Natalya, a young provincial girl, is sure that Dmitry loves her as strong as she loves him. However, his betrayal destroys their relationship. Five years later, Natalya, a well-known landscape designer, brings up her son, Kostya, and is in preparations for marriage with Sergey, whom she does not seem to love truly. Suddenly, Dmitry re-appears in her life, asking for forgiveness and swearing love. Natalya gives in to passion and breaks off her relationship with Sergey, without even suspecting that Dmitry's return is not an occasion and now her life is in danger.
