Episode 1
A new doctor clashes with Chris over the treatment of a young man gravely injured in a road accident.
Episode 2
A truck gets stuck in the river and Emma is asked to pull it out. She tries together with Paula, but the truck is too heavy and Emma gets stuck underneath. While the water is rising, Geoff has to make a difficult decision; amputate Emma's arm or wait for another truck to pull Emma out.
Episode 3
The rowdy Malarvy family create havoc in the Crossing when they arrive with their eight children. When their daughter Rosie is admitted to hospital suffering from pneumonia, she falls for David and a major misunderstanding ensures, she thinks he wants to marry her. Things are exacerbated by her parents' approval of the match and David has great difficulty in quashing the misapprehension.
Episode 4
Geoff and Kate take drastic steps to have a wedding of their choosing but when they elope, things don't go quite to plan. Meanwhile, Paula goes on safari with a group of photographers in the outback. However, Luke is dubious about their motivations and decides to follow them.
Episode 5
David finds himself very much an outsider when he and Chris conduct a three-day clinic at a remote homestead where men appear to be most unwelcome. The mystery is solved when a frightening chain of events unfolds. With Stephen Hall as Kevin, Monica Maughan as Bea Kelly and Emily Simpson as Jan Kelly.
Episode 6
When two Japanese entrepreneurs place a bid on Essie Harrington's house in an auction, racial tensions and old wounds are re-opened. Essie Harrington, unable to cope with the memory of her husband's death in World War II by the Japanese, collapses. The locals are none too impressed and when someone sabotages the Nomad the Japanese businessmen fly in, events take a turn for the worse.
Episode 7
Kate and David come into conflict when a boy, Ricky, is hit by lighting. Although Sam manages to get the Nomad to the scene of the incident, he nor they are able to return to the Crossing because of the ferocity of the storm. Kate argues that euthanasia is the answer as Ricky is in so much pain; however David stands by his Hippocratic Oath and is determined to save him.
Episode 8
Geoff and Kate are forced to have a bizarre wedding ceremony when events conspire against them. Pregnant Sheena and her husband Joe end up on an Aboriginal camp when he is fired for not being attentive enough on the McKinley property. Later when Geoff and David arrive, they find that Sheena is about to give birth, but complications soon arrive and Geoff is in danger of missing his own 'big day'.
Episode 9
The townspeople of Coopers Crossing are appalled when a family becomes entwined in murder and suicide. With Peter Black as Phil Shannon, Frank Bren as Vince, Robert Coleby as Alex Potter, Alexander Kemp as Ben Potter and Julie Nihill as Jilly Potter.
Episode 10
David, Kate and Paula go on a clinic run to where men are working in a mine. One man has cracked ribs and David advises him to stop working but he won't, the man also fights in a boxing match. A tense situation develops as David uncovers a drug ring within this team of specialised tunnellers.
Episode 11
Fear and repulsion rip through the Crossing when Father Jacko is diagnosed with leprosy. Sam is particularly concerned, as Father Jacko has recently baptised a relative of his. Unable to cope with being an abhorred figure, Father Jacko leaves. Can Geoff and Sam track him down and persuade him to return?
Episode 12
Jack is called in to investigate the attempted murder of a stranger. All the evidence seems to point to Luke Mitchell, and Jack uncovers some disturbing facts when he delves into Luke's past.
Episode 13
An emergency call-out to an injury at a homestead reveals that the much-loved Dr Tom Callaghan is back in town, but he is strangely aloof. However, a life-and-death situation occurs when David is attacked by a swarm of wasps in his plane and Tom has to land the aircraft without any flying experience.
Episode 14
A young girl's life is endangered when the rodeo comes to town and her father decides to take her on the road with him. She is diabetic and faces certain death without medical assistance.
Episode 15
A quiet family outing ends in tragedy when their young daughter falls into a disused mining ventilation shaft. A full-scale emergency ensues as the rescue team battles against the elements to save the girl's life. With Anna Hruby as Karen Palmer, Jessica Jennings as Sophie Palmer and Robert Willox as Steve Palmer.
Episode 16
Emma and Nick find a lone man wandering along an old track suffering from dehydration and fatigue.
Episode 17
Tom and David are involved in a horrific road accident.
Episode 18
An old prospector is in danger of losing his land after a pair of surveyors for a mining company arrive - then he discovers that one of them is suffering from rabies.
Episode 19
When Nick suffers an injury at work, his demanding boss gives him an ultimatum: continue working or get the sack. Later, when Nick and his friend Shane won't stop squabbling, Logan abandons them in the outback with disastrous consequences. When Logan's oppressed wife goes out searching for them, she only adds to the state of emergency.
Episode 20
An elderly farmhand believes he is a burden on his workmates. A sick camel poses a problem for the RFDS.
Episode 21
After being made an honorary member of an aborigine tribe, Geoff is thrown into a deadly dilemma when he collapses with appendicitis in a sacred cave and may not be able to get help without betraying his tribal oath.
Episode 22
Emma's friend gives birth in her car, then leaves the baby outside Emma's front door wanting Emma to look after it unaware that Emma is staying overnight in town.
Episode 23
Lorraine is killed while trying to mend her bridge. Her death leaves her best friend, Judith, to pick up the pieces and fight off a blackmailing claimant on Lorraine's will.
Episode 24
Pip, an elderly lady who is the darling of Coopers Crossing, comes into some money.
Episode 25
The accident of a young boy entangles his family in a web of deceit and suspicion.
Episode 26
A teenager has a struggle to come to terms with the loss of a leg in an accident.
