a BMW 650.

The Spa Who Loved Me

Hef reads Holly a letter from Carri, a fan of the show who would like her daughter Morgan to be invited to the Mansion as an 18th birthday present. Bridget calls Carri and they arrange to set it up as a surprise for Morgan. On Morgan's birthday, Carri takes her to the hair salon, where Bridget happens to be getting her own hair done. While they are still at the salon, Holly drops by in a limousine and invites Carri and Morgan to come with them and take a tour of the Mansion. When they all arrive back at the Mansion, Kendra and Hef greet them, and Hef reveals that everything had been previously set up. The girls take Morgan on a tour of the grounds, and later everyone has birthday cake. Later, the girls celebrate Mother's Day by inviting their mothers and grandmothers for a spa day. Accompanied by Hef's secretary Mary O'Connor, they all go to Jonathan Baker and Victoria Fuller's spa for massages and facials. In the evening, Hef joins the group for dinner at a Japanese restaurant.

The Big Easy Does It

Bridget has the chance to do her radio show from New Orleans during Mardi Gras and invites Holly and Kendra to come along too. Bridget arrives in New Orleans before the others and appears on a local television news show to promote a charity event that she and the other girls will be participating in to rebuild the city's Lower Ninth Ward which was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Holly is the next to arrive. The two of them go to the House of Blues for the charity event and wait for Kendra to arrive. Kendra shows up in time to join the others on stage for a charity auction. The next morning, both Bridget and Kendra feel sick, and Holly goes out to bring back beignets for them. Bridget eventually feels well enough to do her radio show, and by the evening Kendra is able to get out of bed to join the Mardi Gras partying. The girls throw numerous beads from their hotel room balcony to the crowd, and enjoy the party until midnight when the police and sanitation crews come to clear the streets of the French Quarter. Before leaving New Orleans, the girls take a bus tour of the Lower Ninth Ward and see the damaged and destroyed houses, many of which remain unrepaired two and a half years after the hurricane.

Scuba, Scuba, Do!

Bridget is planning a series for the Travel Channel about beaches and needs to be certified to scuba dive, and so all three of the girls learn to scuba dive. First, an instructor comes to the Mansion for the lecture portion of their instruction, and then shows them how to scuba dive in the Mansion pool. They find that the most difficult portion of the instruction is flooding the mask -- that is, intentionally allowing water into the mask and then blowing the water out. Later, the girls go to Santa Catalina Island to practice more there. Finally, the girls are taken out on a boat for their certification test. Their first attempt at a dive does not go well, but they make another attempt and successfully achieve certification. Hef, along with a group of Playmates, comes to the pier to join the girls to celebrate on the boat.

Third Time's the Charming

Holly suggests to Bridget that they ask Hef if they can do a new set of pictorials for Playboy. They go to see him when he is with his male friends. At first Hef is uncertain about whether the girls should do another pictorial, but Holly asks Hef's friends, "Who wants to see us naked again?", and they all raise their hands. Hef approves the pictorial, and Holly makes arrangements for the cover. Each of the girls poses separately in front of a different part of the mansion, and the print run will be split among three different covers, each featuring one of the girls. Holly poses for her pictorial in the Mansion pool, mostly underwater; Kendra poses at the beach; and Bridget's pictorial is based on a circus trapeze theme. Later, at the Mansion 4th of July party, Bridget does her trapeze act for the guests. At the end of the party, fireworks go off. As the episode ends, Bridget, Kendra, and Holly comment on how they have grown as people during their years at the Mansion, as clips from past seasons of the series illustrate their experiences.
