In his search Steve encounters the most aggressive snakes he has ever seen - the Egyptian cobra, the dangerous boomslang, and the deadly green mamba. When he finally meets his nemesis, the black mamba, the encounter is Steve's most memorable and possibly most dangerous.

Wild River of Africa

Steve sets out in a canoe on a remote section of the Lauangwa River in Zambia to study the giant Nile crocodiles, elephants in camp, vultures feasting, Nile monitors along the river bank, and a pride of lions on a prowl for a fresh kill. A herd of hippos living in the river makes Steve's task extremely dangerous, but his final encounter - with over a hundred Nile crocodiles in a feeding frenzy - is one of the most amazing adventures.

Jungle in the Clouds

Steve treks from the coastal mangroves of New Guinea, through to the steamy jungles of the lowland plains and the misty, cloud shrouded valleys of the highland mountains to the pinnacle of his trek to one of the few equatorial glaciers in the world. Along the journey he encounters cus cus, crocodiles, snakes, bats, tree kangaroos, triocks, turtles and butterflies.
