Big Pete must work at his dad's Mighty Bear Driving Range running the ball picker. Fearing being seen by anyone from school and being branded a loser, he dons a bear suit for the job and soon becomes a star feature at the range when customers star enjoying beaning the bear. With Little Pete's help Artie begins training for the Annual Long Ball Hitting Contest, but one of his golf balls erases Clarke the turtle's memory.

When Big Pete forgets to study for a history test, he worries that his failing grade will land him the same fate as Cecil Tucker the janitor. Across town, Little Pete's gym class is invaded by the dodgeball team The Kings, who are training for the Intramural Championship.

This along with the hardships of war combine to break down each family.

As he sees it the only thing he needed was the Riley Retro-Fire Jetpack to fix countless problems worldwide. With the failures of seasons past he becomes more and more desperate for the $456.98 needed to buy the jet-pack. In this episode Little Pete enlists the help of Big Pete, Artie, and even Frank the crossing guard.
