Little Pete's lucky penny has just run out of luck just when he needs it the most to counteract his attempts to get his prank on with cherry-soda splurts from Dad and icebox snowballs from his archnemesis, Pit Stain. His string of bad luck included back hair, natural catastrophes, and man-made disasters. Nona suggests that they try to recharge it at Smedley Ravine on Monica's suggestion that he lies low, but Pit Stain pins him down. Big Pete explains that Pit Stain hates Little Pete for giving him his nickname from the glandular disorder on his underarms. When Little Pete attempt to get his penny to prevent the train from derailing, Pit Stain and his associates trail them.

Little Pete tries to stop adult swim at the Wellsville pool while Big Pete tries to earn his lifeguard stripes.

Despite of his fear of making a fool of himself, Little Pete goes to his first dance. But instead of hitting the dance floor, he tries to make some money by showing off his gut juice. Meanwhile, Nona tries to avoid dancing with her father and Big Pete tries to meet one of the band members.

Love fever strikes Wellsville hard: Little Pete succumbs to local postal carrier Eunice Puell's love talk; and Big Pete is smitten by a stuck-up tennis player.

To share in the privileges that come with status, Big Pete aims for a varsity letter by joining the wrestling team (without putting in much effort). An immediate but unexpected benefit comes by way of teammates protecting him from harassment from Endless Mike. Wrestling suits him well until Endless Mike transfers to another school just to join their wrestling team to beat Pete to a pulp in public. With better wrestlers in Pete's weight class dropping like flies (thanks to Mike's nefarious shenanigans), Pete has two options: slink away, or finally learn how to wrestle.
