Episode 3
49 mins
For most of his life, Steven Truscott, had been unable to use his own name. Truscott was convicted of murdering classmate Lynn Harper in 1959. The investigation lasted less than two days and the trial less than two weeks. The result was that the 14-year old schoolboy was sentenced to the gallows. Steven Truscott's murder trail was the most famous, and infamous, child criminal case in Canadian history. His death sentence was commuted, but Truscott spent 10 years in prison. Truscott had lived a secret life under an assumed name, shunning all publicity, until 2000 when on The Fifth Estate he broke that 40-year silence and revealed his identity.
