Episode 1
A boxing troupe brings excitement and unexpected romance to Cooper's Crossing. Sam and Emma surprise everybody by returning early from their honeymoon. Kate gets a shock when she discovers where the newlyweds are to live.
Episode 2
A cushy 3-day clinic run at the luxurious Manning property seems like Chris and Kate's idea of heaven - until it becomes evident that someone is trying to poison the host.
Episode 3
When a driver is seriously injured in a car crash, the RFDS are called to the scene. Once there they discover that a little girl, a passenger in the car, has gone missing.
Episode 4
A routine clinic run becomes a succession of emergencies just when the Vice President of the RFDS arrives for a snap inspection. And Jack reveals a romantic interest in Chris.
Episode 5
The arrival of a alcoholic sales rep makes a dramatic impression on a local lad, and Jack initiates divorce proceedings.
Episode 6
Sam and Emma come to the aid of a friend who has entered 'The Great Australian Camel Race'; and George Baxter finds himself besieged after incurring the wrath of the town's womenfolk.
Episode 7
An artist and his agent arrive in town to find a bush retreat to boost his flagging career, but is the visit just a cover for something more sinister? Meanwhile, Chris finally confronts Jack about their relationship.
Episode 8
George Baxter meets his match when he comes up against a tough American business woman.
Episode 9
An explosion at a gas field injures Geoff, and Kate accompanies him for therapy at Broken Hill - will romance blossom? Chris has to perform an emergency operation, and DJ has to win back Soula's affections.
Episode 10
The RFDS come to the aid of a tourist bus stranded by a flood. One of the passengers is seriously ill, and it looks as if she will die alone until a 25-year-old love affair is rekindled. With Michael Beecher as Robert Armstrong, Alexandra Fowler as Josie Bennet, Arianthe Galani as Connie Porter, Barbara Jungwirth as June Balir, Sheila Kennelly as Merle Demster, Nick Lathouris as Spiros Polites and John Murphy as Frank Demster.
Episode 11
A runaway kid comes to the dog trials with his dog Sparky. On the way he meets Marty, who sees himself in the kid and convinces Emma to let the runaway, Andy, stay in the garage. After taking a hit in his stomach Andy get pains, and the doctors finds out that he has liver cancer and they need to perform surgery, but can't do it until they have permission from Andys guardian. They had some trouble finding the guardian but they get permission and the operation goes well. Marty tries to convince Geoff to let Andy participate in the dog trials, and Geoff agrees somewhat reluctantly. Things also heat up between Chris and Mike Lancanster.
Episode 12
The flying doctors are summoned to a farm, where Stewart Collins is worried about his wife, Gina. She had a stroke when their baby was born and has been paralyzed on her right side since. The problem is that she doesn't seem to want to get better. Sam feels uncomfortable when he see the state Gina is in, and tries to convince Emma to rather let him die than end up like that. In the meantime Vic finds out that the tax office wants to go through his receipts to be assured that everything is in order. Nancy doesn't want to admit that she can't find them. Geoff asks for volunteers to take care of Gina and give her back her spark of life, and in the end Sam is the hero of the day.
Episode 13
The Sutton family comes to Coopers Crossing and Miriam Sutton is just about to have a baby. They are very poor and the whole town wants to help out by giving them old clothes and toys, free meals, a roof over their head and some money. Miriams husband Barry takes any job he can get, but then he suddenly disappears. Apparently this wasn't the first time he had left his wife and kids stranded. Miriam and the kids leave the town in their van but it's broken and has no brakes. DJ tells everyone to keep an eye out for a van driven by a woman, when someone says that he has seen the van but it's driven by a man - Barry. It was all a scam, and when the Suttons are forced back to Coopers Crossing they meet many angry and disappointed people, who still are willing to give them a chance though. Violet also decides that she will come with her granddaughter to England to help out with babysitting, but she's worried about her shop.
Episode 14
A bunch of sheep shearers arrive at Coopers Crossing after taken care of Baxters sheep, and with them their cook Rosie. Nancy tries to convince Violet that Rosie could be the new manageress of her shop. A fire in Baxters wool-shed leaves him and many of his sheep with injuries. Sergeant Jack comes along to help putting the sheep out of their misery, and on the way back to the plane he accidentally gets shot. He looses a lot of blood and on top of that he has a rare blood group and the only one who match is Dougie, who could be anywhere in the outback. DJ finally realizes, with some help from Chris, that Soula might not want to marry him.
Episode 15
Chris is irritated at Mike because he hasn't written or called for two weeks and when she meets him she forces Kate to come with her. Kate meets an old friend, Lachlan McGregor, and he convince her to come with him when he visits his grandfather, Angus, at the pioneers' home. Angus pretends not to recognize Lachlan to find out if he is helping his mother to sell the farm. Angus and his friend "Young" Bill escape from the pioneers' home and start walking to Coopers Crossing. They trick the flying doctors to pick them up and give them a lift and on the way back Angus keeps on calling Geoff for Kates' boyfriend. Lachlans' mother is planning on selling the farm to George Baxter but Lachlan wants to keep the farm and run it with Angus. Geoff and Chris declare Angus to be completely sane and capable of managing his own business and therefor Lachlans' mother can't sell the farm.
Episode 16
Violet and Maggie fight for supremacy as RFDS chief fund-raiser. Chris learns the truth about Mike.
Episode 17
A young boy falls ill after finding out his mother is having an affair. The doctors can't find anything wrong with him and start thinking it may all be psychological. DJ organizes a Surfing Carnaval for Marty and Mike tries to make up with Chris.
Episode 18
Richard Sawyer wants to start taking tourists horse-riding in the outback and he has hired a man to take care of the horses. What he doesn't know is that the man, Don Brodie, has taken his daughter with him. Amy is a bit mentally disabled and Sawyer thinks that she will make the tourists feel uncomfortable so he fires Don. When Don and Amy is camping Don gets bit by a snake and he has to drive to town without finding Amy. When the people in the town find out that she is out there on her own they organize a search. The problem is that Amy has promised her father to never ever talk to strangers so she hides from them. When Sawyer sees her he falls and hurt his head and leg. The others find his horse without him and start looking for him too. Finally constable Larry O'Connor, who is the only one Amy trusts and recognize, finds Amy and she shows him Sawyer. Sawyer rehire Don Brodie because he's grateful that Amy didn't just leave him there to die.
Episode 19
Episode 20
Philip and Virginia Wilson are going to examine a cave when an Aborigine, Winjin, appears and tells them to stay away from there or they'll die. Philip doesn't care but Virginia is frightened and begs Philip to not go in there. Winjin waves a bone and suddenly Philip falls down a hole and breaks his leg. Virginia runs away to get some help and Geoff, Sam and constable Larry O'Connor come to take him to the hospital. They fix his leg and everything seems to be alright when Philip suddenly gets worse. Kate and Virginia are both convinced that Winjin and the bone-pointing had something to do with it, and Kate forces Geoff to talk to Dougie about it. Dougie takes Geoff to the cave again to meet Winjin, and then says that Winjin's spirit is inside him and he can make Philip better. While Dougie is doing his thing Geoff tries a long shot. He believe it's something called histoplasmosis, a disease carried by the bats in the cave. When Dougie comes back from Philip he has the same bone with him that Winjin was waving in the cave, but Geoff's diagnosis was also correct. It's all a bit supernatural and Kate wonders why they didn't all get the disease. Vic starts serving beer in the backyard to let the customers sit outside if they wish to do so.
Episode 21
Hurtle returns to town in a stolen Rolls Royce and Vic tries to help him hide it until Jack returns, but they fail and end up in court. Sam's sister, Paula, starts her new job at the hospital but manages to X-ray the wrong foot on Peter Munro, who had a tree fall on him. Geoff gets furious and yells at her. Chris decides that she and Mike should break up because it would never work, even if he got divorced.
Episode 22
Edith Cranston is 84 years old and living all by herself when she has a heart attack. She manages to get to the radio and contact the RFDS. When Kate, Geoff and Sam show up she makes Kate promise that they won't take her to the hospital - she wants to die where she is and where she and her family has been for 60 years. Geoff doesn't want to leave Edith there, but Kate insists and they start arguing. Finally Sam suggests that they both stay there. Edith talks to Kate about Geoff and tells her that she shouldn't let him go because people you love don't come along very often. Edith then talks to Geoff about Kate and asks if he has told how he feels about her. Then she dies and leaves everything she owns to the RFDS. Kate tells Geoff that she prefers to stand with both feet on the ground. Chris gets a message from Mike that says that he is in Paris and he couldn't take the Tiger Moth with him so he gave it to Chris. Hurtle returns with a stolen Rolls Royce and Vic tries to help him hide it until Jack comes back, but they fail and end up in court.
Episode 23
Emma and Chris find themselves in grave danger when they are taken captive by two young criminals.
Episode 24
Marty spends a night in a haunted house. Geoff and Sam are trapped by a ferocious dog. And the women of the town play host to some undesirable characters.
Episode 25
Emma has a miscarriage and George goes into the property market.
Episode 26
Two estranged brothers pretend not to know each other - but why?
