Episode 1
Twelve candidates hand-picked by Mark Bouris from the many who applied are divided into two teams. For their first task, the teams have to operate a gardening service and secure commercial and residential contracts. The losing team returns to the boardroom, where someone from that team gets fired.
Episode 2
The eleven remaining candidates have to create a brand of children's breakfast cereal and pitch it to marketing executives at Ogilvy Advertising.
Episode 3
The ten remaining candidates have to sell an original flavour of pie from a portable van and at a market stall, aiming to accrue the highest profit margin.
Episode 4
The nine remaining candidates travel to the country town of Mudgee, New South Wales, where they must create, market and sell tickets to a special pub function run by their team, aiming to make the highest profit from the night.
Episode 5
The eight remaining candidates have to provide service to hotel guests, who rate them on a scale of 1 to 10 on 25 tasks.
Episode 6
The seven remaining candidates have to create a 30-second television commercial to help Microsoft sell their new Windows 7 operating system.
Episode 7
The 6 remaining candidates are given 3 hours to sell the paintings of two artists chosen by their teams in an art gallery.
Episode 8
The five remaining candidates have to select and market an unsigned music artist, presenting their pitch to some recording executives who decide which team wins.
Episode 9
The four remaining candidates each have to sell three products live on the TVSN home shopping network.
Episode 10
The final three candidates are asked why Mark Bouris should hire them, and one of them is fired solely on the answer they give to this question. The final two candidates have to create and promote a new fragrance for men, with the help of some candidates who had previously been fired. The candidate who does the best job overall gets hired by Mark as his new Apprentice.
