Cameron and Anne's marriage goes to pieces, so their two kids become the meat in the sandwich, leading to unspecified drama for one, from which the story is told in flash-backs. Son Jack (14) is a strapping lad, bravely baring his many football (soccer) injuries and inconveniences of staying with ma in the week and pa during weekends, but it occasionally gets too much when they take their frustrations out on him, even land him with younger girls. Anne, who dates colleague Peter, ultimately throws Jack out, just for having some porn like all his mates. Even dad's new partner Sue volunteers to take the fine lad in permanently. Meanwhile Jack's spoiled bratty sister Emily (8) makes life hell for either family, whenever she's there.
