Pilot

Claymore Gregg leases his late great uncle's house to Mrs. Muir and family, knowing it's haunted by his ancestor (Capt. Gregg) but needing money for taxes to prevent losing control of the property. Mrs. Muir (a widow with two children and a dog) finds the house utterly charming, but not Martha, her live-in maid. Claymore, with second thoughts after understanding the captain's unvarnished displeasure, tries to worm out of the deal, but Mrs. Muir stands by their contract. Capt. Gregg, having already spoken to son Jonathan, finally meets with Mrs. Muir over his displeasure at having others in his home. The two hotly agree they can't live under the same roof but, strangely enough, one of them has a change of heart.

Haunted Honeymoon

Car trouble during a storm strands young couple Harvey and Gladys (en route to their wedding) at Gull Cottage. Carolyn puts then up for the night in separate rooms but the inhospitable Captain wants them gone and endeavors to make their stay uncomfortable. Trying later to fix their car puts the Captain out of his element, leaving him one last alternative - get them married and Harvey out of his workroom.

"Maiden Voyage" becomes a risqué hit, shocking women and giving men the wrong idea about Mr. Muir herself.

The Captain devises a plan to get the doctor to accept a dinner invitation, which incurs a dental visit for Carolyn and Martha meeting the good doctor's controlling mother over dinner.

Son of the Curse

There, it horrifies Claymore, who recognizes it as a cursed clock that will mark the death of the last Gregg at midnight. Tired of hearing Claymore go on and on about his impending death and how much his loss will be felt, the Captain exerts his powers to reveal how Claymore's funeral will go. Afterward, Claymore attempts to rectify years of being a tightwad in his few remaining hours.
