Joining the team is Lucy Pilkington who tries out one of the new looks on shoppers in London's Wood Green. Are you getting married next April? You could be the show's Bride of the Year. And there's the shop assistants with an air of over familiarity..

The hairdressers Trevor Sorbie and Winston Isaacs are interviewed. Items include mail order shopping, waistcoats, launch of the new knitting competition, Afro Hair and fashion for size 14's and over.

Selina Scott , Jeff Banks , Caryn Franklin and Lucy Pilkington present this weeks episode of The Clothes Show. In Bristol, Dr Barnardo's latest venture is to make money and provide employment by updating second-hand clothes. In London, Barnardo's most famous old boy Bruce Oldfield presents his new collection at a charity gala with HRH The Princess of Wales among the guests. The scissors are out in this year's battle for the title of 'Hairdresser of the Year' and there's the patter of little feet.

According to Confucius it was a young Chinese princess who made the discovery over 2,000 years ago which has since brought great riches to China. From silk worms in Hangzhou to silk pyjamas in Shanghai, Jeff Banks tells the story of the world's most luxurious fabric. He goes shopping in the 'biggest department store in Beijing', while at the Great Wall is a spectacular fashion shoot.

This week there are reports from Cumbria, where they make new suits from old and turn any girl into a cover girl. In Nottingham there's lace-making and in Darlington there are teeth like the stars - they come out at night and with an extra sparkle. And how rubber can make you feel clad all over.

Jeff Banks reports from the Caribbean Fashion Carnival in Jamaica, home of the world's fastest-growing fashion industry. He meets jewellery designer, former Miss World Cindy Breakespeare , and two young designers who studied fashion and textiles in Britain.

Why do we wear what we wear? Lucy Pilkington investigates the power of dressing for success. Jeff Banks and Caryn Franklin present the best of the new spring looks and Selina Scott prepares for the new season with a look at the umbrella. Bride of the Year Nia Parry tries on the calico version of her wedding dress designed by Catherine Walker , and there's a report on a traditional Hindu wedding.

Selina Scott reports from England and Wales on British couture. In Scotland Jeff Banks meets Bridegroom of the Year William Oliver and discovers why it takes eight yards of tartan to make a kilt. In Germany Caryn Franklin takes a look at Eurofashion and reports from the largest fashion fair in the world. There's the first regional final of the Clothes ShowlAero Knitting Competition and Lucy Pilkington 's not in Staines.
Episode 26
Scutching, retting and beetling are just three of the stages in the manufacture of linen. Jeff Banks travels to Northern Ireland, for many years the home of Britain's linen industry. He meets the McConville brothers, who are hoping to re-introduce the commercial growing of flax to the Province; and designer Paul Costelloe, who is well known for his use of this unique fabric in his collections.

Jeff Banks makes sure the Bride of the Year puts her best foot forward, and helps choose the flowers for the dress. He also meets some mad hatters. Caryn Franklin presents the second round of the regional finals of the Clothes Show/Aero Knitting Competition, and Lucy Pilkington 's been framed.

Selina Scott and Jeff Banks are guests at the Wedding of the Year - the marriage of Nia Parry to William Oliver. The bride's dress is by Catherine Walker , shoes by Manolo Blahnik and flowers by Jane Packer. Her hair is styled by Trevor Sorbie and make-up is by Teresa Fairminer. And the wedding video is by The Clothes Show.

The regional auditions for the Models 89 Competition are underway, Jeff Banks reports from Newcastle. Belfast jewellery designer Jenna Shaw shows her award-winning jewellery which uses linen. Caryn Franklin meets the Pasadenas and Lucy Pilkington looks at Viewfrom, the new venture into sportswear by the team of Brendan Foster and the BBC.

Travellers Yams. Selina Scott, Jeff Banks , Caryn Franklin and Lucy Pilkington are at the Dome in Brighton for the final of the Clothes Show/Aero Knitting Competition. Twenty-five finalists from all over the country see their work on the catwalk.

Thirty-two young people chosen from nationwide auditions arrive at Bournemouth International Centre for the finals of this year's model competition. Photographer John Swannell , hairdresser of the year Anthony Mascolo of Toni and Guy, and Beth Boldt and Annette Russell of Synchro Models are the judges.
