Finding Rachel: Part 1

As Johnny continues investigating his future visions and debating with himself if Greg Stillson is behind the inevitable Apocylapse, he receives a vision from Christopher Wey, 40 years in the future, about a young woman, named Rachel Caldwell, whom is a volunteer on Stillson's campaign crew, going missing. He goes to meet her, but finds himself two hours later with no memory of the meeting. Johnny attempts to piece together his visions to fill in the large gap of missing time in his memory in order to figure out what happened, but soon finds circumstantial evidence pointing to him as Rachel's assailant. Meanwhile, Stillson approaches Reverend Purdy to persuade him to keep Johnny in check or he will reveal some damaging information about Purdy's church organization.

Finding Rachel: Part 2

Arrested for the murder of Rachel Caldwell, Johnny seeks the assistance of her sister, Rebecca (who believes that he is guilty) and his friends to prove his innocence and help figure out what really happened to her. Although both Walt and Sarah want to believe Johnny's innocence, they sense another angle to the mystery. Meanwhile, Stillson continues his nefarious quest to be elected congressman of Maine though rigged voting machines. When he hears about Johnny's arrest, he decides that he needs the psychic to help him win, so he fixes things behind the scenes so Johnny will be exonerated.

Jack Jericho is a "shock jock" radio DJ who spews venomous attacks on the airwaves. After Jack gets a concussion from being beaten by a group of bikers he offended on-the-air, the most unlikely person comes to his aid. Johnny who is the target of Jack's many radio bashing becomes concerned that the radio host's self-destructive behavior is leading him down a path that would end in his death. In the midst of all this, Johnny attempts to help Walt and Sarah with J.J. who is having problems at school and at home.

Johnny finds himself stalked by a mysterious woman. He thinks that she previously killed two other psychics that used to work for the top-secret organization where he worked. But Bonnie Gibson, the psychic who has the power to see numbers, tells Johnny that enemy defense contract agents are after her. The agents are looking for a fugitive psychic who could expose their nefarious plans and cover-up of the murder of a senator. Meanwhile, Sarah and Walt decide to accept Johnny more into their lives when they invite him to J.J.'s 9th birthday party.

When Johnny sees Walt hugging another woman, he confronts him, but Walt tells Johnny that it is only the widow of a police officer who died 10 years ago, and that Walt's childhood ex-convict friend is the cop killer who has been recently released from prison. But when the friend steals Walt's gun, Walt and Johnny must find him before he hurts someone else.

With the help of Rebecca Caldwell as well as school principal, Johnny tries to locate the student, but also learns that Principal Rowin's tough policy may be hurting more then helping, while Johnny eventually discovers that they are looking in the wrong place for the wrong student.

Johnny, Walt, and Bruce investigate a series of animal attacks on various people. From bats attacking a woman in a car and a stampede of horses disrupting J.J.'s soccer game, to ordinary pets turning on their owners. Johnny's visions link them to a mysterious half-insane animal research scientist. They, in turn, link the attacks to a mysterious tiny sound in the air. This makes Johnny think that a great disaster is coming, and he tries to persuade Purdy to help, involving the nearby Clover Dam.

While out fishing with J.J. and Bruce, Johnny must unravel a series of visions he gets. They involve him killing a man in revenge for the upcoming murder of someone that's close to him, who turns out to be Bruce. Johnny must put the pieces of the puzzle together to prevent the murder from happening, and to prevent himself from killing a person and setting on his own dark path.

Tipping Point

After another future vision where Christopher Wey urges Johnny to make Reverend Purdy tell the truth about Mike Kennedy's death, Johnny collapses and is sent to the hospital for medical treatment. Johnny and Rebecca go to the hospital for tests in order to stop Johnny's headaches and blackouts. Johnny is scheduled for surgery, and he asks both Rebecca and Sarah to make a hard choice of the worst happens. Meanwhile, Purdy decides to confess his sins by publicly admitting to fabricating Mike Kennedy's suicide note of killing Rachel's sister in order to exonerate Johnny. Also, the sinister and murderous Greg Stillson arrives back in town from Washington to keep Purdy in check to keep the source of his illegal campaign contributions a secret, as well as to have his advisers/thugs keep things going his way. When Rebecca learns that Mike Kennedy was in fact murdered by Sonny Elliman, a Stillson security agent and his chief assassin, she decides to set out to get revenge on Stillson after Johnny confides in her about the nuclear war that will come in the future when Stillson becomes President of the USA.
