Singer René Simard's manager Benny has arranged for some down time for the two of them on René's current concert tour, Benny believing the best option being to get away from it all by renting a house where no one would know who they are, namely in Gibsons. René is not looking forward to the isolation. The getaway doesn't end up being quite what they expect, first with Margaret, a huge René fan, who cannot control what she regards as the infantile behavior of screaming in ecstasy in seeing a celebrity, and second with Nick and Jesse, who have just embarked on a songwriting partnership despite Jesse only knowing how to play two chords on his guitar, neither very well, all three tenacious in their pursuit of time with René. René and Benny have different tactics in how to deal with these constant intrusions on their privacy.
